Actually, the site is done up by Echovox… so you pay 1x to download it 1x. If you want to download it an additional time, they charge again. Best to back it up to your local HD.

Additionally, I’m a bit surprised by Blizzard’s line of thought to charge for this content… usually they’re very ‘friendly’ with regards to releasing media (in any form) to the public at large.

Personally, if they want to charge to non-subscribers (to their games) then fine.. but subscribers having access for free would be a nice little ‘extra’, that Blizzard is known for.

Shadowlore, you’re right. What I meant was that you pay once for one(1) of the wallpapers/ringtones. Then you have it forever on your phone, but if you delete it or want another ringtone then you have to pay again.

I was also surprised that Blizzard charges for it. They have more than enough money to make this a free service, at least for subscribes. Blizzard is getting gready, this doens’t help their image.

I have a feeling Activision has a part in this.

The question then becomes, is Blizzard being greedy or are they simply following the orders of their new Overlords?

It’s not as if this has anything directly to do with creating games, so the usual freedom that they manage to convince their Overlords to give them doesn’t apply.
