We’re in, the opening ceremony is in a couple of hours but I’ll tell you what we’ve seen so far. Queues. And all of a sudden it seems incredibly obvious that Diablo is holding up a big 3 in the huge image outside the event.
Apart from that, we’ve got our goody bags, and here’s a pretty consistent theme…
That’s a notebook we got. Also in the goody bag is a card similar to the murloc suit from BlizzCon last year, which rewards the attendee with “a new pet for your World of Warcraft Character and entry into the beta test for a future Blizzard title.”
Also in the goody bag is:
- a box with an Orc model for the miniatures game,
- a Dark Portal Started Deck for the Trading Card game,
- a mouse pad with the big image of Diablo, Arthas and Starcraft as seen outside the event,
- a Trading Card Game card,
- lots of leaflets advertising gaming products,
- a 50% discount ticket on WoW clothing,
- a bookmark, postcards featuring WoW, Diablo, Warcraft and Starcraft,
- Starcraft boardgame pieces,
- a thick card image from the WoW comic,
We’re in the busy press area right now, but we can hear the footfalls of thousands of eager fans trooping through beyond the wall. The cinematics from WoW are playing on a large screen somewhere, as I can hear Illidan’s words booming throughout the venue, followed by Arthas’ sombre monologue. We’re heading off to grab seats for the opening ceremony now, I’ll post a shot of the “revelation” the moment it happens, stay tuned!
Update: I’ve just heard they have green screens upstairs which can make you look like a character from Blizzard games, I’ll investigate and update everyone asap!
