Stop the File Sharing Stealth Laws

Posted 6th Jul 2008 05:26 AM by Rushster

Hugh over at machinma creators Strange Company are wanting to highlight the changes in European Law which will clamp down on file-sharing which will more than likely affect everyone in Europe whether you are a file sharer or not. For further details on this new piece of legislation head to http://stealth.strangecompany.org/ and to highlight the new law the EU is trying to impose, Strange Company has created a WoW movie that explains it all rather nicely on that page.

Awsome living in Sweden right now, first we get the "FRA" Law, which puts us in the bottom of the list in Europe when it comes to personal integrity, then we might get this on top of that. Nice, time to migrate to Norway.

Hardly being snuck out, I have known about the proposed 3 strikes rule for a year and its already been realised it conflicts with the Human Rights legislation which guarentees free speech (and interpreted to mean unrestricted internet usage) which takes precedence so will lose its first challeneged test case anyway.
