JLM Pacific reported there was a leak of the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King with a Chinese interface that allowed players to join North American servers. Links to said file were since removed. The9 and Blizzard Entertainment are investigating this incident.

Chinese players will need to be patient in the meantime to play the expansion. During the expansion’s midnight launch in New York, Frank Pearce told Wolrdofwar.net the following:

Blizzard Quote:
We are still going through the process of iterating on that, working with the different government authorities responsible for that, so we don’t actually know specifically what we are gonna change, if anything.  We want to make the experience as identical as possible around the world, but we also have to accommodate the local requirements, so we’ll see what happens.

I don’t see how it would help. They would need an american account to be able to play on american servers…
