Artist Eddo Stern has been working on new items based around computer games, and one piece in particular should draw the attention of the WoW community.
In an interview on NationalPost.com, he speaks about his designs, and the one that’s drawn our attention. He’s designed a 3D moving projection depicting three iconic WoW figures - A dragon, a Night Elf and… Chuck Norris.
“I wanted to touch on masculinity and how it’s processed in a digital world. What does it mean to be macho when you’re sitting in front of your computer, basically some slob eating Doritos, but role-playing some warrior acting tough?
...Chuck Norris, he’s a macho man, but at the same time he’s very popular as the butt of all jokes. In World of Warcraft, every three minutes there will be a comment about Norris as a bonding joke. So another piece is World of Warcraft reduced to three elements: a dragon, Chuck Norris and a naked female elf.”
He’s also created pieces based on other games, such as EverQuest, and when asked about his favorite game he replied:
“I do think World of Warcraft is great. It’s a fantasy genre game that has really broken the fourth wall, so it fits my interest of reality squeaking into fantasy worlds. It’s full of pop cultural references. Paris Hilton is there, and Sid Vicious. I think that’s why it’s so popular, with 11 million people playing.”
Here’s the Warcraft piece made by Stern, which features in the article on NationalPost.com:

No, she’s not naked.
