This is by far one of the most dishonest, shiesty things I have ever seen a company pull...and they are going to get away with it, and the vast majority of people arent even going to see through it all.

Blizz is a buisness, and they have to make money. I cant argue with that, I like to my money in my business too. But I dont resort to lying. And I dont resort to making customers go out of their way to justify my lying.

According to blizz:

"Blizzard is not charging a fee to play the final stress test or the open beta. However, to help defray the costs associated with distributing a large number of files and to keep our focus on finalizing World of Warcraft, we have partnered with FilePlanet for the distribution of the final stress test client, which is only available to FilePlanet subscribers. Subscription to FilePlanet carries with it a nominal fee."

Bullsh*t. As any idiot could tell you, and according to blizz themselves:

"Also note that the client that you download will NOT be noticeably different from the last version of the beta that you played."

Because the VAST VAST MAJORITY of what youre downloading is textures, art, music etc, that HASNT CHANGED. There is absolutely NO TECHNICAL REASON why they couldnt patch the game.

But there is a very good reason why they wont....because if you could just patch the game, there would be absolutely no justification for fileplanet, and therefore, they dont get their cut.

I would rather have had blizz flat out charged for the damn stress test.

What could have happened:
I pay blizz and get key
I patch game
I play

5 minutes tops. I'm a little irked that I had to pay, but at least I get to play.

What really did happen:

I sign up for fileplanet's 17 quarterly, because that was the only option.

The server crashes after the payment page.

I check my account, and I get double charged, and fileplanet's site doesnt recognize my subscription.

I try to go through it again, and THEN I find out that if I deny the quarterly sub, I get offered a monthly sub. THANKS FOR TELLING ME THAT BEFORE YOU F&CKS.

An hour later, I finally get recognized, and think finally, I can DL and play.

I sign up, and then find out that I now have to wait for my key. THE ENTIRE POINT IS FILEPLANET IS THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO WAIT!!!!

Two hours later, I FINALLY get my key. Mind you, by this time, the bitorrent download is almost 33% done. I start to download, and because of the massive size, it is going to take 2 hours to download....BT had only 3 hours left on it anyway.

And now my roomates are complaining that the connection is going to be basically dead for the next two hours.

I'm still double charged, and I'm still not playing. You got my money. Now youre wasting my time. Why the hell do we all have to redownload everything again just to justify your BS?

Just be honest, come out and say we want to make some money, and let people play. I have a fast connection...for many people, they wont be able to finish downloading until tomorrow. If they even get their key by tomorrow. Plus they hide the cheap option they they know the vast majority of people would opt for because they dont need POS fileplanet!

There is another greak addition to this story! I got home from work and read about fileplanet. Not knowing how much it would actually cost me or anything, I went through their links until I got some prices. $60 for a year, $15.99 for a quarter, and a tiny hidden link for monthly for $7.90. I laughed at the high prices and went to take a shower. Showered for 7 minutes, came back and hit reload for fun. Oh my, now the quarterly costs $16.90. Yearly hadn't changed yet, and the link to monthly was completely missing. Fileplanet knows how to profiteer with the best of them! Everyone who said the greedy goblins weren't playable characters in WoW has been proven wrong! They're the guys over at Fileplanet and Blizzard who conjured this scheme. :clap:

I want to pay for it, so I can play it. But I paid, and I'm not playing. I'm almost down downloading, and it doesnt even look like Ill be able to create an account.

And not only am I not getting what I paid for, I'm double charged, and they purposefully hid the lower cost option. And its not even god damn necessary to begin with, and I know it, and no amount of bs can convince me that we had to redownload 2.5gb for any reason other than to justify fileplanet.

If youre not complaining about this, then YOURE AN IDIOT, because you should be. This is taking advantage of people, plain and simple. If youre going to make people pay for something, then you have to give them what theyre paying for!

I got my key about 1.5 hours after I signed up. That was much earlier though.

And Lux, it has taken me 4 hours to download the client, it has stopped at least 6 times :(. You can simply close the download and restart it and pick up where you left off, but that is hard to do in your sleep :(

Blizzard is not to blame for this.

Blizzard wants to do another stress test and team up with fileplanet.

Fileplanet is running the show with the WoW CD-keys and poor service.

Fileplanet is doing the shafting to all these people. Blizzard has no control over Fileplanet's service, servers, or how they handle distrubution.

