Making Legendary items available through fishing in Battlegrounds was a big mistake. On my server half the people are fishing which leads to many defeats.

That was fished in Alterac Valley. The person advertised it and now everyone is fishing in AV and AB.
Although probably insanely rare it's gotten people's hopes up on obtaining one of these rare oranges. That sword right there would change me into a non-dagger rogue in a split second.

LOL
Do you have any idea what it takes to actually get that sword?
You DO NOT get it from fishing and I want to shake the hand of the person that has got everyone believing it :happy65:
Do a search on Fluffy eats gold farming sites for dinner and then come back here and have a laugh with me :happy53:
And by the way my Guild on Perenolde got the first Broodlord Kill for the Horde side last night and we now have 4 of the 10 Elementium ore needed to make that Sword for our mian Tank.

The link you posted is a no no. See rule 5 (http://forums.worldofwar.net/rules/). They're an affiliate of a gold selling company. If it's not at WWNData, then links to Allakhazam are allowed. Don't believe me?? See this thread (http://forums.worldofwar.net/showthread.php?t=356370)

This is News to me, and I would Love to see the Proof.
There are no links to buying Gold on their Site... its just a huge database with WoW info.
i suggest you stop linking to thott, in any form. -LS
You must be a real joker nvrbs. The moment you enter any sub-page (like for skills, quests, whatever) the whole right side of your browser is flooded with gold selling adverts.
These forums need not give you proof. They are provided free for you and you (we) stick to the rules. If they say don't link, then don't link. Period. If you don't like it...take the consequences.

If you're talking about your discussion with me, then you're way off base. I don't know anything about WoW, and everyone knows that...
At any rate, there was a fun post about this a while ago - it even made news on this site. The site you're talking about was listed in the holdings of a very large secondary market company.
As for the sword - it's cool. Even if it were fishable (which I'm very much doubting) I wouldn't imagine it'd be worth trying to fish it. Reward per unit effort's a bit low there.

See that chap with the green title (http://forums.worldofwar.net/showthread.php?t=351426&page=2&pp=10&highlight=Thottbot). That's a mod. He's the same chap I linked to in the other thread. If a Mod says no, then it's no, because it's a rule handed down by the Admins, namely Elly, Rushter and OMO.
Don't be too surprised, if your account gets banned, if you continue posting the links to you know where.
Oh and here's another mod (http://forums.worldofwar.net/showthread.php?t=351570&highlight=Thottbot) saying no.. And here are two more Mods and an admin (http://forums.worldofwar.net/showthread.php?t=349738&highlight=Thottbot).

Then the people on your server are fools and believe anything they're told. That sword is ONLY a quest item, based upon an item drop from Ragnaros in MC. Thus there is no chance of fishing getting a drop like that, anywhere. Therefore, don't believe everything you hear. You cannot get it by 'fishing'.
For instance. I have the Crown of Judgement, Tier 3 epic set armour peice. If I told you it drops from Hogger, a level 11 elite in Ellwyn Forest, do you believe me? You have just as much reason as to believe the previous guy's story about how that drops in AV fishing. .....Waitaminute forget my example, if your server reads this you'll start seeing raid groups in Ironforge being put together to farm him over a series of hours, miles of people desperate to tag him.

Ahh...Close, but still wrong. Thunderfury is from getting two both legendary pieces from Garr and Geddon and doing the quest chain. Ragaros drops Sulfuron Hammer which can be turned into Sulfuras, Hand of Raggy.

No quite. Rag drops the Eye of Ragnaros, a legendary item. The Sulfuron Hammer is a blacksmith crafted taught by the Thorium Brotherhood which requires (among other things) Sulfuron Ingots. Combining the Hammer with the Eye will change the Hammer to Sulfuras, Hand of the Raggamuffin.
Just to clear things up :).

Usually i can restrain from flaming things. But when you make a general insult, that is COMPLETLY out of context, i officially flag you as Jackass. Consider the fact that you are a dickhead.
As i said that was actually completly out of context and if society has detirioated to such an extent that you feel the need to post such a thread. Insulting a, i think, wonderful site, than we should be saddened.
P.S I didnt realise you could pick up anything other than fish, fishing, cool i am gonna skill it up. What areas have good drops. By that i mean, i doubt Goldshire would have an awesome item be fished. So, for a lvl 24 where should i fish?

Well those items are completely random. The drop (or shall we say fish out?) varies according to the zone level however your fishing skill DOES NOT increase a chance of fishing this or that.
Example: You can fish in Auberdine with level 5 skill and fish an Oily Bklackmouth and come back later with 200 in fishing and fish the same one with a chance of increasing skill in fishing. Whether you have 4 or 300 in fishing, while fishing in Auberdine for example, you have the same chance of fishing out a rare item, gem or anything else.
So, the fishing zones differ according to what fish are fishable in given area, and fish only.
Conclusion: the higher zone the higher item level, yet the same chance to catch it as in lower zones.

