China Uses WoW Map in Military Documentary

China Military TV Channel broadcast a documentary last week, about last year’s war exercises. During an illustration featuring maps of operations, an image that was meant to represent Iran, Iraq and Turkey was shown. Anyone who plays WoW would have had a twinge of recognition on seeing the image; It bears a remarkable resemblance to the Arathi Highlands.

On comparing images, there’s no doubt the makers of the program were “inspired” by the WoW map. Hey, there’s over 10 million of us WoW players now, someone was bound to notice.

I mean why? Just why? Surely they could muster up enough cash to buy a proper map? Quick, someone get in touch with Ordnance Survey, see if they’ll sponsor the Chinese military for a couple world maps.
