New Meaning to the Term "Power Leveling"

The new “Recruit a Friend” system in WoW can really make a big difference if you use it properly. Fancy leveling from 1 to 60 within 20 minutes? Ok, you have to find someone to recruit, and they have to put in the time to level up, but as shown below, it is do-able.

In the movie below, we see that you can actually jump straight to level 60 from level 1 if your new recruit has been busy, but here are the facts:

  • For every two levels the new player earns, the new player can grant one free level-up to a lower-level character played by the veteran player.
  • The recruit may not grant a level to a character that is equal to or higher than the current level of the character he or she is playing.
  • The recruit may not grant a level to a character that is level 60 or higher.

So the person from this movie must have a recruit who has leveled 2 level 60 chars. Here’s what happened when he chose to use the level-ups:

Marvelous, what can I say? smile
Finally I can tell I’ve seen a guy (girl), who went to Outland straight from Northshire Abbey (counting out SW, where she went to meet a friend only) >.>

See you in Outland in your level 1 gear :D
(But she’s a Paladin so she’ll probably survive.)

I’ve referred a friend and we’re enjoying levelling together.
He rolled an Orc Warlock and I rolled an Orc Warrior.
About 4 hours in I’d grown a bit sick of Warrior antics and
re-rolled a Druid (Tauren of course) whilst he was away.
When he came back online I was 8 levels behind him. He instantly
granted me 7 levels and all was good.
(Except for those STUPID Moonglade quests.)

The refer-a-friend scheme is probably one of the best things Blizzard
have implemented into the game.

I’d tried to get people to try the game before this but they’d always
got tired of it.
Grouping with new people generally means much more time on gathering quests.
"Get 6 of these horns" style quests is fine on your own. 6 to 10 Raptor’s
or whatever and you’re done. But with a friend it’s 20+ and annoying.
So the triple XP is great.
