Its nice to see that Blizzard have commented on the progress of the Beta. Personally I read 'soon' as being tomorrow or the day after, rather than today. It does feel though like they haven't had a really big push of emails yet. I didn't follow the official boards when the US went live but I've heard there were far more people posting when beta kicked off over there.

Part of me is hoping the Euro beta is more about stress testing and internationalisation rather than bug hunting and that hope is that Blizzard want to get as many people playing as soon as possible.

This is my theory I use to convince myself that a beta mail is on its way:

The servers weren't quite ready, but to keep their promise of a beta start in September, they launched the beta at 23.56. Since the servers weren't ready though, they sent out a limited numbers of invites until the servers are stable, then they'll send out a huge wave. This fits with the limited number of players and the problems they report, such as slow download and unstable servers.

Its nice to see that the current beta testers are posting on the official forums asking about forthcoming email invites. They're feeling lonely and want Blizzard to increase the populations on the servers just as much as we want in from the outside! :) Well, ok maybe not as much!

From the looks of it, the number of players in the euro beta server (not counting the PVP server) is getting towards the 1000s. Problem is, I'm not sure that I cant see how many horde players are online. It just shows all the alliance players (I'm alliance).

The PvP server seems a little empty. I play Horde on the PvP and Alliance on PvE and on the PvP server I can go a LONG time without seeing anyone else right now. The PvE server definitely has a much bigger population.

That's a bit depressing if true :( I've been hoping and guessing from the official forum posts that numbers were fairly low at this stage.

The tram was broken, I tried it the other day and it didn't work. Tried it again today and all worked fine and allowed me to finish my quest. Also, ironforge is peanuts compared to stormwind. Well, not peanuts, but its less freaking awesome.

I figured the tram was triggered by a quest. It didn't work, then I got a quest that required me to go to stormwind (I'm a dwarf) and it worked.

Oh and I'm having a whale of a time. I changed to Dwarven Hunter and just got it to Level 14, I have a Level 13 Boar pet (will get it to lvl 14 easy) that has a Loyalty rating of 5 last time I checked.

I have level 54 Engineering and ~Level 50 mining. However I suck at cooking and fishing!

I loved fishing in wow! as a hunter its essential imo for cats/crocs and any other pet that likes fish for food :D also the chests and loot you can get out of the sea is a nice plus too :)

I don't think you can patch up from US Beta Phase 3. I tried and had no luck.
The patch needed has been taken offline I think. Download the offical EU client if you can.

Here is a little update on my journey so far:

I teamed up with OddJob and did some serious questing and hunting on sunday. We played all day,evening and until 6 AM. :surprise:

On monday I played mostly alone, but met up with OddJob in Westfall. We had different quests to do, so we split up. I finished up some low level quests around Elwyn forest and then headed back to Westfall for some bigger quests.

Teamed up with Meisterpro and Goggepogge for the Defias quests.. We just barely pulled off the last quest before we all had to go. It was getting late.

Right now I am a level 15 mage, not very far from lvl 16. I haven't collected the reward from the last big quest, so that will maybe push me over :)

I have had NO LUCK whatsoever with fishing. When I press the mousebutton to catch whatever is biting nothing happens. I've tried this alot in many different ways. Doesn't even work in the lowest of zones.

My herbalism skills are closing in on lvl 100, and so does my alchemy skills.
Cooking is close to 50.

All the running is a bit of a drag, but you kinda get used to it.
Deeprun tram works for me. But me and OddJob had a problem with it the first time. But when we returned later it worked.

I had some strange crashes when I was just running around....in different places. Other than that it seems very stable. My latency was from 90-120ms.

The population exploded on monday it seemed. At least from what I could tell. On sunday you happened to meet people here and there. But now the cities actually get a bit crowded at the evening. Which is nice :)

I been making a nice living selling guns I made to newbie hunters today. The guns are worth ~8s, I sell them for 5-6s, but they only cost me 2s to make. Trying to get my engineering up to a really high standard because at the moment the stuff I find tends to be better than the stuff I can make.

I did because I got sent the right key first time round. I recieved an email with a working key within 30 minutes. Dunno how quick it would've been if I was the only one with a problem though.
