Is there a way to curb their enthusiasm for battle? Can they be unsummoned/controlled?
I was in a tight spot with a party so I unleashed the compact harvester to turn the tide. Then it continued to attack other mobs far out and drag them into our battle soon afterwards. Eventually we were overwhelmed.