The reality is that this is not exactly a standard day's work for a company like IGN or Fileplanet. They are simply not large enough to bring on extra people or add new technology to handle a request as large as what blizzard is asking of them, so they are forced to go with what they have. I work for a fortune 100 company and we don't even bring on extra staff during our busiest time of year, and you know what, some of our clients get totally banged in the piehole, but the economic reality is that we keep alot more than we lose, so the company comes out ahead, even more ahead for the fact that we didn't spend the resources to train more people. In other words, while it's not a great situation, far from it, it's just basically an economic issue, not FilePlanet's personal desire to steal and pillage. Perhaps you would like the government to monitor and subsidize all downloads in the future, that way you wouldn't have to wait and they could easily track and monitor that aspect of your life. While they're at it, perhaps they could tell me what religion I should be too, cause that's always been such a big bother trying to decide...

you cannot download the beta intill you get your key.. unless you wana wait a few days trying to download the bit torrent version. the key in your account is an old stress test key from the first stress test.

I got mine. Signed up for it this afternoon on fileplanet. Been a member for awhile. the word on fileplanet as of today is we get a week to play the stress test before they let non-subscribers in.

there's been some trouble going from the email you get to the download page. If you follow your link and don't go right to the CD Key screen, go and resubmit the signup and it should shoot you over to the right place.

Oh, and the download is 2.5 Gb or so. Yuck.

Edit: I signed up and then my key came about 3 hours later. I am downloading now.

Sorry I got my threads horribly confused. I have heard of people registering 7 or so hours ago and still not getting their first e-mail, so I would just go to bed, get a good nights sleep, and wake up cheery faced to a brand new account (hopefully)

I got my key and was able to start downloading at around 4:50 PM EST, I started up the download and went to work, got back here at 10:45 to find that some ****** in my house closed out of the download window after I told them not to. So now I've got 4 1/2 hrs left, opposed to it being finished by now.

To put it plain and simple, this is pure ********. Its not like Blizzard didn't realize this was going to happen, but the same **** happened last stress test and fileplanet's service was laughable at best. At least you could get your key through your email, and dl the client through blizz, but I guess it's going to take a day (possibly more) to send the emails out. They were prepared for this one, that's for sure. Fileplanet is pure ****, every time i've dealt with them they've been nothing but trouble. Do I feel ripped off? Well I'm getting there, if I don't get my key by tonight or by early tomorrow, so I can play by mid afternoon, then I'm demanding my money back. Granted its only 8 dollars, but I paid it to be able to play WoW for a week, not a few days. Blizzard isn't handling the situation well either, they are pushing it all on fileplanet - why couldn't they have offered it themselves? Another thing which I find laughable is the fact that open beta sign-ups have been advertised in magazines and have been advertised on WoW.com for almost 3 weeks, but no information except for - stress test - but you must pay, oh and by the way, no new patch - it's the same game beta testers have been playing for almost a year, but here pay fileplanet and you can use their horrible service to download our game, and if your lucky you might get a authorization key so you can play the game, but only after you've activated your account which is literally impossible because our website gets gang banged whenever more than 10 people attempt to log on. Enjoy world of warcraft and we hope to see you come release! I'll be a blizzard fan for a long while, but if stuff keeps going like this, I think the video game company that we all viewed as being unique and offering quality products will quickly turn into ****. Here's hoping non-WoW followers don't see this and become turned off, but I have a feeling they shot themselves in the foot.

this isnt a bad idea for blizzard, however I would have to say fileplanet is greedy. I saw that they had out the month subscription and it suddenly vanished. I have the newsletter however that gives me the straight link to the page though, if it still exists. I haven't tested it this afternoon other than the fact I couldn not go straight to it on the webpage. Come on, they arent stupid. IF they can get more money they will do it. I don't agree with it, but thats why I am probably not a business owner, cause I couldn't screw people like that.
But its good for BLizzard because it allows for it to be distrubuted to the masses without having double fold the people trying to crash the server as is what is happening to FP. And next week, we can download the game even though it may take 2 days but it wouldnt be as bad as if it were free today. I wouldnt be sure that FP couldnt handle that much.

