damn it Arinnaya, your post just got there before mine! so i dint know that you had left the Tavern before i went back to speak to the party. NVM, i dont make any refrences to you actually being there. Spose' you couls have walked out during the period where i was meditating and not actually noticed you gone.

Tallian - This could be where you tell me that we need as much help with Tarren Mill as possible, seeing as Arinnaya dosnt want us splitting up and all.

Shanda
16-02-2006, 07:46 PM
Actually Tallian dont know **** about any plans.. the last thing he heard was Arinnaya talking about going to SS so he followed.. then he got captured and stuff so basicly Tallian dont know anything about anything..

and Fithel il delete your post in the RP thread np.

Nork
17-02-2006, 03:31 PM
But she continued: " ..Therefore I found it wise, along with others" - and she looked at Enalia - " to pay a visit to the undead encampment at the cursed town of Tarren Mill... it might be a though fight, but I am determined to do anything to make the Criminals of Undeath pay!!"

So you dont remember Arinnaya saying that to you then?

Shanda
17-02-2006, 07:12 PM
Ya but Tallian didnt understand anything of it :/
As i said he dosent know anything about the plans so if you start talking about going to northrend he will just look at you as if you were stupid.. but il post later today I think.. have some things I must tend to first.

Just wanted to say that I have reconsidered joining here. There are a couple of reasons, but mainly its to focus on 2 other RP projects I have in mind. Sorry about the confusion. And thanks for understanding.

Nork
18-02-2006, 11:00 AM
fair enough Tallian. It was actually meant to be for Arinnaya more than anything, but she and I were writting our posts at the same time and hers got in before mine. Just to add to the confusion and every thing.

Arinnaya

an important notice to all party members:

How I imagined the world of Azeroth is not like he game, much more like the Warcraft RP books. Therefore the Forsaken are not kill-on-sight faction. It is more like the things in the book 'Lands of Conflict', where the narrator (actually the dwarven explorer Brann Bronzebeard) says: "By declaring that I am an enemy of the magocrats of Dalaran, I was permitted entry to the Undercity, formed from the royal crypts of the ruined city of Lordaeron" This actually means, that the Forsaken can be negotiated with, and they attack only if provocated to do so... (however, our adventurers might not know the difference between them and the scourge, and might think they are all equally mindless)...

So, while we prepare for fight, we will not have to, since they will be as surprised to hear about a new plague, as our adventurers were... And actually, they might even hep with information...

Oh, and Arcantis, we will meet him on the road, while he is in dire trouble...

Nork
20-02-2006, 12:23 PM
Okay then. But from what i have read, there is a continual battle between Sounth Shore and Tarren Mill, that has been on going since the Forsaken took up residance at the Mill and changed its name. Its gonna take some convincing, to have them think we are not spy's and nothing to do with the conflict between them and South Shore, all they will see is Alliance members coming from SS.

Also, I would like to say, Nork will stay rather anti-walking Dead. As none of his past experiances has had him come accross any Forsaken.

Shanda
22-02-2006, 02:57 PM
Vlaak I will tell you as I have now said so many times.. post you character in THIS thread. and a full char to plz.. read the instructions in the beginning of this thread and then make a proper one. then we´l see.

EDIT: and I will also btw remove the post you wrote in the RP thread, as it dont have anything there to do.

Arinnaya
26-02-2006, 06:59 PM
I will soon add a post to bridge the time gap between late afternoon, and the next morning, telling briefly how our heroes have spent the night, without any major incident.

You can do this as well thus making it possible, to start out again, as soon as possible.... It is boring being in a town constantly...

Alternatively, has anyone a good idea for adding side-quests?? Those, that enable us earning some money - remember, we have spent already much.

Arinnaya
28-02-2006, 09:56 PM
Allow me just a short, brief comment:

I am happy to see all the company together (well, almost), and I would suggest not to break up in the future. The RP system is not for the lone adventurers, even if it is actually possible in the games. I would still suggest tagging along in a group, even if you won't act, just be dragged along as an NPC. Things will become considerably more interesting once we have left Southshore... And I can assure you, the Forsaken will be about as surprised as our adventurers were, when they found evidence for 'plagueing murderers'. They will even give suggestions to the adventurers, and will not attack them on sight (unlike the game) They will behave 'unfriendly', but certainly not as a mindless bot.

Shanda
28-02-2006, 10:47 PM
Im afraid Tallian will break with the party.. atleast until you are done in TM... Its one thing you must know about Tallian, he hates undead and that includes forsaken with a passion that is impossible to explain.. and if he went with you.. no that wouldnt work.

And one more thing.. the Forsaken is evil they arent some missunderstood race as many might think. And they will not see us just as unfriendly, nor will they let "us" hang around in their town as simple travellers.. No Ari that wont work.. it just wont work, I think you should go there, find out that they are very unfriendly and then get the hell out of there. Tallian will suggest that he goes to Dalaran and speak with the mages there as he has some kind of status and rank among them. and besides he dont want you guys to know that he has so its all for the best.
and on the way I can save the naga and find Arcantis. We will save some time to I guess.

And for Tallians part that will happen, but then you must discuss the TM adventure with the rest as I dont think the Forsaken will act civil in any way towards others..

To Arinnaya: Sorry if it screws up any plans you had with changing between evening and morning, because I allready did that. Really, I should teach myself to FIRST check up on anything written here before moving on to the RP tread.

Nork
01-03-2006, 04:37 PM
Oh, thats just great, thats just absolutely great. We can tell who the favored are here cant we!

When i come up with the idea to save the Naga, you tell me to do one, but as soon as tallian wants to save the Naga, your like, Yhe! what a great idea!!! Just coz he's a powerful mage and i am a Warlock, im powerful too, i can summon an Infernal! i am lvl 51. Though to be hounest, i have run out of Infernal Stones :embarassed: . thats Gnomist, is what it is, i am reporting you to the RSPCG! just you watch me!

Any-ho, i must appologise for my absence, internet has been down for the last couple of days, but i will endevour to catch up and write my part.

Arinnaya
01-03-2006, 07:27 PM
(to Shanda):

well, if you absolutely need, you can depart... but let us meet Arcantis on the road, halfway, before we really split up. As for the Forsaken, they will not welcome us of course. I have thought about the following: the group is sneaking in. Then, after we tried spying, we are about to leave, when an outside patrol notices us: fortunately, the guards will see us already outside, so they will only give us a warning to leave, and not kill us, while we behave 'as commanded', and flee... They will also mention some gossips, and will behave only moderately rude... Then we can go and see what is the situation under the Violet Dome.

