2009 Midsummer Fire Festival to be reset via hotfix

Ouchies and Hooray?  Blizzard is going to restarts all servers to apply a hotfix to the Midsummer Fire Festival.  It will allow players to complete all the quests by resetting last year’s.  In effect, you will now be able to complete the quests and achievements.  That’s the good news.  The bad news buddie ...is that if you are midway through finishing you will have to do them all over again because once the servers come back online, all your progress will be removed and reset back as if you had not done any.  It hasn’t been specified if the Burning Blossom rewards will remain in your bag or if they will be automatically removed.  We will have to wait and see what happens on that end.

Blizzard Quote:
We are in the process of applying an in-game fix that will restart all of the quests associated with the Midsummer Fire Festival event and allow players to complete them once again. If you are in the process of completing an achievement such as Extinguishing Kalimdor, this fix will reset your progress and you will need start over. This fix will require realms to be restarted.

QQ time.

I just finished Kalimdor and did the 4 cities achievement on a 66 priest (not as easy as an 80 and still time consuming).  From the language given, my whole achievements better not be reset, and I will be pissed if I lose the 300 blossoms I acquired because I’m so close to getting the pet and will have no shot if they take them away.

You know what would have been nice? If they had given more of a warning than “oops, the servers are already down!”
