Blizzard have taken down the Public Test Realms, currently running patch 2.4, so that players test the TTR instead. Obviously the next patch is proving much more interesting that the Tournament Test Realm, so Blizzard have stopped players from trying out patch 2.4, in the hopes they will test the recently introduced TTR instead.
However, will the PTRs go back up again? Patch 2.4 has been on test for some weeks now, has Blizzard finished the process? We’ve already downloaded a chunk of patch 2.4 on the background downloader, as reported earlier in the week, so will we see it go live in the coming week?
Here’s what Hortus said when he announced the closure of the PTRs earlier:
In order to gather additional logging information for the Tournament Test realm we will be taking down the regular 2.4 PTRs until further notice.
We encourage everyone to check out the TTR to help us test our new hardware configurations.
