How Dedicated are you to your chosen faction?

Hi Everyone! :howdy:

One more poll on factions. We've established that WoW.net has a leaning towards the horde, as I predicted, around 65/35, which is fairly significant. This new poll will be an effort to determine the level of intensity the members' dedication is to their chosen faction. Please note that being "fanatically loyal" does not mean you'll never experiment with the other faction. It's more of an ideology/preference thing. Have fun. ;)

Im a big Horde supporter myself, but I know ill make a dwarf someday. I could seem myself making a char of each of the horde races, but only would make a dware char on the alliance side.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I'll play whichever faction is least popular. So I voted that I like both equally. I just like the challenge of being the underdog. The asthetics of each Faction are not as important. Though to be honest generally I find myself playing humans in most games.

Hoard have the best choices for character, but Alliance have paladins as well as humans and night elves, so they will always be more popular. Personally i am going to play both as much as possible :D

I have played every race. On the PvE server I have, in order of creating and playing:
Dwarf Paladin
Troll Shaman (my main)
Human Priestess (my wife)
Undead Warlock
Gnome Mage
Night Elf Druid
Tauren Warrior
Orc Rouge

After playing these races and classes, I realized I don't care for the strictly melee classes or the Paladin (which was my second choice after Hunter). I also learned that the Alliance side is way too corrupt and not nearly as hospitable as the Horde side.
That's why when I went PvP, my characters are:
Tauren Druid
Troll Shaman (my main)
Undead Warlock
Human Priestess (my wife)
and I will have my Orc Hunter

My wife is loyal to the Alliance only cause "the Horde people look ugly!" Haven't been able to talk her into sportin' a pair of tusks yet.

It is far better to just roll into a village with your trusty war axe and pillage a pretty bootie once in a while.

I'm Forsaken, and glad of it. Since I was risen, I was able to witness both sides of the issue, and my eyes were open to the blatant racism that is the only cause for the Alliance to be antagonistic to the horde. Humans, Dwarves, and Gnomes, for all their goodness as a people, have consistently ignored rational thought in order to attack other races that don't fit into their narrow perception of "humanity." In my career as an Anthropologist (which I continue even as undead), I've catalogued countless instances in which the Alliance committed Dracocide, Kobold exterminations, and decimated populations of local semi-sentient races. The Alliance is responsible for the extinction of at least 57 Tribes of Murloc, 29 different tribes of Gnolls, 17 tribes of Troll, 3 tribes of Ogre, and at least one species of intelligent tree spider. Orcs and their allies have fled the shores of Lordaeron and Azeroth, but the Alliance insists on pursueing them even to the shores of Kalimdor, intent on extermination, even if they do not declare outright war.

The Horde, on the otherhand, is an alliance of all-inclusive races, especially for races that don't fit into the narrow perception of "civilized" or "humanoid" or "like us" that the Alliance clings to. Orcs, Trolls, Tauren, all are examples of intelligent races that deviate from the Alliance's visual standards and who harbor native religions that don't fit into the exclusive Alliance moral code. The Alliance merely wants to exterminate the Horde not for past wrongs, (indeed, on another continent and re-awoken from their Demonic stupor, Orcs go out of their way to avoid the mistakes of the past) but merely because the Alliance's misunderstanding of other races takes form in the most convenient and immature form: racial hatred.

Compare the most radical members of both factions. The Horde has elected to extend a helping hand to us Forsaken, despite harborings of misgivings. They're giving us the benefit of the doubt, because they don't immediately base their opinions on races because of their appearance. Meanwhile, the Alliance includes the Nightelves, just purple skinned versions of humans who are prettier, and have slightly different ears. It turns out that the Night Elves, forever distrustful of other races, are even more exclusionary than the Alliance (notwithstanding their off-handed treatment of the furbolgs).

Simply put, not only does the Horde not suffer from the homogeneity of the Alliance, but they hold onto their own cultures and ideals, they welcome other races, they withhold their judgements, and they're simply more interesting as a culture and people, more varied from orcs to trolls to tauren, and of course... they're the good guys.

I'm going to be Undead Warrior... I love the Undead and I love Warriors... I will later on be a different class but that's once I'm like level 18 Warrior... Then I'll go on to be a spell caster ^.^ =P But I always will have a certain char at least 5 levels higher then the other ( My Undead Warrior will be the highest level char I have... Until I max him then I'll just make him more powerful with his weapons etc. )

I hate the Alliance... A. They all killed Thrall and all of the people in the Orcish city... I like Thrall and he's okay but they got like 80+ people on 1 place of 20 people that are level 18's and the Alliance is level 22+... B. I'm the Undead lover ^.^ C. I love to kill them so why not do it?

I initially wanted to play alliance races and to have at least 1 undead character. The horde races really didn't interest me, and I don't know why but the Tauren least of all. Now that I am in beta however, I cannot play alliance races.

Where I expected humans to be valiant warriors defending their lands, they are petty, greedy and corrupt instead. And while I expected the horde races to be mean and cruel (which is true for the undead) the 3 other races of the horde want nothing more than to find their own homeland and are helping each other to do it.

Also of note, that on the Beta server at least, the alliance outnumber the horde by a great deal. They frequently attack our towns, killing quest mobs, auctioneers, bankers etc. Basically these "noble" warriors are all griefing the horde players. Yet another reason why the horde is now my favorite faction to play.

The horde is slowly catching up though, the alliance have been routed on more than a couple occasions of late, and we're only getting stronger :)

I wish there were some way to communicate to alliance as horde and vice versa, currently undead have to play translaters for any conversation to take place.

I wish you could learn common or orcish for skill points (lets say a lot of them, so it doesnt diminish from the undeas unique ability to do so). Maybe 1000 sp?

Is there a way to tell how many people are on each faction in a particular server? Does Blizzard post statistics of stuff like that? Most populus faction, most popular race/class etc.?

It finally happened... I gots my wife to go Horde!!!
After she read all the garbage the Alliance was doing and saying, she's gotten very P.O.ed at them. She can't understand how someone can choose what's supposed to be a respectable race, and yet play it so "WRONG!" She even insisted on playing her new Horde characters on the PvP server so she can witness how evil the Alliance is first hand. So if you're runnin' around in the newbie Horde areas, keep an eye open for her and say "Hi!" :)

I'm Horde all the way. To me, they're much more interesting than Alliance, appearance and story-wise.
