Hi, I'd just like a shorter link than

http://wwndata.worldofwar.net/character.php?locale=enUS&server=Argent+Dawn&char=Bury

to be able to stick in my signature to brag about my character.


something like

http://wwndata.worldofwar.net/character.php?134515

would be nice.

you know it would be fantastic free adveritisng for WWN.

The vast majority of places you'd be putting a link to your character offer HTML encoding, for example this forum with the BB encoded URL tags.

Failing that if you need to post using raw text then use something like ******* (http://*******.com/) to shorten your url.

Well, it won't fit on hte WOW official forums :P

No worries. I just thought it would be cool for WWN, it's not even a big deal.

Not that I really care, I use the regular links and it works fine for me, but why isn't it possible to tie an id number to a spesific lookup in your database?

In doing that we'll effectively be maintaining two primary keys, which is inefficient and a pain to maintain. The variables in the link are the primary keys that uniquely identify your character.

If enough people start wanting this functionailty we may consider implementing a sort of ******* database.. but its not something I want to do.