I'm pretty blown away that people are willing to throw so much money at a mere week long opportunity to play a game they'll be paying to play (and start over, in all likelihood) in a couple weeks. I understand the draw of the game - I'm as interested as anyone else to get in and try it out - but I don't understand the willingness to feed the ability of companies to take advantage of you all in this way.

As mentioned previously, save your pennies (a mere suggestion :)) and spend them on 2 weeks (if subscription is $15) of continuous play instead of just a week or so of temporary character development.

I was pretty disgusted by this little scheme.

As BD2003 said, theres no reason in the world why they had to repatch the entire couple gigs. I have all the current patches from the original stress test, but apparently they want me to REdownload what I ALREADY have, for no other reason but to make FP some cash. There is no possible way to look at this other then a tight little scheme to make money.

But, as has already been said.. theres enough people eager to play that its going to work. Shame on you Blizzard for exploiting our impatience. Your company has lost a lot of credibility in my eyes and many others, all for the sacred buck.

To those who say it's not blizzard's fault - it is in part. During the first stress test their service was horrible and why go the same route twice? Did they really believe that they were going to get better? They should have at least made sure they were up to snuff before all of this nonsense. Granted if this was Open Beta, I could care less and it wouldn't matter, but the fact that this is paid for is ****ing ridiculous any way you cut it. I don't mind paying the 8 dollars to play the game for the week, it is literally nothing, but to pay the money and not get any type of service out of FP and be told that the keys are going out in groups and you will have to wait your turn, but you can't refund your money because you payed for their service, and not the beta, is shady as can be. I'm disapointed that blizzard did not take matters into their own hands, or just distribute open beta (that they have been promising for several weeks now mind you) and have this as a minor set back. Sadly there is money involved and people are pissed off, either way they cut it a lot of credibility that their company had is going to ****. They aren't stupid, they offered open beta to hopeful players for weeks on end with literally no information at all (when in fact the devs knew what was going on, this whole file planet stress test thing didn't pop up in the last several days - although with the way their company is handling things, it appears they just decided to do this this morning) and then pull a stress test that is only available to fileplanet subscribers. Of course the people itching to play this game are going to shell it out, it's 8 dollars and think about it, a week of solid gaming for 8 dollars is GOOD and it's less than a rented game would cost for that length of time, but sadly fileplanet did not deliver on what they had promised, and what they continue to promise on their homepage after their servers have been melted into a puddle of goo. Real class acts I'll tell yah, and out of convinence, the WoW homepage just happens to be "unavailable" at this time.

Thank you for this very logical post in this thread, all the rest have been mindless Blizzard bashing because people want this game so bad it is driving them clinically insane. Guys you need to get a hobby or something. I was spamming F5 on the main WoW site, and as soon as they posted fileplanet for ST accts, I went and signed up. (Earlier in the day I signed up for the $15 subscription). As soon as I clicked submit, the bottom of the webpage had my CDKEY and it was emailed to me.

My friend who signed up 1 hour later got the "you have been put into a group to get keys in stages" response.

I also got to download from fileplanet at 3Mbps and got the 2.6Gig in 3 hrs.

For once, I caught a break by beating the surge that later hammered the server.

I got my key immediately on screen when I first signed up for stress test yesterday at 4:15 EST. My husband wasn't so lucky. He wasn't a subscriber, so we had to subscribe him and couldn't get a verification for the subscription. So that delay cost him time. Finally at 6:15 he was able to request stress test key. When we went to bed at 12:30 EST he still hadn't gotten the key. He did have it when we got up at 5:15 am EST though. No email was ever received, we just kept checking his fileplanet issued keys page under account management. :drink:

So I'm not sure how good the guarantee by FP is with the server being so hammered yesterday. I hope those that persisted did get their keys. It's going to be a large mess if alot of people didn't though. *sigh*

Okay there is a lot of FP hating. But how about we turn that energy to help each other. To start. All of the FP subscribers that got ST2 already please list the steps of things you did.
The same goes for the ppls that didn't get the keys, etc.

Okay here is what happened to me:

1) Signed up for quarterly subscription at around 5pm (Call me stupid, but I actually was planning on signing up anyways, I like the servers that FP's got)

2) Got a email about the order is processed right a way.

(Now I obssessively checked FP site and there seem to be some cookies issue that is preventing the site to recognize that I am registered... )

3) about an hour later I got an email thanking me for subscription. At this time I went to the site (cleared all the cookies and temp files etc.) and was able to get to the "signup for OB" page. I filled in my info, and got to a page telling me the keys are sent out in batches please be patient.