(to Nork):

Of course, all our characters are considered level 60, and you can think of their epic level campaign already...

(to ArKaneReviled):

You have not done anything wrong. It was in the plans, to turn the time morning, without any event... Just a thing: Your Dwarf actually sleeps in the same bed, as his Grizzly? Well, maybe just a bit uncommon for me...

ArKaineRevived
02-03-2006, 12:50 AM
No Paw sleeps on the ground, next to the bed, on the carpet, but i was wondering if there was some kind of "animal pen" at the tavern where you could leave your pet. Anywho, anyone know at what time this "ingame day" we will leave for Tarren Mill?

Arinnaya
02-03-2006, 02:06 AM
If I calculate it correctly, this will be day 4... since the start of adventure...
We have no agreement upon the month/season, you can make a suggestion... Better make it Spring - as Northrend would be the best to visit in Summer... in winter it would be even more hard to survive - but its up to you!!

Shanda
06-03-2006, 02:21 AM
hmm how can you interrupt a thing I have already said? and I did say that last sentance..oh well.. I can remove it then as that is what will happen eventually..

Nork
06-03-2006, 05:48 PM
oookay. We are still delaying here. If we want to reach TM before nightfall, might i suggest we do it now, whilst the morning is still very very young? id say its abought 0630hrs and we could reach TM at abought 1700hrs, just as the sun id setting. Giving TM an eerie twighlight in the setting sun, adding to the genral mood of the place.

Arinnaya
08-03-2006, 10:24 PM
Nork is right. We should depart as soon as possible... With the next post...

Some things just do not let me rest: If Tallian is an Argent Dawn member, then he must know it much better than Arinnaya: they also enlist some Undead members as well, and they accept Forsaken, just as Humans into their ranks. (just remember Light's Hope Chapel). If this is the case, your character would have a much better understanding of the situation, and the true enemies, than mine. For example, you should know that Tarren Mill is just a backwater, with no signs of the plague-developing fiendish sect there...

Shanda
09-03-2006, 09:29 AM
hehe nono hes not a member of the argent dawn, but as the argent dawn is the major force.. ehm besides the scarlet crusade fighting the undeadin plaguelands its just natural that THEY know who tallian is as hes such a killermachine, as I wrote in some post awhile back, hes also an archmage and had a high rank among the mages in dalaran but instead of staying thereand as to say use that power he left as thatrank ment nothing to him, nor do his fame among the argent dawn bit in his moment of rage he could not reallyrestrain himself .. as I also wrote Tallian said things he did not intend

hmm but theres something I dont really get.. did we throw insults at each other? screaming? nono as I also wrote Tallians words was blazing but also cold as a winters night. He did not shout nor I think was you while he spoke?
The whole post was ment as a small reminderof whatTallian in fact was and what you had done by insulting him.. it was not intended to be some kind of firefight with a silly tone of an argue :/

I am so, so, so very sorry. I have foresaken my RPing comrades. (Please, no letters with Razor blades or torch and pitchfork mobs). As soon as my schedule lightened up, I jumped back into WoW and completely forgot about you guys. I also got way too absorbed in my Fan-Fic work. I feel really bad about forgetting about you.   I'm going to do what I can to balance these things along with school work. I will resolve to do better.

Please don't abondon me... Please... :hanky:

Shanda
10-03-2006, 04:32 PM
But ofc we wont abandon you, your char is taggeling along.. abit quiet and so but shes still here. So take your time mate we will always be here :)

Arinnaya
10-03-2006, 07:01 PM
It is good to see that you have not abandoned us completely... Of course, if the DM says so.. your character will not disappear, and will be ready to take action with... On the other hand, I cannot offer to take over more characters: Arinnaya and Enalia will be more than enough...

An off-story question: Do you have any item(s) associated with your character, that he/she will obtain in the future?? I have invented a nice greatsword (with a story as well), for Elythriande, and a ring for Arinnaya.

Nork
11-03-2006, 04:29 PM
Elythriande? omg! what ever happened to Sweaping Tide??? Its been so long since I have seen that post, I must chase that up.

Also, it would be great to have you back Average, Been awhile since we have seen you, try not to leave it soooooo long next time, eh?

Erm also, Arinnaya, you need to pay attention to the locations of players a bit more. I did state that i would be waiting at the road leading out of the town. I was quite happy to stay, sat on the tree stump until you came bimbling past. But it would seem that i had to write a post to explain how, one secound i was at the exit and the next minuet, i was in the Tavern with Enalia.

Shanda
12-03-2006, 07:23 PM
hehe Nork I guess you also must pay attention to where the other are.. you nor Enalia witnessed my wehement outburst at Arinnaya, which she unfortunately made in to an argue -_- but Tallian had already gone when you and Enalia got back to the tavern.. not that it means so much :)

Nork
13-03-2006, 03:39 PM
:embarassed: guss ill just keep my mouth shut. :lipsrsealed:

Arinnaya
13-03-2006, 07:16 PM
No, you should not, for otherwise the thread will die...

May I ask a question?? Where is Aeralin?? I would starte the group off, if I knew where she exactly is (if I remember well, she has went to the backstreet to pay a visit to the stables, but she was not seen afterwards...

Shanda
13-03-2006, 08:24 PM
Hmm good question.. I guess il have to find her and bring her back on track then

Nork
14-03-2006, 02:22 PM
YAY! finally started the 3rd chapter. we shall call it.........Bob!

Shanda
14-03-2006, 02:58 PM
yeah! or.. "Intrusion at Tarren Mill" or just "Tarren Mill" but then Bob is a really good name to

I made Aeralins comeback abit short and non vivid I know but I have limited time atm so thats the best I could do with it. Il try to be more creative as we go.

I'd come back and start posting but... Umm....

.....

<ahem>
The umm... The Story Thus Far thing hasn't been updated in ages and really don't feel like reading through 14 some-odd pages of fairly long posts to catch up...

Sorry but I wasn't keeping track very well... :embarassed: :embarassed:

Nork
17-03-2006, 10:23 PM
I belive that Shanda has now successfully, by that i mean not missed anything out, so you should be able to catch up on us quite quickly. I would, howeve, like to point out that Karrin, my shadow Imp, has been sent out to scout Tarren mill. So if you want him to report any thing inparticular, i will insure that when i meet back up with him, i will detail it in his report of the place.

