The9, operator of WoW in China, issued a press release earlier which announces that they have received a record amount of concurrent users playing WoW. According to the PR, 1 million players logged in which is “the highest concurrency since the game’s commercial launch in June 2005 following the launch of its new expansion pack, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, in mainland China on September 6, 2007”.
With all the stories of WoW reaching its peak usersbase this week, this latest milestone seems to fly in the face of industry opinion and proves once again that WoW is as popular as ever, especially over in the Far East.
