I play on Garona (PvE server)...but for quite some time I have been playing flagged (perpetually). I have a group of friends on the Horde side who do the following:
We typically hit as many alliance outposts as we can. We attack guards until some idiotic lowbie feels he has a chance to defeat us. We then quickly dispatch of them...after this (depending on location) we take out the flight master so no one can leave.
Shortly after this a group of 60's will show up...we then kill them...until it gets too hot. When it gets to hot, we pack up and move on. The result?
We have noticed a surge in the PvP activity on our server. It is noticeably higher. Our only question is:
What took everyone so long? :D
Does anyone else do this? Places we hit include:
-Feathermoon Stronghold
-Auberdine
-Astranar
-Chillwind Camp
-Darnassus
-Lakeshire
-Darkshire
-Northshire
-Netherguard Keep
-Menethil Harbor
-Stonetalon Peak
-Refuge Point

Me and a friend used to do this too, but it's a bit harder for 2 lvl 45 players to make a difference ;)

Haha, awesome! Picking unfair fights and cowering from a fair fight :happy65:
Here's an idea...try a PvP server...no no wait that would be too difficult, people would be able to attack you when you don't want them to.

I am sorry, perhaps the concept is too difficult for you to grasp:
-if you are flagged you cannot attack anyone unless they are flagged also
-if you are flagged you can be attacked by EVERYONE, at ANY TIME and there are NO safe spots...even if you are in your OWN territory
This in essence means:
-you get hit FIRST in every battle
-you have no friendly territory to run back into
-you are a target EVERYWHERE
I also feel as if you missed the point of my post. We do not "pick unfair fights". We draw the attention of high level characters by attacking guards. People at low levels who attack a high level character whether it be on a PvP server or a PvE server will more than likely be destroyed.
I am sorry if I do not appreciate your snide /golfclap. I am sorry you do not understand what we were truly doing. I am sorry you chose to criticize my post rather than ANSWERING the question and staying on topic.
Thank you...and good luck with high school.

Gee, well it seems to me that killing the flight master so those lowbies can't get around to do their quests seems like picking an unfair fight. I'd call it griefing but that is just my opinion. And then you mentioned that when it gets 'too hot' you move on to another location, and to me that sounds like cowardice. :howdy:
And yes I get that really difficult concept of being flagged all the time, but noone is going to attack you in a lowbie zone when you are ?? to them. Also, I think you will be pretty safe when you hearth back to Ogrimmar whether you are flagged or not. That was not the point. The point is this:
You just started playing flagged all the time because you are now 60 or close to it but I'd be willing to bet that you weren't doing that when YOU were a lowbie just trying to get your quests done. So what I meant was why don't you try starting an alt on a PvP server and see what it's like to deal with that part of the game from the other side of the fence before bragging about how you give other people a hard time on PvE servers when they didn't sign up for that.
And before you start calling me a carebear...I play on a PvP server and don't complain about that type of behavior because I did sign up for it and I like the challenge. Plus, voicing my opinion about your topic I believe is on topic last time I checked.
What you do is fine at the higher level areas if you are into that sort of thing...but attacking the low level areas to get high level attention? Not so much. And if you want to PvP then why don't you got to a PvP server anyway? Or at least battlegrounds...

Myself I like the idea! Kill the flight master. Cause as much hell and destruction as you can in town by wiping it out in a well planned raid and then get the hell out of there when the cavalry arrive. If the romans did it why can't we?
It's dirty, it's low and it's mean and it deserves a huge round of applause! It's given me ideas for what to do when I grow up and get big and strong. (LvL 25 Warlock)
If horde aren't allowed to beat upp alliance and vice versa than what has the world of warcraft come to?

The flight master is an elite. Killing him with three people is a bit challenging. The only thing it accomplishes is creating a condition in which the lowbies cannot leave.
Perhaps it is an unfair fight. But if they (lowbies) feel it necessary to attack someone who is ?? they deserve to die. After getting "X is under attack" spammed in world defense, alliance from my server eventually show up (yes, they do know it is me doing it...and yes, they bring their friends for some PvP action).
Too hot simply means they bring in twenty-five alliance to fight off the five to ten of us. If you'd like to talk about unfair fights...then perhaps you should look at the response we generate. It is not cowardice to run off from twenty-five alliance if your numbers are significantly lower.
And yes I get that really difficult concept of being flagged all the time, but noone is going to attack you in a lowbie zone when you are ?? to them. Also, I think you will be pretty safe when you hearth back to Ogrimmar whether you are flagged or not. That was not the point. The point is this:

1. I am level 60 and have been for about 6 months. When I was level 50, I started getting bored and began to play while flagged. I didn't play flagged as a lowbie because I wanted to progress through the game.
2. A hearth-stone has a fairly long cool-down...and it is not always useable.
3. I have played on a PvP server...and I moved back to my PvE server because I did not know anyone on Kellecgos.
4. I do not see the problem in attacking alliance towns and getting a response from level 60 characters. I am not there to kill lowbies...I am there to get a response from honorable targets.
5. Believe it or not, there are level 60 characters in some of these areas. Believe it or not some of the areas we hit are not even lowbie areas.
6. Believe it or not, people DO attack you if they see a flagged HORDE character. Believe it or not this generally means getting jumped by FIVE alliance.
And before you start calling me a carebear...I play on a PvP server and don't complain about that type of behavior because I did sign up for it and I like the challenge. Plus, voicing my opinion about your topic I believe is on topic last time I checked.
I never called you a carebear. The only issue I have is the tone used...perhaps it was misinterpreted. I think perhaps you misunderstood my post...and you misunderstood mine as well. Oh well.
What you do is fine at the higher level areas if you are into that sort of thing...but attacking the low level areas to get high level attention? Not so much. And if you want to PvP then why don't you got to a PvP server anyway? Or at least battlegrounds...
As I said...we hit in a lot of places and do not make it specific to LOW areas. The only reason we select Darkshire, Northshire and Goldshire is because it is VERY close to Stormwind...and we will have 60's on us in NO time.
I have played on a PvP server, but all of my friends and guild mates are on a PvE server. I would gladly transfer to a PvP server if/when realm transfers open...and I am hoping many of my guild-mates will do the same.
Battlegrounds? Battlegrounds flat out suck...wait in line to play with incompetent people in an effort to accomplish an objective that nobody on your team really cares about? No thanks...I will keep doing what I am doing. It gets many of the infamous people on my server to respond...which is what I am after. I am not out to squash lowbies...they simply are collateral damage.
BTW, thanks for your opinion...and I apologize for coming off as harsh and abrasive.

if you really want those great epic battles outside BGs then you should presuade your guild to change realm darn fast as you will be likely to find much more pvp on a pvp realm (duh) :uhhuh:
and i totally agree with your opinion on BGs.. they have ruined abit of my game really, as noone raids anymore.. sucks really..
but come to burning blade and start attacking places and you will soon have half the alliance after you!

We get the same response on Garona...and all I was trying to point out is if you do this sort of thing enough you will start to notice the PvE environment change to a cutt-throat PvP environment where everyone plays flagged...all the time.
The other night I was killed on a Zeppelin by an alliance rogue. Sneaky stuff...and it made it fun. It also makes getting to MC, LBRS, UBRS, and BRD a bit challenging if everyone is flagged.
I wasn't trying to gloat about killing level 10 characters...I was only commenting on how easy it is to change the dynamic of a PvE server. Think about it:
-large guilds are already epic'd out
-PvP in BG grows stale very quickly
-world PvP is exciting...much more challenging...
-at level 60 (without an expansion set) there is very little left to do

said nothing about any lvl 10 chars, and i was agreeing with you about BGs and outdoor epic battles as it was because of those i joined a pvp realm in the first time.
but as i was atleast trying to point out, was that.. no il rephrase it as a question : Do you witness or experience alot of 120ppl raids and suchs?
Have you, with those attacks, ever started an all out war with hundreds of players killing each other?
Have you sacked any of the major citys and killed the factionleader?
cus that will and do happen on pvp realms.. last time was 3 days ago if i remember right.. around 100 horde attacked IF trying to kill the dwarf king, but in mere minutes the alliance from all over the world came and in a 2 hour battle they finaly drove the horde away.. dunno if the followd as i heard this yesterday froma friend.. cant play now as "my" comp is on repair (doh)
so that was what i was supposed to say, nothing about that it wont happen on a PvE but those it happen in any large scale with around the hundreds of ppl?

Thanks for responding Shanda...to answer: no, no and no.
The largest battles I have seen are 40 versus 40. Everyone is so into raiding and BG it's ridiculous. However, I have started a movement in my guild toward world PvP...and began scouting out faction leaders. This is a side-effect of the fun we have.
One of the faction leaders we are scouting at the moment is Jaina Proudmoore. Getting into Theramore Isle is VERY easy. There are a few dead spots where guards do NOT spawn. Getting into her tower and pulling her isn't too tough either...but she has a ridiculous amount of mana...she is also an arch-mage (which is very scary).
We are trying to find a good spot to draw her out to...and thinking of what would happen should we attack. Realistically the response we have gotten regarding Theramore being under attack is realatively minor...and it appears that guards would be the only irritant. Maybe the alliance has forgotten that they have a leader there...maybe they have also forgotten that she is very easy to get to...
How many do you think it would take on Jaina?

sounds good idea! i like it when all of a sudden questing towns come attack in good organised defence peopel head back to town ride to IF an summon help.
ive been fighting a hard battle against loads of horde - i was lvl 35 up against lvl lvl 30-50 odd. wasnt many alliance with me to stop them mainly guards but then reinforcemnets came in. we had a good damn fight killed em all they retreated and we attacked splintertree in return ;)
good to break up the questing now an again. think ill sign up to pvp server but i think id find it annoying getting attacked at every turn mind lol will see though :)
attacking the flight masters is damn tactics i find. hard fight and stops reinforcements :)

I'm new to Wow and play on a PVE server.
In the short time I've played, I've come to HATE BGs. No stradegy, everyone out for the kill rather than the win.
What I do find exciting, are the unprovoked attacks from the HORDE. My first experience was in Duskwood. Although killed numerous times, it was a blast. (These were my first 3 honor kills as a mid 20s mage. )
I learned more about my Class that night, than at any other time. I just wish it'd happened more.
