Love is in the Air this year is more straightforward than ever before. You complete quests and get five love tokens which later you can spend at the Lovely Merchant to acquire certain items that help you complete the achievements. It involves time consumption minus the tedious random factor. Much more efficient.
There are two particular achievements in the Love is in the Air world event that will help you save time and tokens. When you purchase a box of chocolates for 10 Love Tokens, there's a chance that one or more Buttermilk Delight drops. Go to Dalaran. If you don't already have one, ask on General Chat for someone who has the
Romantic Picnic Basket. Sometimes people already have one down, so go around Dalaran first. However, it seems they only work if they are of your own faction.
Click on the basket located next to the umbrella, and make sure someone is sat down. You can offer someone a few gold for the favor if no one assists you. Once you have someone sitting with you after clicking the basket, click the Buttermilk Delight item. Theoretically you will accomplish two achievements at once:
- Lonely?: Enjoy a Buttlermilk Delight with someone in Dalaran at a Romantic Picnic during the Love is in the Air celebration.
- Sweet Tooth: Sample the Love is in the Air candies listed below: Buttermilk Delight, Sweet Surprise, Dark Desire and Very Berry Cream
Another cool tip. Have you noticed how you get usually one Lovely Charm every two or three kills? Sometimes longer. Some people like certain favorite spots such as the Fallen Hero mobs in Icecrown Glacier (west of Ymirheim), but unless you are a warrior, paladin or death knight or someone with good AOE you could die taking so many of them at once. Others take them one by one. The lone ones that is. Too risky. Too time consuming.
Other people usually queue to random dungeons for the emblems of frost, emblems of triumph and the gold rewards to also farm these Lovely Charms. However, the sweet spot is definitely Caverns of Time: Old Stratholme. Here is why. As a shadow priest it was really annoying to kill a few fallen heroes in Icecrown and I wouldn't get so many Lovely Charms. I even went the random dungeon LFG route. In those I managed to get maybe six Lovely Charms if I was lucky, and no more than eight. However, when I went to the Caverns of Time: Old Stratholme (normal-mode) I went out of shadow form to use the Holy Nova on the zombies. They are low HP and would die with two Holy Novas.
I got 50 Lovely Charms in a single run, and that because there was another player farming them. After you defeat Mal'ganis, run back and explore the entire dungeon. There are more zombie respawns all the way back to the entrance to Stratholme which gives you additional Lovely Charms. When you gather 10 of them, you can click them to create a
Lovely Charm Bracelet. These are used on the dailies given by Kwee Q. Peddlefeet, which asks you to bring a Lovely Charm Bracelet to the city's leader. There are four daily quests per day for this on Orgrimmar, Undercity, Thunderbluff and Silvermoon (Horde) or Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus and Exodar (Alliance). That's a total of 20 Love token rewards per day.
Additionally, there is an achievement titled Charming which asks you to create 12 Lovely Charm Bracelets. Happy hunting.