(At first I was pissed, then I realized the amt of traffic they are getting right now, and figured whatever I will just try to sleep a bit prep for WOW ;) )

4) But I am not a patient man... So within like 5 min of waiting, I sent the FP support a email via their online support system: http://support.gamespy.com/?
Asking them to at least tell me a approx ETA of keys.

5) Got a automated reply assuring me that they value my subscription, etc. etc.

5) About 15 min later I got an email saying my key is ready and directed me to that same "signup for OB" page. But this time it led me to cd-key and a download link.

6) Started the download around 8pm and the ETA was almost 4 hours... So I set my alarm for 11pm and went to sleep.

7) When I woke up the download is already finished for like 30 min... (Yeah I was suprised how fast it went...)

8) While waiting for installed I signed a good friend of my up for a month subscription as a gift. He was much more patient then I am, and suprising he got started with downloading in little more then 2 hours... (some people)

The rest is history ;)

Okay so to those that didn't get the key yet, I HIGHLY recomand you emailing them and state your frustration politely.

My email with key info came about 8 pm eastern last night, I immediately went to obtain my key. then the minor problems started. I got linked back to the signup page. Hmm.

I re-read my email and it told me that if this happened, to just signup again and it should take me through.

Ok, I signed up a second time, and this time I got linked to the FP subscription signup page. Another hmm, I'm a Founder's Club member already.

So, I closed the browser, went back into the email, followed the link and this time it took me right to the key page.

Got may kay and went and started the download. It told me the 2.5 Gigs would take about 12 hours, so I left it and later went to bed. When I woke up this morning it was all done.

I double clicked the file, let Windows extraxct it, and 1/2 hour later I was at the account creation screen.

So that's it. I now have an account and can login. The Fileplanet process required a little diligence, but all in all it worked well and I'm darn glad to be here.

The only problem I really had was, I let the game suggest a Realm for me. I thought that meant Horde or alliance, and I was going to choose the PvP server. So now I am on Realm 12. Likely PvE. If there is a way to go back and make a char on the PvP server, could anyone let me know?

I'm also waiting for my key...all day today...but "day" here is "night" back home=). I moved to Israel about a month ago. About Europeans...when you sign up for your account you might have to provide credit card information from your country. That's the method they told us they would use for retail for assuring Americans play on American servers, etc. Don't know if they want to test that now.

Hope I can play! When retail comes out I'm getting the US East version because I just can't wait till the European one comes out. So if you see someone on at 12-6 in the morning it might be me.

I'm in the UK and I've been signed up for FilePlanet for a year or so. I applied for the beta at 11pm GMT yesterday and got my key at 2am today (though I didn't start the download until 11am today). I've used my key to set up an account on the Blizzard site, and have my username and password for accessing the game. I used my normal, EU-resident address and there were no problems. Download isn't done yet, but I can't see why I won't be able to play, so I think people from europe shouldn't worry.. nothing on the Blizzard site seems to limit the beta to US/NZ/Aus residents, the only limit they've put on seems to be you need to be over 18.

Exactly, I know it is dissapointing to pay, then hear nothing. My bf signed up both up last night. We got to the page stating we were in and that FP was bogged down so keys would be sent in batches blah, blah, blah.

I havent received my 2nd email yet. But I have been checking the FP "My Acoount" page, and my key just arrived about 20 minutes ago. I am downloading the client now.
My best advice, is to just kick back and relax. FP will get to everyone, they just underestimated the horde of crack fiend like WoW fans that hit them.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but you can also check for your key on the fileplanet website. Go to "My Account" and then "Beta keys Archive" to see if a key was applied to your account. It will show the game and the key they sent you. Very handy if you don't trust your email account or if you use a service that doesn't update frequently.

There is a disclaimer at the bottem of the sign up page that "*This beta is only available to residents of North America [US & Canada, not sure about Mexico], New Zealand and Australia.". I personally don't care if EU sign up, just don't be surprised if anything doesn't work or you are cut off at any time.

I've got an interesting situation though. I don't have internet in my apartment yet so I can only d/l while I'm at the library. The library closes at 9 so today, cause I had to do some things, I'll get like 4-5 hours of d/l time. It'll take me like 12-18 hours from fileplanet to get it all. I can't shut down my laptop though because fileplanet lets you resume if your connection crashes but I get an error if I try to restart the d/l after my computer shuts down.

