I can't access wwndata.worldofwar.net, either. Also, the client is unable to upload; can't find the server. I guess something broke pretty bad, but I sure wish if that was so, someone would let us know.

Hi,

It looks like the WWNData server is down. Sadly Rushter is sick in bed at the moment, and he is the only one with root access to the server ( I think ), so none of us can kick it or reboot it.

Please be patient, I have PM ed Rushter about this, and I hope he will read it soon.

Regards,

many thanks for the update.

I didn't know the whole database was run by 1 person. It really is a great help for me as I can then see which quests I'm on whilst I'm at work on my lunch hour I can then plan my evenings play.

I don't get that much time online so it helps to be able to maximise my XP in a short space of time.

I only started using the database 2 days ago and it only worked for a day :ash:

If it starts working again then i'll donate something as it enhances my game

10 to 1 says it *will* indeed start working again.

The database isn't run by just one person either, it's just that Rushster (the admin of this site) is the only one with root access to the server, so he's the only one who can perform a restart and other in-depth system thingies.

It is not unusual to limit this kind of access to one or at least very few persons to avoid serious security issues.

bwirum is right,

The whole thing isn't run by 1 single person, there is a whole team behind it. But Rushter is the Admin of the whole Server Network which includes a few different servers. He is the only one who has Root Access to those servers ( which means he is the only one who can force a Server Shutdown or Reboot ).

That is how things work in companies. Would be a bad idea if every employee would have access to the Server Admin stuff and would be able to reset all the servers.