Arinnaya
18-03-2006, 09:29 PM
Shall I provide some chance of quest offered by common folks along the road?? I believe, we will need a way to replenish our money reserves.
By the way, how long shall the route to Tarren Mill last?? I believe, the 3-4 days suggested by Shanda is a bit too long. Unless we can fill it up with various other events happening.

Nork
19-03-2006, 04:20 PM
I would have to agree with Arinnaya, 3-4 days to tarren Mill seems a bit excessive, considering on the Cartography, it is mearly down the road and turn left. I would have to suggest no more than abought 32 hours of walking, so abought a day a night and a little bit more.

Shanda
19-03-2006, 05:52 PM
heh it was just thought by a mage that can port around.. no suggestion how long it takes is all up to you guys, it might even be better if it takes shorter time as I can use that in a way.. and I wont tell ya how!

Arinnaya
22-03-2006, 01:54 AM
Just keep up the storyline, even though I see you guís do not have much time for that... Anyway, we would welcome newcomers, even those without a character.... There are some awaiting to get taken over, like Arcantis, the Nerubian ( I hate to control 3+ characters in a single RP...).

I await your response... Besides, its is really-really time for Aeralin to give some reaction...

Nork
23-03-2006, 01:48 AM
So, just to re-illiterate, is there anything spacific you want my imp to report? If not, then it will be the usual, 4-5 man squad patroilling the parimiter, with a guard at the road entrance gate. PLease specify coz i will have karrin (the imp) return to the adventurers within the next couple of posts.

Arinnaya
23-03-2006, 08:57 PM
I think the Imp will find nothing special, which will mean a lot, of course, as we expected the Undead to concoct some sort of deadly poison, while in fact, they are not making any...

First: let us liberate Arcantis... He is in fact no Crypt Fiend, since he is a still alive Nerubian, seeking refuge from Northrend, and also planning a revenge.

I think we will have to avoid the Deathguards' patrol, then sneak into the crumbling town, hiding within one of the storehouses, to spy on the Undead from closer view...

An important notice: I think, we should finish these militiamen off, just to discover, they were no officials: They would turn out as being crew of the Syndicate, a rogueish faction. Thus it will bring no crime upon our hands killing them. What is more, they likely hold some stolen items they acquired secretly - among them, the missing sheep we would get some money for...

Nork
24-03-2006, 11:56 AM
Or we could kill and cook the missing sheep, thus we will get some free food instead. or not.

I figured that laying the militiamen unconciouse more adequet, we can tie them to a tree and interogate them.

Your Average WoW Player
10-04-2006, 04:03 AM
I'm trying to jump back in. It's proving difficult. It looks like you just killed some members of the Syndicate recently? At least, according to Nork's last post.

Nork
16-04-2006, 05:53 PM
yup, some one said that they wuld be Syndicate people. There dead now, so no need to worry abought them for a time being. We were actually going to kill a giant spider that turned out to be Arcantis and well, thats just abought it really.

Shanda
18-04-2006, 03:59 PM
Okey guys.. ive been absent for some time now but I have had alot of balls in the air one can say.. But im back now and will post as soon as you reach Tarren Mill, as I have quite a long post comming ^^

And for those who might not have noticed grysham has left us, dunno if its forever or just for the time being but in the meantime we must decide what to do with "sweeping tide" will talk more about that in the ST ooc..

so keep posting.. maybe il write something for Aeralin in not YAWP decides to jump in again, which we all hope he/she? will do :)

Arinnaya
21-04-2006, 11:31 AM
Sorry for being so slow - I had much to do in the past weeks.

Do I have to take over the 'spiderkin' Arcantis as well?? It might not entirely conform to the original concepts of Shadowrender, but I imagine him as being a Seer, a surviving member of the aristocratic elite of Azjol-Nerub.

I will add a new post very soon, to continue the story, thence...

Shanda
21-04-2006, 04:16 PM
hmm thats another thing we need to talk about.. we are getting to many chars to handle soon.. if people dont get back writing I think we need to cut down on some of them..

Nork
25-04-2006, 03:50 PM
Well it would seem that i have taken Brandor under my care for now, I can easily write for 2 people. If you need me to charge any one else, i would be more than happy to. Why not you take one Shanda? seeing as it is going to be on rare occasions that we will be hearing from Tallian for a while.

Arinnaya
26-04-2006, 11:58 PM
I really like the last two posts: I feel obliged to say these are masterfully weaved story-parts. Let's get it over with, let us start the Tarren Mill incident...

Apart from that, who may control Arcantis? While I can promise to utilize him for a while as the main anchor of the story, and our guide, I already have 2 others to control... And I intend not to forget about Enalia, devising plans about her (epic) future.

Oh, and something not to forget: (I almost tell it myself to often): To avoid characters becoming too powerful in the beginning, and storylines culminate too early. While Arinnaya is nothing more just a travelling priestess at the moment, it will take considerable more time for her to become something more powerful ( she will assume the rank of High Priestess only after the 3rd adventure ) And I will add something for Elythriande as well ( he will only appear very lately in the Northrend adventure)

Shanda
27-04-2006, 11:24 AM
I have some Ideas about finding that naga and take him as my third char.. Aeralin will just have to come with until YAWP can come back.

And about powerfull chars, Tallian is powerfull indeed but on the other hand he wont grown more powerfull really and with power comes knowledge so it wont really show.. but you will see.

Nork
28-04-2006, 03:56 PM
I have only made Nork powerful coz of his quest at hand. Though after his confrontation, he will indefintly become vary weakened. Though, to handicap things, he does not have full control of his power. Which oftan will result in 'overkill', so to speak.

If you want, i will control Arcantis for the time being. This will suit me to a tee as i want to interoggate him abought his journey from\to Northrend. Am i right in thinking that the early idea of catching a boat from Pyrewood Village still strands??? If so, i will make Arcantis give way to the secreat some how. But this matter I will have to be thought abought a bit more.

Shanda
28-04-2006, 05:49 PM
Do that Nork.. hmm btw what time is it.. day, night, noon, afternoon?

Arinnaya
29-04-2006, 12:47 PM
Sorry for interrupting a good story concept, but... does Arcantis actually know anything of Stratholme?? I mean, he is a Nerubian refugee, having little geographical knowledge of Azeroth or Lordaeron.

