Hi, I didn't download .9, but I just uploaded successfully by removing the last 'square' that some programs use as a carriage return, it was the only 'square' in the entire file, as opposed to every carriage return in the whole file in previous versions.
Thank you for listening.

I installed the update and now it uploads without errors.
The talent tree still doesn't display correctly. One of the talent icons in each talent category does not display, but shows a generic picture icon instead. Next to that is displayed some text such as:
Next rank:
Increases the amount healed by your Holy Light spell by 8%.
')" src="http://wwndata.worldofwar.net/icon/Spell_Holy_HolyBolt.jpg">
This is so for all characters; those newly uploaded since 1.8.0.9 and those uploaded previous to the upload problem. I used both Internet Explorer 6 SP2 and Firefox 1.0.7.
I had been experiencing this same problem for some time, although on Friday (Nov. 4) morning the characters that I had uploaded previous to to the upload problem were displaying the talents OK, the only time it was OK for about a week.

Hello Mariachi,
I had the same bug but I deleted the wownetexport.lua which stores the informations (better backup it before deleting). After deletion it worked just fine for me! :)

I've got two different lua-files which get the exact same error both places. Unless there is a difference in the way data gets stored since 1.8.0.8 then I can only say that I've already tried that. But if there is a difference, then I must admit that most of the data in the lua-file comes from 1.8.0.8.

Weird... I just can say that I had the exactly same problem as you. After deletion of the lua it was fixed. Can't say more about it. :/

Mine times out every time.
I have a 2Mb ADSL line and stop every other application running so there is no network traffic, and it still times out - been this way since 1.8.0.3
After it has timed out, there is nothing to upload without logging in again - very annoying, I am sure you will agree....

Have now Downloaded and used the .9 version and still have the <notice> bug, I remove the 'square' from the last row in the wownetexport.lua file and can upload with the file special-thingie, not with 'upload now'
kthxbye!

Still having trouble with the Talent Tree display, as mentioned in my earlier post in this thread. In addition to the previously described defect, hovering the cursor over a talent icon does not cause a tooltip to be displayed.

This version should fix the problems users reported with Upload Errors and character data missing.
Upload has erred since .09 with : 1006 BDY Parser-error.
I'm getting a socket error when trying to error-report.

Me too, and as a resluth I am not completing upload
My inventory is stuck at an upload from several days (maybe a week) ago, my cash is completely wrong.
I have stuff in my bags not yet seen on WWN, and only 2 of the items are uploaded - despite my bag contents not changing on site.
Also my talents are still screwed up. What happened to the web guy who you asked to fix this two weeks ago?
Update please.

This is fixed. However, the problem is related to data gathered from version 1.8.0.6/7 or 8 and thus data gather with older versions i currupt and cannot be uploaded. You'll have to consider this data as lost. :sad53:
Start over on a new file and you'll have no problem uploading.

Do you suggest I uninstall the exporter, delete the addon and the files in the Saved variables folder, delete my Characters from the site and restart ?
If so, what happens to my first seen by?
I already lost over 50 of my first seen the last time it went pear shaped - Will I lose another 40+ this time ?

Nono ... it's just the data gathered, i.e. the lua-file in the saved variables directory which are lost.
Anyho, the problem STILL exists it seems. It just doesn't happen every time. A couple of hours playing is enough to produce the error.

I was able to successfully upload a file last night, but it was an older one. The one I had last night generated the 1006 BDY Parser Error.
Then today, after starting a new file last night with the new version, I got the error:
Only one top level element is allowed in an XML document.
Line: 2
<b>Notice</b>: Undefined Variable: ret
I'm not sure why I could upload last night and not today. Many of the items that I uploaded showed up as white rather than green/blue/purple though.
On a good note, the talent tree display on my character page is working fine now. :)
edit: Another thing is that ZG enchants aren't showing up correctly in the tooltips. The enchant is listed as
"Mana Regen +4/Stamina +10/Healing Spells +24"
As of now, the tooltip just has 'Mana' where the entire string should be.

WNN Data Uploader 1.8.0.9 suddenly don't find my character info anymore.. The only way I can upload is by doing a manual Special upload and then it will bomb on "Line: 2 <b>Notice</b>: Undefined variable: ret.
Error for the normal was "The client was unable to find any data files".
Funny thing since I haven't changed any add-on's other than WNN Data during the last few weeks.

Well, it's not only a couple of hours. I uploaded last night (The Skull of Chronalis
and The Skull of Somnus) restarted game, continued with quest series got The Skull of Axtroz, exited game and uploaded.
Got the same error
Only one top level element is allowed in an XML document.
Line: 2
<b>Notice</b>: Undefined Variable: ret
after only 30 minutes of game play.
Going to uninstall the exporter, delete the addon and SV files and reinstall later.
Tonight is MC which = 5 hours playing, so we'll see how I get on.

This is what I am currently getting. I am trying to setup my upload for the first time. An error sheet did come up and I filled in the form and clicked ok. I assume WWN have received this error in the form of an e-mail. Just thought i'd shout on the forums as that is advised too eh........ :howdy:

"Line: 2 <b>Notice</b>: Undefined variable: ret."
Remove the last character from the wownetexport.lua file(backup first) and then try a special upload, it works for me.
it might be a square, it might be just a carriage return(new line), just place your pointer at the very bottom, at the end of the last line and press backspace.

Still can't export with 1.8.0.9.
All tries end up in a : 1006 BDY Parser-error - EOF expected.
When I try to report the file I always get a #10060 socket error.
I'd go back to 1.8.0.8, but I nuked the installer....

same old <b>notice</b> error for me ..
sometimes it works by removing that last carrige return from the lua file and other times it hasn't ..
seems the bigger the file the more likely it fails for me..

This does not work. You must have hit a data set which isn't currupt somehow. This may be due to ambigious XML or something, which is interpreted wrongly in 1.8.0.8/9.

Hi,
Yeah a bug slipped into the Parsing code, so I think almost everyone will get a Parser error now. I'm doing my best to track it down and fix it. I hope to have a new version available in the next hours.

Guys,
1.8.0.10 is out with quite a few Parser / Upload fixes. Please try with that version, if you still have problems post them in the 1.8.10 tread.
