Uwe Boll NOT Doing Warcraft Movie, Phew!

Uwe Boll, hollywood director of memorable flicks such as… , well, he made In the “Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale”, “Postal” and “Alone in the Dark”, has revealed that Blizzard practically laughed him out of their offices when he enquired about the rights to the Warcraft movie.

Boll is a passionate gamer, but despite his best efforts in the past to make movies based on computer games, his films didn’t quite hit the mark. And he hasn’t taken the criticism lying down; in an interview with MTV, Boll lashed out at the gamers who slated his films:

“You go for it, to please the game fans, but on the other hand if you have the hard core gamers, they live in their own world. And you cannot fulfill their ideas from a video game based movie, it’s impossible,”

“And to be honest, the real gamers are the typical download guys, right? They don’t pay anything for movies, because they illegally download the movies. So why I should please these guys? I need the normal audience.”

Hmm, you’re really going out of your way to claw the gaming audience back aren’t you Uwe? You can read the full article on MTV.com.
