Athene Banned

Posted 11th Apr 2008 12:44 PM by Rushster

No doubt you’ve been following player Athene’s exploits at speed leveling his characters over the past few months and also checked out his videos on Youtube at some point. For those of you who are fed up with his videos and exploits, there is some good news for you this morning, he has been banned from WoW!

While we can’t confirm the full reason, we think it probably has something to do with his latest RP video which was released on Youtube which over-stepped the mark in taste terms. Having said that, Blizzard won’t ban a user for something they posted on Youtube so it’s a bit of a mystery. Athene will probably be back under some other guise I’m sure.

If you’re not familiar with his work, here’s one he made earlier...

There must have been some hack we was using to speed level the way he did and Blizz caught on. Between that and his vague leveling tips, I can’t take him as legit.

As Rush says, it “probably” has something to do with his latest youtube movie, which I won’t link. No one wants to see that, honestly. If you’re curious, however, I’m sure it won’t take you long to find it.

"Endure" is the word! The main thing people don’t get is that the best way to get rid of the bugger is to avoid his bloody videos. If you look at the end of that video, it seemed pretty obvious that he was aiming for getting banned, even if the reason might have been something else in the end. Either exploits or that he had to spend the following few hours terrorizing people at Defias. Poor guys at Defias Brotherhood btw…