Another thing: I do not know well, if there is any Forsaken outpost at Stratholme/Naxarramas ? Because, then Arcantis has made a BIG mistake by stating he is a Scourge member.... This will mean greater trouble than I have ever imagined... but good luck to him, as a prisoner... to escape !!!

Nork
01-05-2006, 02:59 PM
What does it matter if he does or doesnt? Besides i would assume that the patrol was being carried out by no nothing, bottem of the barrel grunts, in a military group where questioning a superiour could mean loosing your head. Also they would not know who or what he is, as there is a cunningly placed mist\fog, hence the reason why they did not see us stright away, or could not recognise Arcantis for what he is. But dont worry, ill sort it out.

Shanda
10-05-2006, 02:34 PM

Halleluyah!!

At least, our long RPG is not lost... I was a bit upset about seeing the forums being cleaned up yesterday....

I will add a post soon-enough. Please, forgive me for my absence. Work can be really demanding, and exhausting sometimes, as you perhaps all know...

I liked Nork's flash-out stories. It contained some really powerful ideas. I have already regretted not starting a lvl 1 character from Northshire, but it seems we still have many places for our characters to visit. for example.. what about some plaguelands undead-grinding, before we go further??

Shanda
26-05-2006, 01:07 PM
Yeah it was actually someone who managed to remove all posts from almost the whole forum and place on the same place.. dont know if im allowed to say anything further about the topic.. but thats what happened

ive been away kinda much to.. school is about to end = much work.. and my guild has started BWL 2 weeks ago so I have alot of work there to.. but hopefully I will be able to post later

Glad to hear you are back Electro :)

Sorry i cant make uber long posts like i used to. Just got back from Iraq and i am spending most of my time getting wasted.

No worries. Glad you made it safe and sound.

As for the story sketch, let us spy on the undead for some time. we can learn a bit of their true identity and aims, while they think our characters are not around at all. As for Arcantis, he will not be around for the night (guess who made that noise prompting all soldiers rushing to the opposing edge of town..).

Um... I haven't been around here much, a little ashamed ever since I let my RPG die, so long ago. My Interest thread is still there :D.
But I don't suppose anyone could write up a STF? Cos the story looks awesome dudes, some really neat story telling, but I don't have the concentration to get through more than two pages at a time.
Just a thought...

Shanda
05-06-2006, 03:15 AM
well there you said something.. there is actually a STF thread.. I just havent found it yet.. but im working on it.. ^^

Update: Okey.. the STF thread is gone.. someone has deleted it .. its nowhere to be found in the entire forum.. so il have to do anotherone -_-

Arinnaya
14-06-2006, 09:00 PM
I have the following plans for the Tarren Mill part:

We will explore the place a bit, either by spying, evesdropping, or crawling around carefully.
It will turn out, that the Forsaken prepare for something - fortunately this is not the plage, that has killed the Arcmage.
The Deathguards will soon or later notice us - we cannot evade a fight
Finally, our adventurers will have to flee the place, as literally hundreds of fully-armed undead will swarm over (remember the TM raids?) Once we escaped, we can plan going westward through southern ridges of Alterac, straight towards Dalaran.
We have to fit Arcantis into the story somehow again, I have no idea this time how...

Please, post your ideas as well, so we could continue!!!

Shanda
15-06-2006, 12:05 AM
well Tallian IS there atm.. or in a glade nearby.. so I dunno what to do really.. but il figure out something if you just continue as before

electro
15-06-2006, 04:06 PM
Arcantis knows what they are preparing for, but doesn't want to tell the rest of the party?

Nork
18-06-2006, 03:32 PM
I figured that Arcantis would burrow his way to the barn, though not knowing that the others members are there, meeting up would be a coincindance. He was planning on spying on the town, just as much as what we are doing now.

Arinnaya
20-06-2006, 11:30 PM
Not bad. Though initially I played with the thought letting Arcantis making some noise on the other edge of the town (he actually did!), thereby fooling the undead, and thereafter... well he could be hiding somewhere around.

For the immediate story, I suggest, that after we started our investigatuion from close.. the undead will soon-or-later notice us. And then a desperate battle ensues. Our adventurers might attempt to hold up the Undead... but only for minutes at best. It will turn out, that there are hundreds of enemy soldiers, and we will be forced to flee. Without any direction to keep, just into the nightly land. Only after dawnbreak will the characters realize, that they took the wrong path - just leading upwards to north - but it will be too late to turn back then. And the mountainland of Alterac will stand before us.

Prepare for the battles with yetis, ogres, and mountain lions!!

May I join as well? You can see what kind of character I'll most likely join up by looking in Horde's Hope RP and at Folin Shadowblade. He's a Blood Elf Warrior and he's usually adventuring on his own so you guys most likely would happen across him while he's fighting off beasties or whatever. I'm flexible in RPs...

Up to you guys if I join or not. I don't really have much to do so...

I think we can push you in somewhere. but first post your character sheet here, and read the first page in this thread on how to do it properly after that we can decide a good place for you to start in.

Right, what i have done here is i figured that my Imp wuld be the start of everything going wrong. He's set a house ablaze in the hope of distracting the un-dead whilst we get close to the house. I have also had him see the genral strength of the town as well, with squads being inspected on the fields.

I figure that at first it would be going okay, all forces are distracted with putting the blaze out, we spy on the house for a bit, but before we manage to find anything special out, my Imp comes running back to me, whilst being chased by a patrol and that would be where we stand and fight for a bit, then more patrols come along and we run like hell.

Here's Folin's sheet.