So I'll try to finish the d/l tomorrow...but my adapter is a little screwed up. There's a gash in the insulation so I gotta make it just right so my comp charges. Sometimes though the thing shorts and my comp shuts down to be safe. Yay. So if this happens tomorrow I'll lose my whole damn d/l. And I can't spend about 15 consecutive hours in the library, I'll go crazy.

Yup, no kidding. Costs same or less than a movie at the theater ($8 around here). I can understand, the issue for those in dire financial straits - I was a poor student once and I remember well. However, when you're prepared to spend $50 on the game in a couple weeks or so (and maybe buy the collectors edition) and then pay $15 per month to play.... Well, just give me a break and stop being such cheap skates.

You get to play roughly for free and you pay a fee to offset download costs. Sure it helps Blizzard, but you also get to play. FP gets a few new subscribers (though admittedly they sure aren't impressing them at the moment). And it's pretty much a win win for everyone.

That sign-up page led me to a Congrats page which said I was guaranteed a key and that they were being released in groups.

18+ hours later I am still waiting for my group to be released. . . *shrugs*

If it doesn't happen I just lost $8

Hang in there, that's what happened to me as well. Keep checking your "Archived Beta Keys" section under "My account". Once it appears there, there will be an emil waiting for you with instrucitons on how to get your key and download.

Be sure to read it carefully, it tells you tricks to try if it doesn't give you a key right away.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but you can also check for your key on the fileplanet website. Go to "My Account" and then "Beta keys Archive" to see if a key was applied to your account. It will show the game and the key they sent you. Very handy if you don't trust your email account or if you use a service that doesn't update frequently.

There is a disclaimer at the bottem of the sign up page that "*This beta is only available to residents of North America [US & Canada, not sure about Mexico], New Zealand and Australia.". I personally don't care if EU sign up, just don't be surprised if anything doesn't work or you are cut off at any time.

well the thing, they can't do that. In the last stress in was in the news "Northamerican stress test only"
In this stress news's there havent been mentioned ANYTHING about non us could sign at all, and all the EU that signed got the "you are by guarantied a beta key".
And if thats true it's the lowest from fileplanet from this date, because giving people info that it is only for those when you have payed for your basic members ship and trying to sign up... maybe it's just me :)

heh no kidding. 42% at a fluctuating 10.0 - 35.0 KB/s with the estimated time fluctuating with each drop. Could say 19 hours left then drops and hits 1 day 9 hours left. And they may be laughing at us CBers complaining now, but wait till retail when every patch ends up doing what the downloader is doing then. This is the worse idea blizzard has ever had and there are other alternatives they could of used out there such as ftp, bit tornado would of been perfect as well. But as it stands fileplanet was never any good for anything and this downloader is obviously the leftover steaming pile of fecus from a black dragon or something cuz man I can't believe how slow this is. Here I am with cable and getting this speed? It's like forcing high speed folks to download at dialup speeds.

Mines done (about 20 hours total) but the installer is stuck on "Installing: terrain.mpq" for the past half hour :scratch:

It was funny because I averaged probably 30-40 kbps download and like 100 kbps upload....... Im glad you freeloaders enjoyed the ride :grrr: :p

Another thing I noticed.... my download continued after 100% and kept saying I was downloading more kb in one display but the other just sat there... so I stopped it - hope that didn't screw up my files and make me download that all again :cheesy:

Here's a tip that I learned the hard way. If the signup process returns an error, DO NOT sign up again. That's how I ended up with FOUR (4) (IV) FilePlanet subscriptions.

And yes, it takes forever to get the beta key, and it takes just a little short of forever for FilePlanet to even recognize that your account has a subscription. Seems like patience is the key. Well, that and the string of characters that get you into the beta ...

I e-mailed the customer service telling them I had been waiting 16ish hours (since 7pm est) and that I wasn't able to use ANY kind of premium product on the website at this point. I got a canned reply sayinga real person would reply within 2 days.

I'm figuring the mail will help if I reset myself by going in to fill out the contest page. Either way I have WoW downloaded and installed and if you choose the option that you already have an account you can watch the intro move, which is kinda cool. then watch it again or exit out and wait.

