Death Knight Quest Chain Changes

Posted 8th Sep 2008 05:59 PM by Maticus

Another part was recently added on to the end of the Death Knight starting quest chain, which requires the trainee to travel to Stormwind / Orgrimmar and speak with the leader there, depending on your faction. Until you do so, the NPCs will treat you like dirt - for example, they will throw rotten fruit at you, call you names and spit at you. All these actions give you lovely smelly debuffs.

Travel through the city, putting up with the abuse from the NPCs all the way, until you reach the person you’ve been sent to see. In the case of the Alliance, you get to speak to the newly returned King of Stormwind, King Varian Wrynn, at his new throne in the center of Stormwind Keep (Onyxia is nowhere in sight, I guess Blizzard have done away with that quest line?).

At first, Varian threatens to kill you, but after you hand him the letter you’ve been asked to give him, he accepts you back into the Alliance. All Death Knights have to do this now, even if they have reached level 80, they must go back and complete this quest or they will not be able to interact with NPCs in Stormwind or Orgrimmar.

Blue poster Ghostcrawler clarified this earlier:

[BLUE=“http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=9679628072&sid=2000”]With the new patch, you HAVE to go back and finish your quests in the death knight starting area if you want to be able to interact with vendors or NPCs in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. If any of you have been to those cities, you’ll know what I mean.

Eventually, death knights will experience the full quest chain before wandering out into the rest of the world. So for beta, pretend I have a big old ! over my head and I’m telling you to go back to Ebon Hold.[/BLUE]