Name: Folin Shadowblade
Race: High Elf
Age: 327
Class: Swordsman
Appearance: Folin stands at six feet, five inches, and has a muscular build as any in his family would. His skin is lightly tanned from years of wandering the world, fighting. His hair is a blonde color, and his eyes glows a light blue. He has tattoos on his chest and back and along his arms. Bandages can be seen, wrapped all over his hand and down to his elbows. His feet and calves are wrapped as well in bandages.
Equipment: Other than simple clothes, Folin wears black armor and black shoulder guards, covering much of his chest except for his arms. He also wear black leggings, belt, and boots. He wears heavy leather gloves to grip his sword better. Other than the black armor pieces he wears, Folin doesn't wear anything else for protection though he does sometimes has a shield with him. As for weapons, Folin has two long swords in scabbards, strapped to his belt. Both are elven long swords, enchanted to strike with a freezing bite. However, his main weapon is the serrated broadsword Folin carries with him all the time. This sword is known as the Shadow Blade, and is a family treasure. It appears to be an ordinary sword, though with a razor-sharp serrated edge, but it is imbued with mysterious magic which none in his family has been able to learn of.
Backstory: Folin was born to Taldan and Farin Shadowblade, in Quel'Thalas. He was the seventh of twelve children, and as of now, the last surviving Shadowblade. He first joined the Silvermoon Army, willing to learn how to fight. For the next few decades, he became a swordsman and was promoted to the rank of captain. One day, Silvermoon had come under attack by none other than the Scourge, led by the fallen prince Arthas. Folin fought alongside his valorous brethen in the defense of Silvermoon, even to the point of fighting to the last man. He was the sole survivor of the attacks on the western gate, only surviving because he was knocked over the bridge. The undeads had paid him no mind, as they believed he would drown. Folin didn't, that much was obvious. The swordsman returned home to Silvermoon after several days and found the entire city in ruins, and the Sunwell befouled by the ressurection of the lich Kel'Thuzad. He stared at the once great city of Silvermoon, now in ruins and the very ground, deadened, and swore a vow to never rest until the Scourge was destroyed. Returning to his home, Folin found his family dead, and took what he could. He gathered all the gold he could find in his home, and took the family sword, the Shadow Blade. For the next few years, he worked as a mercenary swordsman, gathering more gold and joining any raids on the Undead Scourge. Eventually, Folin came to be a well-known warrior, armored in black armor and wielding his terrible sword. Currently, his wherebouts are unknown, but the popular rumors going around is that he's leading an one-man raid on Icecrown itself, fighting off hundreds of undead soldiers single-handilystanding as an unbeatable pillar of strength against the perverted foundations of the Scourge, eventually succumbing to impossible odds. Any real scholars know to ignore these rumors and instead wonder where a vengeful Blood Elf would have gone to...

Yo, I'm brand new to RP'ing, never done it before, so I'm kinda cautious, any help would be greatly appreciated. :P I used to play WoW a lot, but haven't played it so much lately, so if I'm a bit rusty or inaccurate on places or things, just let me know and I'll edit. Not gonna join the RP just yet, might in a while. :P I'll post a character sheet now, if anything's wrong, let me know (in a nice way. :P) and I'll edit it.

Name: Azures
Race: Night Elf
Class: Rogue

Appearance: Dark blue long hair, straight down to mid-back, with a small ponytail at the top. Bright yellow eyes, with a red mask over lower face. Pale blue skin, and a full Defias armour set. He has a medium length black and red cape, with a long sword, and a dagger. Also carries a large collection of Throwing Daggers.

Background Story:

Little is known of Azures. But what is known I will inform you of. His parents are unknown, when he was young he was abandoned. One day he found a blue hood, in Darnassus. He was running along, after pickpocketing a human warrior, when he was caught by a Druid named Xitan. Xitan took him into the woods, and made him empty his pockets. He saw the cloth and noticed it was an Azure hood. He asked Azures what his name was, but realised he had none, and therefore named him Azures. Azures and Xitan made great friends, the only one he had ever made, and they visited Stormwind together, where Xitan got in contact with an agent from SI:7 (if that's wrong name, let me know, still a bit rusty. :P) Azures was contacted by this agent, and learned he had been described as an excellent Rogue. They recruited him, and when Xitan found that Azures had finally got something better to do with his life, he bought him a powerful small dagger.

Azures was sent out recently on a reconnaisance mission, and after getting valuable information, suddenly vanished. Since then nothing has been heard of Azures, and nobody seems to know what happened to him...

(comments to the post above)

as for me, it is totally OK. All you need is a well-elaborated backstory (looks like you actually got a nice one), and an appropriate entry point. As for the latter, I cannot tell you more than an advice, since Shanda is the DM. (ask him).

We are currently traped at tarren Mill. The Undead are conducting some horrid experiments in a nearby house. If you sacrifice your character, maybe you can portrait him as a prisoner captured (and we liberate him before he becomes just another dead experiment subject of the Forsaken)

If you have both patience and time, maybe we can meet up later. After we escape the situation, we are likely to head towards the Alterac ridge. It is only seldomly travelled by outsiders, but maybe we can meet up there. (What about the Stormpike encampment?)

Or you can work out your own story. Everything is fine, so long as we do not just 'stumble' upon you running by. You can make up your own mission or quest your character partakes, and asks us for help!!

Oh, and just a comment. Maybe I read too many warcraft RP books, but keep in mind, that (Unlike in WOW), Night Elves are rare guests in the Eastern Kingdoms. They seldom leave their homeland to become adventurers on their own, and even more rarely travel the lands of Lordaeron. You really need a good backstory to explain that.

Oh, and we have way too much SPIDERS with us.. if your character is an arachnofobiac, this is not for you...

Azeurus
25-06-2006, 10:06 PM
Awesome thanks. :P True that Night Elves rarely leave their place, but Azures had nothing to stay for, he's a curious person, and as a Rogue, doesn't like to stay in the same place for too long. And I'm totally patient, I can wait for a good entry point, and as Azures was lost on a mission, he can get easily tied in with anything. :P Don't worry, spiders are fine by me. xD

Azeurus we can prolly fit you in somewhere but as i said to Aldan it must be at a later event as we really need to continue our story and get it back on track^^

And that is partly why i kinda ruin Nork and Arinnayas little event with the house sorry guys :( if you really want to make something out of it il delete my post and remake it but we need to get going somewhere. but just poke me and we can work out a different turning of that.

ps: hey Nork why did Tallian heard the party outside Oo you have to tell me that :P

I suggest, that after such action-rich night, we should really rest through the next day in a lazy fashion. Currently, as I have added, the travellers have escaped northwards from Tarren Mill, just entering into the picturesque mountainlands of Alterac. Currently we are around Corrahn's dagger or Solfera's naze. The landscape is beautiful, as it is wild. The Hunters can feel themselves at home, finally.

For the future plans, I suggest touching the ruins of Alterac later (after several Yeti caves and Ogres). We will even reach the Alterac Valley, where we meet up with the Strmpike encampment. I though about leaving Brandor there (as he is an explorer, after all), or perhaps exchanging for another NPC.

I have no further ideas, so be creative, and think of something to add!!

