Blizzard poster Vaneras, from the EU realms, has just made an announcement that many players from certain realms will be happy to hear; They are set to be reimbursed a full day of WoW for 6 hours of down-time that took place on April 8th:

As a result we will credit all players with an active character on the affected realms with 1 day of game time credit. This will be credited to the eligible accounts in the next few weeks. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience this has caused. [/blue]

If this happened during the evening chances are this does take up a day of playtime so its as it should be.