Took two hours to download and a really long install time.

It is a sad day that blizz has teamed up with a truely deceptive company, and I have to give them a good deal of the blame as well for letting it happen.

I accept the fact that blizz was a bunch of bastards, and forced me to sign up with fileplanet in order to play. But FP DID NOT hold up their end of the bargain. Most people still have not received what they PAID FOR!!!

Luckily I finally got in and have been playing for a while, but the servers are SO EMPTY its not even funny. Most of the people Ive seen were CBers.

A not on Blizzards BT client, its speeds are wrong, I have reached 59k/b upload, this is not possible because I am capped at 40k up, and 350k down. Farking ADSL! And have tried ALOT to break the cap and never have been successful. So your upload might not be as enormouse as it says.

OH btw I didnt get into ST. I just got the Downloader from a friend so the second it all goes open beta I can just jump in :) . That way im garanteed a OB slot!

1. come home from work at 9:15pm, check wow.com and see if you can subscribe you can get in wow stress test

2. by 9:30 i paid 15 dollars for an account and recieve the reciept email

3. then i apply for the wow st not yet realizing that i was supposed to get a second email welcoming me to fileplanet (till i read this post)

4. 12:36 pm the next day still no welcome email, no cd key, alot of lost love for blizzard and alot of hate for fileplanet for quick charging and slow services

Heh! I'm getting an average of 32 kilobytes/sec through FilePlanet. Their "Download Manager" stupidity estimates it will take another 17 hours to download the file. *chuckles*

I thought I read somewhere in their advertising that as a paying subscriber you would be able to download files "at the full speed of your ISP"... Hmm, odd. I started downloading an ATI driver (42mb file) off of ati.com and I'm getting 871 kilobytes/sec. :)

Agreed, I'm comparing apples and oranges -- ati.com would be dead if they would get 1% of the traffic coming off of FP -- but man would I love it if FP was indeed allowing me to grab files "at the full speed of my ISP". That 2.5gb file would take me 50 minutes. :D

Not sure this happend to anyone esle though it did happen to a buddy of mine. About ever Half hour the download would cut out and I would have to restart it. I'm glad I upgraded my connection to 2mb DL it took only 4 hours to dl but I was glued in front of my computer to make sure that the download did not stop. This could be a problem for those who have 1mb and 10 hours to go!!!

Actually -- right now the Blizzard torrent-based installer is about twice as fast as the FilePlanet "thank-you-for-subscribing-and-giving-us-money-so-that-you-can-have-the-privilege-of-having-our-sponsors-pay-us-for-showing-you-ads-while-you-download" ActiveX downloader. I'm going to leave both running this afternoon and see who "wins". The FP downloader has a 50MB running start.

I predict Blizzard's BT-based installer will win. I have no upload cap on my home line, torrents usually give me around 900 KB/s download and 750 KB/s upload at their peak. Let's see if Blizzard's will perform this well :)

ZOMG -- situation update -- the Blizzard torrent-based downloader is blowing FilePlanet's stupidity out of the water. Right now I'm downloading at 140 KB/s and uploading at 120 KB/s. It fluctuates a lot but it's a LOT faster than the FP downloader.

OMFG are you even listening to yourself. Blizz did not FORCE you to sign up with File planet for you to play WoW they said hey there will be an open beta in a week but we are gonna go ahead and offer the Second stress test to our old closed beta testers and to current File planet subscribers a week earlier so that they could get good feedback on new stuff that is in this last patch like hunter and paladin talents to offer an even more quality game for every one in FREE open beta. Blizzard never intended for 80 bazillion ppl to go out and buy FP subscriptions to play a week early just like im sure FP didnt expect either cause they figured you have all been waiting over a year for this damn product already whats one more damn week. Now as to the the comment about PPL not getting "WHAT THEY PAID FOR!!!" you must be the stupidest person on earth. All you paid for is a File planet subscription and YOU DID GET A FILE PLANET SUBSCRIPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This WoW second stress test was just a tiny portion of that stress test and all FP said is that you would get a key, now no where in there add did they ever say sign up now and you will get your authentication key IMEDIATELY and if you didnt expect there to be a delay then you deserve to be one of the last damn ppl on. Well, I was in the "first" stress test, but Blizzard seems to have chose to say "forget you" (reference to Network verion of 'Major League) and not continue my fascination with WoW.