I do not understand a word of these hints... Nevertheless, feel free to leaborate your posts.

As an answer to Shanda's post (on quickening the storyline), this is the firs time I do not agree. I have enjoyed the moments of our little story, and it made me all forget about the greater plans. I feel this is the best you can expect from an RP: complete immersion into the story and characters.

The purpose of making the characters talkative is just a chance to elaborate and press the aims and personal stories of each character. I do not know how you feel about this, but I made up quite a deal of story in my mind as background for Arinnaya - and if you give chance, I will tell them. And I made enough surprise and amusement plans for the future as well...

As for the planned route, originally we planned hillsbrad->silverpine->tirisfal->travel by ship. This has no chance of happening now (mainly because of the storyline shifts).
therefore, I though of the following: what about a hillsbrad->alterac->plaguelands->naval travel route?
I would really need to know if elactro (Enalia) agrees, for if I remember well, he had some plot elements in connection with Silverpine Forest.

Oh, and lastly, try to make out a highly plausible reason for going to Northrend. Nork has a very good reason for this, but I still feel the reasoning for my character very weak (if you want to see the word, why start at the thoughest corner?). I will have to work on the plot of Arinnaya and suggest the same for those who have not presented a clear story yet. And one word lastly: try not to forget about Arcantis (as I did, excuse me for that). It seems, that Nork can play wonderfully the darker, evil characters, so mind if I suggest you to take him over for a while?

I feel that (and this is for the good, guys!), that the aligments of our characters (and all those that are handled by us) have begun to take a crystallinized form. I will try to summerize that - according to d20, DnD and WarRPG - which aligments we have taken. Confirm me if I am right or not:

Nork - Neutral Evil (alignment title:'Malefactor'): Purely selfish type, with no concern for other people or the law, but without as much lust for killing as Chaotic Evil characters.

Tallian - Lawful Neutral (alignmet title: 'Judge'): They are disciplined and believe that adhering to and enforcing laws and traditions is the most important thing. They will not generally go out of their way to help others but will intervene to stop crime.

Arinnaya - Neutral Good (alignment title: 'Benefactor'): They believe that a balance somewhere between total order and total chaos is best, and would generally concentrate on doing the morally right thing without worrying about whether it was good or bad for 'society'.

Enalia - I do not have enogh information from the relatively sparse posts of electro to determine it. (but you can add it!!)

(the DnD terms and texts were taken from this site (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A2309230))

What do you think?

Shanda
01-07-2006, 02:28 AM
well about the alignment for Tallian.. well hes good of course but not a lawbound type, there is so much more for people to discover about him but as we keep falling into all these events we dont get any time to talk and reflect. And my thought was that a long travel on boat would fix this.. but as you have objections we will not do that..

About plauguelands..heh for the sake of Tallian plz not.. if we were to go there things I dont want to give out yet would be needed to hand out. And besides.. my "quickening was not ment to be 3 posts were we fast traveled to silverpine and took a ship.. but that we atleast left Alterac and began out travel there.. many things will happen in silverpine I can guess.. with shadowfang keep there and all..

but after some thought I think we should go Alterac-silverpine-boat.
but fall to a slooow pace in Alterac due to the dangers in that region. And spend some time talking to each other instead of killing or whateva. it will give characters time to enter the story and also dwelve deeper into each others characters.

So that is my suggestion. but we should hear what Nork and Electro has to say.. and by all means Azeurus abd Aldan, because they will soon be a part of out adventure.

And also.. that we should let some characters fall away as we will soon be abit to many to handle.. i my opinion.

Nork
01-07-2006, 05:12 PM
I knew what you ment by fast paceing the story abit, move along away from tarren Mill. But Alterac and Silverpine Villagearnt theareas you can fast track past anyway, with the Ogers and the people turning to Worgen. The post i had put up, but had to be deleted had us resting up and moveing on in the same post, it also had Arcantis explain where he had been and how he had gotten to the house in Tarren Mill, but i can slap that in some where else, so no one has forgotten abought Arcantis, he's just moved, so to speak.

Arinnaya, i had completly forgotten abought the DnD rule set. Neutral Wvil would just abought sum Nork up. Completly selfish in his quest, but maintains some of his good natured side. Without so much thought on what hapenes to others, his quest for vengence is all that consumed him.

my allignment with the party and enviroment = chaotic neutral (Free Spirit) - A strange and very rare alignment. Chaotic neutral characters are very unpredictable individualists, being governed by whatever they feel like doing at the moment.
as you should know :p
and for the plotline of my story, any undead region will do

Just to give some reflection to Shanda's comments:

The idea to touch the plaguelands has come of a certain problem: it seems, that our adventurers are rather unskilled in battling the Undead, so why don't we get some training before going to their homeland?? Otherwise, it would also be fine, if we only touch it after we have returned. Say the scourge has some nasty plans for invading the world, and therefore they leave no force on Northrend - all of them are commanded onto Lordaeron. So say, while we battle 'em on the north, they are instead pressing the attack on the south... Does it sound reasonable??

As for the original plans, I imagined a nasty turn (it has no chance now): we get captured by the forsaken, while we are planning our journey. The adventurers have to face the cunning evil Varimathras, and either accept his proposal, or face execution. The plan of the Forsaken would have been simple: instead of endangering their own forces, they send us to accomplish a suicide mission on Northrend. And to enforce compliance, they send quite a few elite deathguards with the shipment. Undead on both sides.... no bright outlook.. or yet still??

As for your alignments, It is totally up to your attitude (perhaps all of you have tried the alignmet calculator on the linked site). I will not quarrel with i, I just shared my observations.

Another topic: I have been listening to all kind of music while thinking of the plots today, and found some tracks that nicely match for certain enviroments:

OST-navras (matrix revolutions soundtrack) - adventures on the Frozen North

OST-Tetsujin (matrix rev sountr.) - Draktharon Keep

A Princess is captured (Prince of Persia trilogy soundtracks) - Blood Elven Haven

Farah (Prince of Persia trilogy soundtracks) - Sunset in Suramar Palace

I do not know whether these soundtracks are accessible for you as well, but I had considerable fun with them. Maybe if you have other ides, submit them so we can discuss...

lets just see where the story takes us...

But about your newest post Ari.. perhaps you should read the others before you write yours. As Tallian was speaking mostly to YOU as you asked the question.. and why would you ask and then simply go away?.. and also Tallian wanted to know about your journey.. and that also mostly directed to you : / as you.. asked the first question. its pretty hard to write down conversations when not everyone follows them up, and it makes the story see abit,,.well as we arent writing about the same thing.

