I got an idea for an addon, that I really would appreciate!
Some players, like me, spend alot of time visiting vendors all over the world, gathering exotic items and selling them on the AH. Mostly I remember what items give much profit and which I have trouble getting rid of. But I wish I had an addon that would set the lowest and highest price I've ever sold the item type for, and the percentage profit, to the item tooltip. Maybe even the average selling price, and how many times the player has sold the item, but that's not neccasery.
Unless somebody knows of such an addon, would someone pleeaase make one? I would be really happy to have that addon!

Try this one:

Its called Auctioneer.
Basically, you scan the AH and build up a database showing exactly the things you were talking about.

Nah it's not what Im looking for. Auctioneer shows the average values only. And it overruns my addon for automatic pricing, which I dont like.
I want to see the lowest and the highest bid and buyout I've sold the item for, the averages are not that interesting

I would have suggested Auction Matrix, however I'm fairly certain that all auction price tools do an average price.

I already have Auction Matrix, but neither that one does what I want

Ok then, sorry I couldnt help.
I cant imagine anyone making an addon looking for those things youre looking for as the min and max mean nothing. Any fool that decides to set something for sale either rediculously high or low will ruin your data instantly. This is why most of them take the average prices, and suggest that you scan every 24-48 hours.

Ehm and that's why it should record my own prices only, 'cause I dont set the prices any higher or lower than neccesary

There are a few addons that do something with the mail and picking up auction money, there's gotta be something out there that will keep track at least of the payments you previously picked up at the mailbox. I'm not sure how you would match up the unsuccessful auctions to the bids you put in, but something to simply keep track of the auctions you did pick up money for would be helpful, and not quite redundant to Auctioneer. Dig around into the various mail addons, if you find something promising maybe it can be adapted if it's not exactly what you want. (And if you find anything good, let me know, I think it would be handy!)

You're right. One of the addons I use, will automatically take the money and expired items from mails I open. Based on that, it should be possible for a new addon to check the gold taken from successful auctions, and see if it's higher or lower than the previous highest\lowest successful price for the item sold. The name of the item is in the mail topic, so it should be fully possible.

Though I think you don't get the quantity of the item that you received the money for in the subject, do you? Without that you'd have to make a conscious effort to always auction the same size stack or some of your data wouldn't make any sense. Bleh.

It would be possible to note how many times you have sold any amount of the item, but not the amount of units sold total perhaps

Still, it would probably be even more useful information than the kind of stuff that Auctioneer scans, since the items you see in the auction are actually "unsuccessful" items in that they haven't been bought yet. In reality those items will sometimes go for more than the minimum bid shown, even if they don't go for a buyout. It would actually be really helpful information.
I actually think it's kind of odd someone hasn't leaned on Blizzard earlier to put stack size in the auction mails, but considering how we've been getting more useful UI bits lately like targettarget and so on, it might be worth asking for now. (Heck, probably someone DID already ask for it, but their forum search function is a PITA to get anything recent or useful out of)

Totally agree. There's only one single reason why I haven't deleted Auctioneer yet, and that's because it shows how much an item costs at vendor, so that I dont have to calculate it myself:p I dont think the space and memory is worth that though, so I'll probably delete it

I've been thinking about making exactly this addon since I get pretty much all my money from selling limited supply recepies at the moment.
The requests and bugs I have on my current addons is currently taking most of my time now so I don't have the time now. Is anyone working on it?

i'm a little late to the party here, but I am close to releasing an alpha of this type of mod. Also, I think the Auctioneer project is working on something along the same lines.