You have mentioned somewhere my guild”, so I assume you are a guild leader. After reading above statement I wouldn’t bore my dog in your guild. Not that I have one and I am attached to in particular. It does not surprise me that you may have members in your guild, anyone can be fooled, but it is amazing that they stayed. Oh well, we need all kind of people on this planet, don’t we?

LMFAO at this thread.
First, who in their right mind and over the age of 7 would believe you could fish for a legendary item? I better reroll to that server, I could make a fortune on those poor fools.
Second, why does anyone keep responding to that nvrsbr ubernoob? It's very obvious he is just posting random insults in here to egg all of you on. Ban him or ignore him, but don't engage him.
Now, back to fishing. One time in Loch Modan, I got an off-hand walking stick that gave +1 stam from fishing in the loch. I thought I was the coolest little dwarf on the server. I was so impressed with myself that I equipped that off-hand and an axe on my hunter, just so people would ask me where I got it.
Then I fished day in and day out in the highest zones I could get to and live, hoping to get more items. I even convinced a guildie to guard me one day. Got my fishing almost to 225 that way. And I got nothing but fish.
Not much point to that story, just thought I'd share, even though I'm not lucky enough to fish legendaries. Maybe my fishing pole isn't good enough...

If you really think this warrants a banning please dont, i geuss, because i actually dont think that flaming someone who really, truly deserves it, doesnt warrant a banning. But i really think that nvrsbr needs to hire the worlds greatest surgeon, because if i met him, i would shove his keyboard so far up his ass that the aformentioned surgeon would need hours to find it.
P.S: Sorry Maxxim but really, i dont care if he just wants a reaction.

To reiterate. You are a jackass. Do you know what noob means? Despite the fact that noob is a stupid thing, you managed to make EVEN more of an embarrasment out of your self didnt you? Noob means newbie incase your two brain cells arent sparking on that factor. And when you use it as such a dumbass payout you deserve a royal beating. Its just plain idiocy to use an insult that is meant to refer to someone who is NEW and makes mistakes because of this, as a insult refering to something completly different. I dont care if that was just a joke, I can think of a thousand things that are funnier than that, one of them is drowning puppies.

Well, yea, but Merlin, his enchanter buddy, had to grind on the French for 18 hours straight before he got enough rep to buy the +fishing enchant needed to fish out excalibur.
So really, it isn't worth the investment.
The only thing ive gotten out of fishing are crates/boxes fill with a bolt of silk and 2 medium leathers, blech. Blizz give us more items!

Well actually the Lady of the Lake (a watery tart) cast Excalibur to Merlin when he went to get it for King Arthur's father, Uther Pendragon (if you followed the movie), Sir Mallory states King Arthur got it when he broke his first sword (which according to mallory was the one he pulled from the stone but wasn't Excalibur) from said watery tart, and another version simply states that Arthur Pulled it from the stone (the French tale). It was also believed to be a great weapon from a Irish King which was called something not close to Excalibur (well Gaelic in might have meant the same but not spelled the same), So no fishing involved, it was an elite quest.
From what I understand Merlin had to get exalted with the Thorium Brotherhood to get the recipe then get 50 Naga hides and 6 enchanted leathers to the combine it with the Excalibur, take to Onyxia, stab 5 seperate times, then take it to Iron Forge and make it into the sword of Power.

You used to be able to fish good stuff, AND the fish you caught were really worth something. The problem was that lots of people decided to fish more than do other stuff and it started to skew the market.
They chose to nerf fishing by making the stuff you catch worth lots less, as opposed to making fishing irritatingly difficult.
The current system is easier, that's for sure. It'd be kinda fun if there were some skill involved, but that would take lots more balancing - something we all know Blizz loves to do ;)

Don't make the same mistake he did, by committing the same offense twice in a row.
No, no, no, you've got it wrong. Merlin was obviously grinding Hydraxxian Waterlords faction, and as a Hero, he could get to the level past Exalted, that being OMGWTFBBQ. At OMGWTFBBQ, he talked to Hydraxxia for a while, gave her an Arcanite Champion, one Elementium Bar, ten Naga Hides, four each of Essence of Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Life, as well as a few pieces of enchanted leather for some unknown purpose.
Unfortunately, as he was headed to Stormwind to give Wrynn his new sword, his gryphon was shot down over the Burning Steppes by a couple of Black Drakes who figured out how to look up. We know no more of him.

I was lucky enough to fish 2 of those rings out of the pond in Thunderbluff right after WoW went Live. And I recently caught a 16 Slot Backpack out of the water in Zul'Gurub.
