I signed up to file planet, and then I went to the registration page, and got a page saying that I'd been successful and my key would be sent out in groups. No problem there - although from the way a lot of people have been talking I get the feeling that I should have had an email saying I'd been accepted - and then hours later get a second email with my key and a download link.

Anyway, if someone could please clarify this for me, I'd appreciate it!

First email is the one that says like welcome to gamespy or what ever. The second email is the one where they give you the key used to download wow.

(on 3mb dl cable modem, capped my upload at 26kbs.)

yes you can angrymob, go here and get the raw torrent. then dl it useing your own bit torrent client and not blizzards. (blizzards sucks :P )

Don't feel too bad. I've signed up for the stress test about 5 hours ago. Since then, I have received two junk mails from FP: one was from Fileplanet Weekly and the other one was from GameSpy Customer Service offering me a discount of 25% for a yearly subscription.

I still haven't received my e-mail about this "myterious" key that I am supposed to receive.

they knew it would be big because they've done a previous stress test and got overloaded with that one too.

but remember, they are guarenteeing you'll be in one week before the open beta, so the open beta should get delayed until all the FilePlanet extrotion victims are in the game for a week.

Thanks for the reply, tho you kind of confused me. What I did was go to fileplanet, click on the subscription page, chose the $7.90 monthy plan. I then got the insta- confirmation email. I was confused at this point as there was nothing about the beta. Then I clicked on the sweepstakes button and got the beta application page, which I filled out. I then was forwarded to the congrats screen saying I was now guaranteed a beta key. And here I am waiting for the key to be emailed. Odd series of steps but then FP was very confusing in the way they set this whole thing up.

Ill try your link and do it that way and see if it makes a difference. Thanks!

that link is the exact same as the sweepstakes link. both are the same thing. FP has about a dozen links that all go to the same thing.
until you get that email though, you ain't getting no key and thus, you ain't playing crap all except the waiting game.

Now in regards to some other ppl i have noticed post about how they keep refering to how they "paid for their key" I hope you realise unlike some of my other idiot friends that you actually just paid for file planet and that the key is garunteed to you but with all the new subscribers just for this you may not get your key for another day or so if your unlucky (took me 3 days to get my EQ2 key delivered to me cause there were so many ppl waiting). Now also all of you that didnt know you can download the client from file planet before you actually get your key so you can download it tonight. All you have to do is search FP for warcraft and go to WORLD OF WARCRAFT link, then click on game clients and download the final stress test client. hope this will let some of you get to sleep tonight and clear up some confusion

I tried doing that exact thing and it just kept taking me from the DL link to the beta application screen. Do you have a link to FP that will allow me to DL the client right now without redirecting me?

LOL i had that issue too, I think it had something to do with what i had in my cache, so you might wanna try clearing your internet history and temp files then trying again. I personally just tried it about every 10 minutes and on my 3rd try it just randomly worked, i didnt do anything different, and about 5 minutes after that i got my key. Also a little trick you might try is re-submitting your signup since you will get the same key no matter how many times you do it with your account and ocasionally you will get your key on the page that says that the emails will be sent out in batches, that is what i did and the second time i submited my application about an hour after i got the notice about emails getting sent out i got my key on that page instead of the notice. Not to get your hopes up or anything though :P

Mekrith actually i didnt get the email with the key till 3 hours after i started downloading and saw my key by resubmitting my signup. so it can actually save you quite a bit of time between when your account gets the info on it and when the email actually gets sent out.

no, the direct link is what i gave out at the top of my three links. that is a direct download link. there are many decoy redirect links along the way, but that is the final link for the actual file from a server.

no, no email from FP yet

i got the FilePlanet download from the middle link on their forums, someone was nice enough to post it.

i'm using the bottom link since i haven't got the email yet, so it will probably finish before i get a key from FP.

and the problem with the direct link to the servers is that it redirects you unless you have the key in your key listing. until then, it's a useless link. that's why the direct file link i gave is useful since you can get it as long as you are a subscriber.

no, no email from FP yet

i got the FilePlanet download from the middle link on their forums, someone was nice enough to post it.

i'm using the bottom link since i haven't got the email yet, so it will probably finish before i get a key from FP.

and the problem with the direct link to the servers is that it redirects you unless you have the key in your key listing. until then, it's a useless link. that's why the direct file link i gave is useful since you can get it as long as you are a subscriber.

no, the direct link is what i gave out at the top of my three links. that is a direct download link. there are many decoy redirect links along the way, but that is the final link for the actual file from a server.

try it, it works (for now).

Ok,i've managed to enter the wow fileplanet download system with my basic gamespy account,at least i'll be able to have the client when open beta starts,i think you have to wait in line until your time comes,so,how many hours would that be?one?two?

Really? ... I sighned up and got my key about 5 hours later.. I never got a 2nd e-mail with my key. If its any consolation Ive gone over my download limit and am stuck downloading 2 gigs on a 76k modem.. estimated time left 2 days..

When I signed up I clicked the "yes, and I want to join the wow beta" or however it was written. So assuming by that that I did indeed sign up for it, I still havnt gotten my key. I went into the contest thing this morning and got the congrats page, so I will be getting a key, it's just a matter of when it will show up. I did check my beta key archive and nothing is there.

well anyway,i did sign up with EU address and they did say that key is Guaranteed!! after i had signed up so i guess well get the key, then we just have to use US proxy to get past the account creation in wow site.

I signed up a bit before that. . . been waiting 14 hrs for my key. I finally received an email from GameSpy saying "Welcome. . . " Last night I was able to signup for the ST on fileplanet; Can't remember if that page said Congrats, but it did say that the keys would be released in batches due to the overwhelming traffic fileplanet was getting. It also said not to sign up multiple times because that would bog down the process.

Depend on how fast your connection is and if you have a subscription account on FP, if you got both I would say you just start the FP download, because im downloadning between 100kb/200kb, I have been downloading now for around 3-4 hours or something 85 % now.
But still no key, so nothing I can do about I still have to wait some more I guess... :)

I had that congrats page, but no luck with the beta key. goin on 8 hours, I feel for you guys that've been waiting 14+. On a side note, it doesn't help that File Planet can get me a quick response (about an hour) to some "constructive critisism" I sent them, but still no beta key. :rant:

nope , I think it depend on how early you signed up, because I got the msg "you are guarantied a beta key......." msg, and told me there are gonna send the keys out in groups because of the all trafic.... really anoying waiting with no information when, and were told PLAY INSTANTLY, PLAY TODAY......
