As expected Blizzard is taking the realms down for a very long extended maintenance on Tuesday for patch 3.0.2. With this patch will come the new talents, barbershops, Stormwind Harbor and many other things to help prepare for the launch of WotLK come November 13th.
I think that a lot of people seem to overlook the fact that Blizzard would love to run their servers 24/7. Blizzard is giving themselves time to do some testing and apply hotfixes if required before they end the maintenance period. I bet that those who are whingeing about the duration of ANY maintenance time will also be the first to whinge if they couldn’t get into their precious Battleground or Instance because of bugs Blizzard didn’t take the time to check & fix. Pfffft get real guys!
