Loads of bug Fixes

Well this release took a while, but there is a reason for that. First of all our last release seemed to contain lots of bugs, which we wanted to fix before releasing a new version. We also took the time to investigate / debug the whole parsing and uploading process. This will result in some overall fixes, and we hope, a lot less bugs.

Client

As you may have noticed, quest information didn't get uploaded to the site anymore. And now it is back :-)
The Client now also uplaods Open Quest Information for each Character you upload.
Fixed a bug where in most cases the Speed of a weapon was uploaded incorrectly resulting in an incorrect DPS display on items.
Character information will be reset when uploading Base Character Information to the server. Previously this was done explicitely by the client. Now it will be done automatically by the server right before some base character information is uploaded.
The Mail thingie that appears when a Parser Error is found should be working now.
The Client should no longer crash when it can't establish a connection to the server. Instead it will simply ask you to login when you want to upload some information.
Due to extensively debugging the whole Parsing / Upload system, you should get Fewer XML / SOAP related errors. If you still receive some, please send in your Data file to wwndata@worldofwar.net
The Client will now show a progress Dialog while uploading, so you can see what it is currently doing and how far it is along the process.

Server

The First Seen By will now correctly display your preferred character or your first character in your Uploaded Character's List.
The Inventory Page has been Fixed Up. You will no longer see one Empty bag, and all Items will be in their correct Bags. ( Result of Debugging / Reworking the parsing and uploading process )
Item Resists will be there more often ( Result of Debugging / Reworking the parsing and uploading process )
On your character's Equipment and Inventory page you should start seeing Enchants and MadeBy things appear. The LUA was logging it but due to a bug in the Parsing it was never uploaded to the server ( Result of Debugging / Reworking the parsing and uploading process )

Please use this post to reply with any Bugs you might encounter with this issue.

Regards,

Annunaki

P.S. : The client will ask you to reset your Data file when it is run for the first time. Please answer Yes to that question, so that the data file will be emptied. This is needed because 1.7.0.3 made some data files corrupt. Once the file is Reset, WoW will generate the file again and you will be able to upload normally again.

Hi,

Can you check in the directory where the Upload Client is located if you find an Error.log file. If there is one, could you see if it contains something and post it's contents here ?

Regards,

Annunaki

Did you not update the server yet? Even though I did both a data reset and a character reset both my inventory and equiment pages have not been updated and still have the empty bag error.
The character and quest pages on the other hand have been updated correctly. Could this maybe be due to a enhanced tooltip mod?

I uninstalled the old version and deleted the Addon from my addon folder + the .lua file and backups from the Saved variables folder.

My talents are completely wrong.

http://wwndata.worldofwar.net/character.php?locale=enUS&server=Turalyon&char=Cailet&activepage=talents

Shows me to be shadow, when I haven't been shadow for /7 days played.

Since Shadow I have been tri-spec and am now cookie cutter disc holy 31/20.

Guys,

Read the other threads and the FAQ, this one has been asked a thousand times by now. You are missing a Registry Key ( AccountName ) somewhere. I will be reworking the client though so that I doesn't need that key anymore.

Annunaki

P.S. : As for the other problems, please send your data files to wwndata@worldofwar.net so I can investigate the Inventory / Talent problem.

Hi,

This is probably going to sound really dumb! Before it was a file put in the add-ons dir. When I upgraded the client it set default install dir to c:\programs\wndata etc I just accepted that.

I have rebooted since install and am logged in, but when I click on upload data totally zero happens! No errors - nothing.

Help please :-)

Hi,

Well the Upload client is installed in that folder, but the installer will also put the Mod into the AddOns folder in WoW/Interface.

What you can do is :

1) In WoW at char selection screen, click the AddOns button
2) Check if the WoWNetExport AddOn is in the list
3) Check if the AddOn is activated

If that is ok, you should check in the Upload Client dir if there is an Error.log file there, and if you can find one, please post the contents of that file here.

It is very likely that this is written somewhere else and I just can't find it, but when you say data files, do you mean the "parser.dmp" or "wownetexport.lua" or both? or something completely different?

Thanks again for a great effort. :)

Firstly - thanks for the cool app and the work you put into it :)

However - I have followed the instructions to the letter - and the text file doesn't work - errors as described elsewhere. So - I put the entry in manually, but I don't think it has anything to do with it - I think the answer is a lot simpler than that - look at the string again (mine provided below for additional reference). The issue is the double backslash in the middle - after the Account section - the app simply can't find the path - It looks like a variable has been used to get the basic WoW path (mine is different to standard on D: drive) and the adds path where the saved variables live, and somehow an extra backslash crept in....

<D:\Games\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\\SavedVariables\wownetexport.lua>

Where is this variable kept, and can we change it?

You must have missed the point of the FAQ. Your problem is exactly the same as many others which is that you are missing an accountname between the slashes. This accountname comes from a key in the regdb. To fix it copy the following into a empty file named "wowexportfix.reg" and modify the last part so it matches your wow account name (and not your wowexport account name). Afterwards you just doubbleclick it and hit yes.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\World of Warcraft\Client]
"AccountName"="YOURWOWACCOUNTNAMEHERE"

Thank you for pointing out my mistake, but i have put the registry key in and it still doesn't upload - which is why I was looking for another explanation..... I will continue looking - thank you again.

Hi,

Have you tried with the latest version ? And please give us more info. What exactly is the problem, what is the error that you receive, did you send in your data files, do you have an error.log file in the Client's install folder, what is in that file ?