I think everyone.. including me should take some time and read what the others wrote.. and the reflect what it might have meant.. and THEN write your own post so it matches and slips in with the other..

I am... really sorry for the confusion I made. I hope it has not broken the story entirely. any time, there are some unexpected actions in the RP, but this was perhaps too much. I thoughts it was the dwarf that asked for Tallian's story most eagerly, not the Priestess.

Actually, what I planned for Arinnaya to tell about her, was another bit of her family story. I will rather tell the tales bit-by-bit as the character remembers her past in fragments...

Arinnaya could tell what has driven her to enter the priestly order, and how she ended up in Stormwind, after a long trek with the refugees.

But show no worry. Just ask her if you wanted to hear any tale. Arinnaya is a good storyteller. from place-to plce, she will always have something to add.

Don't worry be happy...

I do not exactly know what I should do with Nork gone... Where has he gone? And where is Arcantis?? Since they are both controlled by you, I assumed they were in the group, but they are not anymore??

Nork, would you like to make up some nice stories for Arcantis?? As far as I remember, he wasintended to be a priest-classed nerubian.. but what deities could they be worshipping?? I bet the Nerubians broke away from C'Thun's influence thousand years ago. After all, Anub'arak referred to the broken ones, and the Forgotten One (the avatar of the Old God) as mere 'legends of the past'

So we should really think about the 'spider religion'.. Unless one of you has the 'Lands of Mysteries' Warcraft RPG book, that contains more details.

To circumvent the problems, I assumed Arcantis is a seer. This means he was a respected elite of his kin, adept in both arcane and divine lore... But as he took refuge in Lordaeron, he will not rest until his brother has been saved, and his vengeance upon the Scourge has not been fulfilled.

ooo, it felt good hitting that post reply after typing out such a long post. Hopefully now youll understand Arcantis a bit more and perhaps not see Nork as just a shadowy evil demon summing ball of wrath.

Also, as i was typing up Arcantis, i noticed and maybe you will notice aswell, that Arcantis is more intwined with this poisen than previousely acknowladged. Happened purely by mistake, but adds, what i think, such a crucial little thred.

I suppose I might enter this, but it's my first Warcraft RP, so bear with me...

Name:Nuandor Silverdown
Race:Night Elf
Class:Druid
Weapon:Longbow, Gnarled wooden staff.
Appearance:Nuandor is most commonly seen wearing attire made from what seems to be fallen leaves woven onto a leather backing. Nuandor wears a tunic of this sort to cover the top of his shoulders and across his chest. His stomach is left bare, but is covered by the Night Elf's long white beard. Nuandor's pants and boots are made from animal hide, and are held up by a dark sash. His bow and quiver rest on his back, while the old druid uses his druidic powers to conjure a staff whenever he needs it. On occasion, Nuandor can be seen wearing a stag's horns headdress. Nuandor also takes on the form of the White Stag he is famous for, most commonly, though other forms are also used on occasion.

Background:Before the coming of the Burning Legion and the destruction of the Well of Eternity in ages past, the Demigod Cenarius on occasion took some of the ancient Night Elves under his wing, and taught them the powers of druidism, before any other did. Nuandor Silverdown was one of the last of Cenarion's chosen, and was under his tutelage for only a small amount of time before the Well of Eternity was destroyed. Thrown into chaos by the actions of Queen Azshara, Nuandor spent much time with the Arch-Druid Malfurion Stromrage in his attempts to repair the damage caused. However, when the time came to go to the Emerald Dream, Furion's right hand was denied the honour of sleeping in the same dens as Furion. Constructing his own hollow, a small barrow on the northern slopes of Hyjal, Nuandor spent the next ten thousand years as any of the other Druids, deep within the Emerald Dream, learning what he could from Ysera, his powers growing with every decade that passed. Unlike the other Druids, Nuandor was not awoken until after Archimonde’s defeat at Hyjal. As per Furion’s orders, he wanted to keep Nuandor’s sect of druids safe unless greater troubles threatened the Night Elves further.

heres my char. please accept it. pm me if there's anything wrong w/ it

Name: Genbakka
Race: Tauren
Age: 89
Class: Shaman
Appearance: He's very well groomed,w/ most of his hair braids weaved in w/ his beard. Most of his hide is dark brown, but there is a large white blotch of fur on his stomach. His horns probably stand out the most: they're broken off at about 1/2 ft long. He's also not as meaty around his chest area as most other tauren, most of his muscle being in his legs.
Equipment: He doesn't carry much, except for his strangely decorated staff, a small sack attached to his belt, and is wearing armor made of what appears to be bone and fur.
Backstory:Genbakka grew up a shame to his family, all because they were warriors, while he was more interested in the spiritual aspect of tauren life. This side of him was not revealed to them until just 5 years ago. It all started a long time ago. He was taking his usual morning jog through the mountain paths, until Genbakka noticed that something was different today: there was a large boulder in his way. He crept up behind it, and started hearing voices from the other side. There was something strange about these voices though. It was almost as if they just weren't tauren, not even earthly for that matter. Genbakka peered around the side of the boulder, and was stunned by what he saw: a huge crater, with a small treelike structure right in the middle. The next thing shocked him even more: there was a troll standing next to it , praying. He then immediately approached the troll, and the troll greeted him politely. " It is good that you are finally here," the troll said. " What do you mean? Who are you, what are you doing on my land!?" exclaimed Genbakka. " You," the troll said and pointed at Genbakka " are to be my apprentice in the shamanic arts, for I see that you are miserable with your tribe's warring ways." The rest is history: Genbakka accepted the troll's offer, and soon became a shamanic prodigy. The only problem was that no one in his village accepted his ways, and he was exiled. Now he is on the search for someone who will accept him and a home that he could fit into.

I am happy to see new faces in this world. Basically, both characters are acceptable (though I am not the DM), there are only minor issues you must kep in mind before entering into this storyline:

The story we participate is currently takes place on the Eastern Kingdoms (more closely:Alterac Mountains), with the future plans of travelling to Northrend.

The party we have is certainly Alliance-favoured. I do not say, that we would attack Horde characters on sight (except Undead), but you really need to twist things should you want a Tauren on the scene (for example, Arinnaya has not even seen a Tauren in her life). Orcs are generally viewed as bloodthirsty creatures, and Trolls as cannibals, so it will not be an easy run....

