Proudmoore is First US Server to Phase 3

Posted 3rd Apr 2008 10:58 PM by Leord

As of April 2, 21:07 PDT (or 21:50, depending on which reporter you listen to), Proudmoore was the first US server to finish the second phase of the Sunwell Isle Progression quests. It is very likely that the first European servers should be done within the next day as well (as they started about a day after the Americans). You can find out, or report on your server’s progression by going to the US forums, or the fanmade German site with the same name as its creators’ server: Gorgonnash.

      Surprise!  It’s a PvE realm!

Over on our 69% finished PvP realm we’re too busy dealing with raid parties of either faction picking people off while they try to kill demons, convert robots, collect mana essence, blow up portals, reclaim mana cells, and kill initiates than to worry about getting to that badge vendor as fast as possible.

I swear, PvP realms are so relaxing.  Come home from a hard day at work and spend 2 hours trying to turn in 6-7 of the new dailies.  I find it more enjoyable to just run heroics and farm kara for badges for when that day finally arrives, probably in the next two weeks.  We’re moving like turtles, I swear.  Every night I check in we’ve progressed another 4 or 5% since the opening of the phase.  Meanwhile, Sunwell Isle is littered with skeletons of all types.  Those of you on PvP realms know what I’m talking about, looks like the skeleton boss in RFK.  Ever since March 25th it’s been like the first night of TBC.

But my guild seems to be no exception, the GM and officers all decided to go out there to Sunwell and spend 4 hours ganking the horde last Saturday.  I mean just camping them all over.  They all came away with over 2000 honor for the night.  So, every time I try to go out there now I can’t quest in peace because of my tag.  So then I have to engage in revenge kills and it never ends.  sigh…  I just want to upgrade my bow.

      pvp server, nuff said.

they even fixed the hunter snake trap bug, so if you roll on a PvE server there is NO way you get ganked if you dont want to.

i seriously consider moving to a PvE server. But that is a matter of personal choice. You made yours, dont complain about it.

Actually, just because you choose to have a "free" realm, where all your actions are possible, you can still choose what to do. You can be an bumhole, or not.

PvP doesn’t mean you automatically have to put up with bumholes, or become one. Yes, often it means that many people who are bumholes go there, and that’s just sad. The server rules also state that ganking and camping is not griefing. I would assume that is to avoid traffic to the GMs, lower the costs. They can’t really intend people to feel bad while playing?

I want to be in a world where me choosing to act honourably will have any sort of impact.

Still, not all servers are full of assholes. Skeletons on Deathwing-EU around Sunwell Isle are scarce. We are still not in phase 3 either.

yes, Leord, but that is a different thing. With joining a PvP server you accept that IF you meet someone who is a bumhole, he can do with you whatever he wants. You create yourself a weakness and all you can do is HOPE that the other one does not abuse it. More often than not, people tend to abuse others weaknesses though.

i am not that kind of guy. i regret sometimes that i chose a pvp server. I act honorably even if i get ganked by the other guy as soon as he is back to full healt and i started to AoE 10 mobs. But i htink of myself as the rare exception of the red = dead mentality.

still, the PvP server was my choice. If anyone is to blame, it is myself who made the choice. not blizzard who created the possibility to choose.
