Since the previous thread has been locked, and the question has yet to be answered, and I would like to know the answer. Heres what was posted:

I had a look at the v1.5 patch changes, and one detail that got my attention was
"Professions
-Two new transporter recipes have been added, with one for gnomish and one for goblin engineers."

Transporter recipes? And two new ones?
Didn`t even know we engineers could build transporters....
Can someone tell me what these recipes are?

Now back to me.
Anyone know what a transporter is?

If a thread was locked, it's not a good idea to bring up the same topic again.

That thread was locked because of the original poster bumping it...

Back to the original question... I'm curious about it as well :) Anyone on the test servers try it out yet?

Apparently,

The Gnome Engineering transporter transfers you to Gadgetzan, The Goblin Recipe to Everlook. (Which is also apparently where the schematic is bought from)

It has been said that they have a 4hour cooldown.

Apparently they have a chance of going wrong in 'amusing' (deadly) ways.

N.B. All the above is as I understand it to be - anyone from test realms can confirm? also what ingredients are required to create?

I could have sworn I have seen horde people using transporters in Booty Bay and Gnomeragnon (any info on those or others would be interesting to me)- but as to the new patch:
as a goblin engineer I talked to guy by the new transporter in Everlook and had option of learning to make the item (no plans - like learning from a trainer). since my server is currently down/messed up I cant tell you exactly what is needed, but the recipe creates a trinket (yes ANOTHER #$%^$% trinket!) using something like:
3 mithril bars, 4 heart of fire, 1 Big One bomb, a truesilver transformer and 1 other item which i forget (sorry - only looked quick once and have not made it yet).
and yes, there is a warning that it might not work so no clue on cooldown or the result of a failure. I have not made one yet but I did learn the plans asap.
for the gadgetzan one - i would assume ingredients along same level (ie mithril/truesilver) and some gnome only produced item.

edit: duh - looked at other posts to answer my question about the BB-gnomeragnon ones (horde only quest)

Yeah, I later saw the description on thottbot (I believe that was where).

Sweet!
Ive recently started a pair of Troll Mages, got them to 22nd.
So I can hearthstone, portal and now transporter myself. I can get all over the place now, hehe. Sure I havent used an engineering device in about a year, but I still love it.

Figure I can portal to Ogrimarr, Undercity and Thunderbluff. Transporter to Gadgetzan (eventually). That means I need to bind in some out of the way place in Eastern Kingdoms. Badlands, Swamp of Sorrows? Ahhh, whereever is convenient at the time.

Woo Hoo! This is gonna be awesome (every 4 hours).

What makes me feel all fuzzy inside is that now as an engineering pally I can shield/hearth 5 times in 4 hours.

Anyway as a goblin engineer I've used it twice and had two "interesting effects":
1st time: I appeared in Everlook and received the "Evil Twin" effect, stating that I have been replaced by my evil twin. Effect lasts for 2 hours (and seems to be considered a buff as logging out does not reduce it's countdown).
2nd time: I appeared in Everlook as a Murloc! I then turned into a kobold (I think) before the malfunction stopped and I became myself again.

Evil twin...LMAO. Did it make you randomly hit passing same-faction members or emote rude things? :happy65:

Only bad effect I've seen so far was I came out on the other end in Wintersping on fire (Immolate effect), the debuff said "SYSTEM MALFUNCTION!" and my health was taken down to about 150HP. Ouch. A buddy on the other side from where I teleported from said there was this huge explosion with fire, and I think I saw it very briefly before the loading screen.

I only wish I could have both. Winterspring is not my most traveled place, but I guess it'll make it easier for me to do my Frostsaber rep quest for a mount.

BTW anybody know where I can find the new fireworks recipe? I use em to celebrate a PvP or boss kill, so variety is always good.

edit: duh - looked at other posts to answer my question about the BB-gnomeragnon ones (horde only quest)

Not quite right.

Here's how it works. In order to use the transporter in Booty Bay to go to Gnomer. you need an item from the goblin who operates the transporter. The goblin will only give you the item, after you complete a delivery quest from a goblin in nogg's machine shop in Orgrimmar. The goblin in org. is neutral, and will give the transporter quest to anyone, Alliance or Horde, only thing is you have to get to nogg's machine shop, in the heart of the valley of honor to get it.

I know a couple of Alliance guys on my server that have done it, and it really wasen't that big of a deal. If you enter from the west (bridge) entrance of org, where there are a limited number of guards, a few swiftness potions/sprints, and corpse hops later and you'll be able to rez in the machine shop, grab the quest and hearth the hell outta there.

whether it's worth it to you or not is a matter of oppinion, it's mostly pretty cool to be able to do what most of your alliance buddies can't, and if you're running gnomer, it is a quicker way to get there. One little added bonus is, since the transporter is instant, (meaning you walk on it, with the calibrator item in your inventory, and you're gone) it can provide a quick means of escape from booty bay in a PvP situation, you know, if you feel no shame in tucking your tail and running.. :)
