Ardeth
16-09-2005, 11:21 PM
Ardeth steps out of the abbey into the bright light. It seemed like just yesterday he was still fighting off the undead hordes side by side with Uther the lightbringer and Davil lightfire, but 4 years had passed since that day, when all hope faded and the Order of the Silver hand was disbanded. Ardeth saw many of his friends perish on the battlefield, but nothing hurt more than seeing the remaining paladins fall to darkness and become that which he hated the most: Deathknights. With his Heart broken and sprit shattered he left lordaeron and traveled south, to the lands of Stormwind.

The journey was long, and the road filled with dangers, but together with his trusted horse Whitehoof, he bested them.

After 4 weeks he finally found himself at northshire abbey in Elwynne forest.
Ardeth had not seen such lush forests since before the destruction of his homeland, but he knew he might find peace here.
For the next years he worked as a monk in the abbey, but he became more restless with each day that passed, something stirred in the light, and he knew the day would soon come, when he would pick up his warhammer once again, and wage war on the defilers of Azeroth..

And that day came, 4 years after the scourge took everything away from him, he was called by the marshal of northshire.
"Ardeth.."
"Yes sir?"
"We have recieved rapports of a gang of thieves terrorizing our beloved forest. The stormwind army is called away, and 3 guards are already dead. We do not have the manpower to quell this so-called "Brotherhood" we need an experience fighter, someone who has seen the fires of hell, to undertake this mission"
"But sir, I am a paladin no more!"
"Do you want to see this forest burn like your homeland?! No paladin ever quitsbeing what he is, a defender of the people! You know this, deep in your heart, you know what you must do.
"Yes, you are right sir. I have rested enough."
"Excellent, i knew you would not let us down."

Ardeth felt the his spirit rising to the height it was at 4 years ago.

In a matter of days he had slain every member of the bortherhood in elwynne forest, and recieved much praise from townsfolk and farmers alike. Word soon spread of his endavours, and soon reached the ear of Duthorian Rall, the leader of the Paladins in stormwind, and Ardeth was thus called to the stormwind cathedral.

"Greetings my fellow Paladin!"
"Greetings Sir, you sent for me?"
"Yes. I have been charged to give you new orders"
"Lay them on me Sir, I am compelled to answer the call of the light and atone for my mistakes"
"Your resilience is as much as the marshal said it would be, maybe even more my friend.
"There is a woman that lives on the northern shore of westfall, her home is frequently attacked by the Defias brotherhood, whom you have no doubt dealt with in the past. Her husband is away on a mission of the light in distant Dun morogh, and we need you to repel the attackers"
"When do i leave?"

With that he was given his orders and departed for westfall.
Ardeth found the womans house, and found her working in the small patch of corn she and her husband had. After a brief moment of words, he could hear the unsheathing of daggers and swords as the defias attacked....

When the dust lifted, only Ardeth and the woman was standing.

As soon as he arrived in stormwind the next day, a new task he was given.
This task led him to the unwelcome depths of the deadmines. Then, to the distant peaks of dun morogh, to the dwarven city of ironforge. Never had he seen such beautiy as that of the dwarven lands.
He had been told to seek out the ogres in Loch Modan, near thelsamar, a dwarven village, it was here he met the person who would become a life-long friend of his.

He was given directions to the ogres and off he went. After a short walk he found himself at the ogres base, and was immediatly attacked by 4 war painted ogres carrying large clubs. He sucessfully defeated 2 of them but when he was knocked on his back, he could feel the end was near, the biggest ogre there was about to smash his head in when suddenly it stopped in the middle of its swing, Ardeth looked up and could see a big Axe, with silver trim and the symbol of the Stormwind paladins order on it, He could seethe bearer of the axe, it was a woman, she looked like an angel from his view.

He got up and rammed his hammer into the ogres face, then turned to face the other, only to find that it had run away.

"Thank you brave Paladin, i thought my end was near there. Might i ask your name?"
"My name is Tenar. I couldn't just sit by and watch as some filthy ogre rammed your head in, like you, i am charged with the holy mission to protect and serve the kingdom of stormwind."
"What are you doing this far into dwarven territory?"
"I am here to retrieve a crate of lightforge iron for Duthorian Rall, same as you."
"Well, 4 strong hands are better than 2, the crates are there, over by the tree, was a rather large shipment. Do you also have the orders to lay siege on Shadowfang keep?"
"Yes i do, but i doubt we can do this by ourselves, i have gathered some friends who are waiting at the border to silverpine for me, you can join us if you like"
"It would be a pleasure"

And so the two, accopmanied by several devout heroes, would journey into silverpine, lay siege and destroy shadowfang keep......
