Fast Mining Skill Ups

I'm not sure if anyone has posted on this subject before but I was wondering if there was a guide of some sort on how and where to mine at different skill levels and do so at a fast pace. Sure your skill will go up eventually when you pass different veins but there has to be a sure-fire fast way to grind up some mining skill ups. Can anyone help? My mining skill right now is 125 so I can just start mining iron.
