There is a good reason to side with the cause of the Oracles, you know those lizard-like Gorlocs, found in Sholazar Basin. When you reach revered, you have the chance to purchase their Mysterious Egg. It has a seven days timer cooldown, which means you can’t do anything except patiently wait and waste a slot on your bag until it hatches. The Mysterious Egg will hatch and transform into a Cracked Egg which will allow you to loot a random pet each week. The egg disappears from your bag, and you need to buy another one. There is a benefit and payoff to that. You know, not everyone is revered with the Oracles. Some either haven’t done any of both factions, nor interested even in farming reputation or simply they aren’t level 80 yet. For whatever the reason, someone out there is an obsessed collector of vanity pets. And they are willing to pay a lot of gold to satisfy their ego.
These are the random vanity pets that hatch from the cracked egg:
- Tickbird Hatchling
- White Tickbird Hatchling
- Cobra Hatchling
- Proto Drake Whelp
Ca$$$hing !!! That’s where your payoff comes forth. If you already have the pet, or don’t want it, head to the Auction House. Take a look first at the price and demand by pressing SHIFT button and clicking the pet item to search the prices and trends. It’s a very good way to make some extra money each week. Usually they sell for around 175-300 gold. The proto-drake whelp is kind of a rare drop, although at times you might get two in a row the same month. The Mysterious Egg is in short is a steady source of income that you shouldn’t waste. The best payoff behind ritualistically buying and hatching these Mysterious Eggs is that at some point it will drop a Green Proto-Drake mount (280% speed) which is extremely rare, considering how long it takes to hatch these eggs. Some people might be hatching them for two years straight with no luck.

Not so true…
While there is a marginal advantage in the Oracles’ Egg, on Runetotem EU the vanity pets sells for less than 20g, if they sell at all, so the money advantage might be negligible. Check your local AH in advance.
Personally, the only reason to go Oracles’ (at least as first choice) is the Green Proto-Drake, that I was able to get twice in a row from my first two eggs on one char, and in the second or third eggs on another one…
After that, you could move to Frenzyheart just for the achievement or for the different exalted trinket.