I chose not to give in to the F****** P******* at (unmentionables) and actually pay for their on-line rag, so I spent a good five minutes typing in my anti-authentication Key [STRESS-TEST-PLANET-FILE-YURASS] with no good results, other than releaving my frustration.

I entertailed a thought to do the old "give a monkey a thousand years and a typewriter in order to author a novel" treatment and "just happen" upon a Key code without benefit of an email message.

Let's see, 26 to the power of 26 equals ... .... .... - well, a very big number. I guess that if someone can build a BOT to advertise their trading webside on Blizzard's game servers, someone should be able to "come up" with a few "valid" keys.

As for me, I'm heading back to the D2X/LOD Ladder - waiting to get in line for the Open Beta line to form.

Grats everyone who has finally gotten thier key!! I'm glad to know keys are indeed still being sent out, thanks for taking the time to update us :)

I want to say thanks again for the download lonks that were posted. I was able to download and install and I wait a bit more paitently knowing that I only have to wait for my key and not my key and download both :)

btw, I'm at 24 hours and counting for those interested.

OMFG are you even listening to yourself. Blizz did not FORCE you to sign up with File planet for you to play WoW they said hey there will be an open beta in a week but we are gonna go ahead and offer the Second stress test to our old closed beta testers and to current File planet subscribers a week earlier so that they could get good feedback on new stuff that is in this last patch like hunter and paladin talents to offer an even more quality game for every one in FREE open beta. Blizzard never intended for 80 bazillion ppl to go out and buy FP subscriptions to play a week early just like im sure FP didnt expect either cause they figured you have all been waiting over a year for this damn product already whats one more damn week. Now as to the the comment about PPL not getting "WHAT THEY PAID FOR!!!" you must be the stupidest person on earth. All you paid for is a File planet subscription and YOU DID GET A FILE PLANET SUBSCRIPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This WoW second stress test was just a tiny portion of that stress test and all FP said is that you would get a key, now no where in there add did they ever say sign up now and you will get your authentication key IMEDIATELY and if you didnt expect there to be a delay then you deserve to be one of the last damn ppl on. HAVE SOME F****ING PATIENCE and use some of the other features of file planet while you wait since THAT IS WHAT YOU PAID FOR!!!!!!!

I'm being realistic. Blizzard and fileplanet are not stupid, they are out to make money, I'm just sad that they had to stoop to this level.

Which apparently is bullsh*t. Blizz and FP knew DAMN WELL how popular this was going to be, which is why they did it in the first place. They plain and simple did not have the capacity to handle the load, and some people are STILL WAITING FOR THEIR KEYS!!! Because the FP servers are so overloaded, when the entire purpose FP exists is so you dont have to deal with overloaded servers, whether its for WoW, or anything!

Nobody forced me to do anything, and IM NOT SAYING THEY DID!!! But when I pay for something, I expect to get it! I got a fileplanet subscription sure, but apparently WoW isnt part of that.

Once I start paying, I dont give a sh*t about excuses. I want to see results.

And for the record, I was one of the first people on, and I had to wait 3 hours to get my key. Even that is unacceptable...some people have waited over 16 hours to get their key, and it will take at least 2 hours for them to download, and much much longer if they dont have a super fast connection.

Now get your god damn nose out of blizz and FP's ***, and start seeing the truth. Blizz and FP are WELL AWARE of how rabid their fans are, and if anyone knew what was going to happen, they sure did. WTF is the point of a week early stress test, if it take 3 days to get in the damn game?

if you are at 24 hours and no key i suggest going back to the site and reclicking on the "go here to register for stress test and play" or whatever its called on the main site, but be logged in first. I know i tried this yesterday and all i got was the "sign up for file planet" page again, I also tried the Sweepstakes button this morning but it just timed out on me every time, but i tried the "go here and register for stress test and play" button a while later and it finally sent me straight to the "sign up for WoW ST" page, where it actually took my info and guaranteed me a spot.

I know they said that "its just overloaded and even though you didnt get an email right away, you will still get one", but I think thats changed since then, if its been too long i think you may have to reregister with them to get your ST account.

I just got my key at 8:33pm eastern. I registered at 7ish pm eastern last night.

if you havent yet, try loggin in to FP, at the main page click again on the place where you registered for FP. This time it should send you to a registration for WoW ST
