A report on Yahoo Tech focuses on the downtime currently being experienced by Chinese WoW players as Blizzard change providers from The9 to Netease. The servers have been offline since June 7th which has no doubt sent many a Chinese WoW player into a blind panic. Blizzard has not yet given a date as to when the servers will go back online.
The article also mentions that other Chinese MMOs have suddenly upped their advertising to try and pull away players from WoW to new games while the servers are offline and many Chinese WoW players have migrated to the Taiwanese servers to get their daily dose of WoW game time. According to Blizzard all the new hardware has been installed so hopefully it shouldn’t be too long until WoW is back up and running again.
