Blizzard has planned account-wide Achievements for the future, but probably not launched with WotLK (let’s hope it’s of a more realistic plan than Guild Housing):

This is a new system that we are still doing a lot of tuning on right now but do plan to expand upon it down the road.[/BLUE]
Another little note about the “World Explorer Achievement”, and that we will be receiving help knowing where to explore:

You will be able to see which zones you haven’t fully explored so you can focus on those areas if you want to complete all of them. Yes, exploring the capital cities of the opposing faction can be a little challenging, but so is killing the faction leaders - it just depends on how much effort you plan to put into it.[/BLUE]
Was worried about this, some areas appear on the map from the reveal of other locations but you dont discover them till you go there, so only knowing your missing one region on the continent of Kalimdor….Yeah
