Premade Characters and No Alliance Kodo

Posted 24th Jun 2008 12:00 PM by Maticus

Hortus has announced that premade characters are now available to copy on the PTR, so if you’d like to take a fully geared level 70 character round Azeroth and Outland to test the planned changes for the next patch, hop over to the character copy page (EU players’ facility not up yet) and choose a toon.

[blue=http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=7369890123&sid=1]The problems with Pre-made characters have been resolved, they should no longer be failing.

The character copy queue is now full and copies are taking multiple days to complete. Please be patient.[/blue]

Players will also be able to test the new Brewfest features, however, if you’re Alliance and you were hoping for a Kodo this time around, you’ll be disappointed. Kisirani revealed Blizzard are only going to make Rams available to Alliance, and Kodos available to Horde for Brewfest this year:

[blue=http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=7378120809&pageNo=2&sid=1#35]The decision was made to give Horde the Kodo and Alliance the Ram this year. I apologize if there were expectations that the Alliance would get a Horde mount; we were in discussions about this for a long time. I hope that you’ll enjoy the holiday regardless.

I understand, considering expectations, that you’re upset, and this isn’t a decision that was reached lightly. I’ll be monitoring feedback all through the testing phase, but please do keep in mind that civil and constructive statements serve best.[/blue]

Double standards much?

Well… I never really wanted a kodo anyway, and getting a ram without being Exalted with Ironforge will be nice, but still, sucks for those who wanted a kodo.

I don’t exactly know what the big deal is about alliance getting a kodo.  Horde already have rams from last year.  Anyone can get a bird mount from kael.  I guess they want each faction to keep their own flavor?

Wait a minute…why are you getting mounts from BREWfest anyway? Drinking and driving?

@waytofailself
that’s the point, Horde had/have access to "alliance" rams via the brewfest but the alliance can’t get a horde mount, and there was an expectation that blizzard would even that out with this year’s brewfest. (I’m horde so I don’t care :wink:)

I think the way I phrased it made the opposite point I was trying to: why did blizzard have such a huge discussion about letting alliance have kodos? Horde have rams.  Would the world really end if the alliance got something that was simply cosmetic and doesn’t affect gameplay? (or do they only want Ellks to crush the little gnomes).
