Hi,

Was watching a hunter duelling earlier and they were laying multiple freezing traps during combat. I thought that you can only place them out of combat, how is this possible ?

Shame the hunter logged before I got the chance to ask him/her.

Thanks.

There are ways of dropping out of combat, which with speed and luck (in a PvP setting, easy in PvE) can allow you to place another trap.

It's not something you can do too often (once ever 30s or so) and it's a pretty hefty mana drain too.

Well I worked out that they were somehow dropping out of combat, enabling them to drop more traps, but how is this done ?

From what I could see there wasn't a major mana hit when it was done either.

Does anyone know how this is done ?

Thanks.

Feign death and place trap. The important thing is to stop you pet from attacking before you feign death otherwise you will go back into combat before you can place the trap.

This is only really useful against melee classes but can devastate palladins. They stand there whilst your sting saps their mana (unless they cleanse).

I start a duel by laying freezing trap before the duel starts, then hitting them with concussive and sting if i can. Then when they hit trap run away, feign death and lay another trap. Then start firing again when ready and set the pet on them at this point. Thats how i play it but i'm sure there are other and probably better ways.

Thanks for that tip. I was wondering if it was feign death that would do it. I tried that on a normal mob but it didn't work, I assume its different then in duel's ?

Thanks for the info, will give that a whirl :)

Cheers !

if your in pvp and you dont shout, hit, or get hit at for 5 seconds you can place another trap without fegin death
