A comment made by one of the Blizzard posters last night has caused a stir in the WoW community, after he seemed to hint that patch 2.4 is past the point where they will be changing anything in it.
This comes after Blizzard closed the PTRs on Sunday, claiming they needed more players for the TTRs instead.
Here’s the comment from the official forums that’s caused so much attention:
It might be easier all around if we just fixed the bug, which is being worked on right now. However I should point out that due to the stage of 2.4.0 development that we are in, this is more likely to get the nod for fixing in 2.4.2 instead of 2.4.0. If this had come up a couple weeks sooner we would be in a better position to address this in 2.4.0.
Either way, it’s likely we’ll see patch 2.4 on the live realms in the next couple of weeks.
Update: This message has just appeared on the log in page. Just a normal maintenance, or a special one? We’ll know soon enough 
I doubt that this is the patch. Normal maintenace always starts at this time. When major patches have been added maintenance starts two hours earlier this.
