Some sad news for anyone who’s been around since the start of WoW, as this guild name will surely ring a bell; A top US raiding guild, Death and Taxes has disbanded.
There has been no official announcement yet, but the front page of the Death and Taxes website is displaying a banner that reads “Rest in Peace Death and Taxes Beta 2004 - May 2008”, which then goes on to list all their World first and US first kills, the most recent one being Illidan Stormrage almost 1 year ago.
The date of their last “first” perhaps goes a long way in explaining why the guild decided to call it quits. According to a source, D&T were having trouble keeping members after killing Illidan, with nothing new to try until recently when Sunwell came out, but by that time a lot of the damage had been done; A mass recruiting drive to make up the members they had lost resulted in a lower level of raiding quality than they were used to, and they found Sunwell a lot harder than they should have.
This must have been the last nail in the coffin for them. It’s always sad to see things come to an end, but who knows, maybe we’ll see something better rise from the ashes - word is, a lot of them are re-rolling Horde on the Blackrock server.

Really twoflower, trying to get a rise out of the guy by making fun of the addons he has contributed? How old are you, 10? Grow up please.
Before this thread is locked due to the behavior of a few children, I do want to say that Death and Taxes disbanding is newsworthy, regardless of whether you have heard about them or not. They have written many valuable raiding guides, helped Blizzard fine tune their instances, and been leaders for the American raiding guilds. It is a sad day when such a longstanding guild collapses.
And honestly, if you don’t think its newsworthy, why even bother to post and let us know about it? That isn’t a “dissenting opinion”, thats just + 1.
