Client Changes

Some users only had partial Item Information logged by out LUA mod, I have no idea what is causing that yet, but I expect it to be a conflict between two different AddOns. This would of course lead to Parser Errors, since the parser wants the full Item Information to be in the Data File before it sends in the Item data to our server. I have not been able to track what is causing it, but I modified the Parser and Client so that it won't generate any parser errors anymore if you don't have complete Item information for a specific Item in your Data File. The client just won't upload the info for that specific item ( if incomplete item info is found ), but will no longer generate a Parser error.
Some modifications were done to the LUA mod concerning the Quest Rewards. Currently all Quest Rewards were being logged as optional Quest Rewards. Some quests have rewards which you will receive by default ( where you have no option to choose ). The LUA mod will now process those correctly and send the information correctly to our server.
After an upload ( Succesfull or not ) the Client will now make a Backup of your DataFile and delete the original file. This way no old data will be left in you Data Files the next time you want to upload.

Server Changes

Some user reported an error with a Top Level node message. I have debugged the Server code a bit more and was able to track down and solve another issue. If you still get some of those errors, please report them in the Forum.

1.8.0.10 Confirmed Bugs

It seems that there is a bug in 1.8.0.10 which causes all items to have their name displayed in White on the WebSite. We have tracked down this issue and it will be solved in the next release.

Well if now everyone would post a message like that, then we would know that the thing is working :-)

I just realized that there's at least one quest in my log that hasn't been getting uploaded for several versions of the client, possibly never (it's been in my quest log for a VERY long time).

The quest is in the Blasted Lands, entitled 'Uniting the Shattered Amulet', level 60 Elite. Any more info you need about this?

Hi,

Still trying to install this for the first time. When I select upload, I get 'the client was unable to find any data files. Please run WoW and log in with one of your characters'. I have obviously done this and no joy.

When I click upload special I get the option of 3 files

wownetexport.lua
wne_localization.lua
CharacterProfiler.lua

I read that the file required is SavedVariables.lua

I don't seem to have this file in the Add On's folder??

I can upload... have been able since 1.8.0.9.

Even better news: the talent tree display problem I have been having intermittently since a couple of updates ago seems to have been fixed with 1.8.0.10; at least every character I have uploaded since it was installed has looked good.

it's wownetexport.lua you need to upload.

Guys,

If you use Upload File Special, you should pick the RIGHT file. The file you should upload is found in the folowing folder :

<WoW Install Dir>/WTF/Account/<Your Account Name>/SavedVariables/

In that folder you should pick the wownetexport.lua file.

Ooups, didn't see what folder he was in.. thought he had strange files in his SavedVariables folder..

I still can't Upload Now, and I have checked the Registry, I don't get a debug-file when I start the client with -DEBUG if I choose upload Now, only when I do a File Special, and then everything is OK in the debugfile.

I don't know what to do..

is there a way to make a shortcut?

like instead of auto-starting the client, you can press a shortcut where you have specified your wwndu user/pass and the location of the file?

that'd be nice.

Guys,

If you use Upload File Special, you should pick the RIGHT file. The file you should upload is found in the folowing folder :

<WoW Install Dir>/WTF/Account/<Your Account Name>/SavedVariables/

In that folder you should pick the wownetexport.lua file.

Thanks, this worked. I now have to select upload special everytime I want to update the database, why is this?

Also, I get a message after a successful upload telling me to copy the backup file back to the WoW installation dir as it has been purged?? I don't really understand what this means. Would this only be if upload file had detected wownetexport.lua automatically? Is this just a precautious task?

Could some of these queries please be added to the technical help area? Sorry if it's just me being a muppet........

Hi,

I reinstalled my computer yesterday and now I cannot upload anymore. I get "The client was unable to find data files". I've checked my registry keys and both the current machine keys were there (are there some others, saw something about a current_user key?).
I did a backup of my addons, including the wwn lua file and a simple reinstall of the wwn upload program.
When I try to set my lua file myself using the upload special, I get a parser error : 1600 : No grammar has been set. (yes, using the wwn lua file in the saved var directory)

Can you help me?

Regards,

Legolasi

Hi,

There will be a new version of the Client today. When it is online, could you try it with that version ? The new version should allow you to configure the location of your WoW.EXE files using the Client, which should solve the last batch of problems with the client not picking up the correct Data file.