Look for an appropriate entry point, finding a story plot for your characters. This is not an average open-RP that allows you to 'pass by the way' of us. If you really want to participate, think out a believeable story why you are here, and then consult with Shanda for an entry point plot.

Keep in mind, that our story contains already skilled adventurers, who will be about to start out on epic level adventures. Your caharacters should have some expereince at least of adventure, and the best if he/she already knows most skills of survival out there. You may have experience of entire parts of the world, even friends and allies out there.

The sense of distances in this world are like the real-world ones. Therefore you should NOT be able to 'ride a griffon from one end of continent to the other in 1/2 hours, or take a ship across the sea in 5 mins'. Distances are quite large, in truth, for example Tarren Mill being 2 days walk from Southshore. To fill in the distances., you may (and you must) add objects and places non-existant in the game.

Unlike the WOW game, you have much liberty in configuring your character: you may multiclass freely in either DnD or Warcraft RPG terms. Only one thing to keep in mind: BE REALISTIC. do not make your character omnipotent, and make them react realistically with the world. For example, a Night Elf might feel lonely, or even homesick on Kalimdor, while he/she might meet surprise, or even serious distrust from people who have never sen one of his/her kind. Tra to press the alignmet and the goals of your character. Do not be shy: Someone dreaming of conquering the world may also be a valuable plot character. The worst is certainly tagging along without any personal aims or goals.

And last of all: ENJOY THE RP !!!

Grimace I dont see any probs with your char. Atm I think a good point for you to enter would be when the rest of us enter Plaguelands, as I have decided that we should do so. But of course if you have any other ideas just send me a mess and we can work it out.

Drizztfan: As much as you might want to play a Tauren or horde character in general it might be very hard for the rest of us to be, as Arinnaya said, non hostile. And my suggestion is that you make an Alliance char, or a atleast a non horde one. tho if you also have any suggestions just mess me. and we can try to come up with something.

To the rest: Keep the writing up! as we need to move on so that "new blood" can enter and replace some of our spare characters.

and also and add to Arinnayas post above.

7. Please try to make your post of somewhat lenght! always post three or more paragraphs every time. This is to keep a somewhat good standard on writing. and also for the readers to have something to actually read.

im so very sorry, but I actually forgot to say that I vent on holiday ... but im back now and will start writing again as fast as possible

tho.. not much has happened here :P

Arinnaya

I am not worried about people going on holiday... It is much more troubling that our number has shrunk to 3. Maybe a bit more attention and we will be back on the track soon.

In the meantime, I have made plans for my characters' future equipment, possible story plots, as well as their past... Now you can just ask Arinnaya, how did she actually become a priest, and she will be able to tell it.

I have also thought about a bit more lively RP using some other methods (MSN everyone?? Despite that I have no address displayed, I can give you mine, shoudl we decide a 'live' RP chat.. It is even better than WOW in-game RP..)

For the continuation of the story, I have the following in mind: while searching the cave through again, we will find a secret passage within: this will provide us with a shortcut into the heartlands of Alterac... The current ruins of the once-glorious kingdom will be there, filled with ogres.
Maybe a bit later, after the ogre-slaying, we could turn ito another direction to seek out a hidden valley, where the dwarves are at trouble (PvP anyone?). Brandor will remain there to help Prospector Stormpike, while the rest of us continues towards north... By the way, which way should we choose? To the abndoned city of Strahnbrad, or rowing through the mysterious, sinister lake of Lordamere??...

By the way, if you feel so, we can go off-storyline a bit as well, discussing future character plots in peer-review. I never made a secret from having some grand plans for my character, and I feel the same about you as well... For example, I would bet in $1000 that Tallian will turn to (or at least attept) to become a Blood Mage, and Enalia will also become a true hero in the eyes of the Elves.. I wonder if you have guessed anything about Arinnaya?? I promise it will be a nice surprise... though some things are still in just the initial design phase.

Besides, I have also thought deeply about the equipment of our characters, and the ways we could give them the choice to obtain new pieces through questing. This must become a major option as we will be heading towards epic heights. If you are interested, I will post some sketches on this matter.

heh well it sounds good.. but I have a sligh problem with time.. school have started now and I have daily raids with my guild which consumes alot of time, but to the weekend I wilkl be able to write something perhaps larger.

about talking about our chars.. do you mean as we would unravel some things on "OOC" just so ppl dont get confused later?..
if that is the case.. well sure, but my plotting for shanda might be the biggest surprise for everyone here I think.,.. thereby I cannot slip just that tidbit out!.. tho lesser things is no problem of course.

so keep writing my friends dont feel that I have to post just for us to continue.. and in this case doubleposts are allowed

Oh my, a World of Warcraft Role play? Marvellous.=P

So, I'm new to World of War.net (let alone the forums) and this is my first post.^^ (*cheers*) I adore RPing and am very much interested in joining the World of Azeroth. However, the size of the RP thread worries me that I will not keep up with the present story line. I have read the Story line thread also, but am unsure wether it is up-to-date and wether I am missing anything. Plus, I have many questions on my mind:

-Are Horde characters allowed? I've always assumed Azeroth was the name of the world, not the Alliance side (hopefully).

There are others, but I've currently had a memory lapse, so...yeah.xD

I shall eagerly await a reply.^^

to Zuzela: Welcome into our circle!!!
I am afraid I cannot give you details on whether you may enter with a Horde character or not? Shanda is the DM, so he shall tell you the final word. I can only suggest you to work hard on a plausible story or plot for your character(s). If it's Undead, better forget it, but if not, they might work under certain restrictions (though neutral or Alliance characters might be better: it is mainly because the storyline starts at Lordaeron). Heads up, we may find a place for you in the storyline.

To make things easier, I will list you the most important characters. Currently some of them are without owners (their creators quit):

Tallian Swift (mage/human): owned by Shanda
Arinnaya Goldweaver (priestess/human): owned by me
Enalia Naendel (huntress/night elf): owned by electro
Nork the Traveller (warlock/gnome): owned by Nork

Brandor (hunter/dwarf): NPC
Arcantis (priest (or seer?)/nerubian): NPC
Aeralin (huntress, high elf): NPC, practically out of story.
the others: out of story

Now you see, that we are clearly lacking some classes. With in-game terms, we need a tank!! Or you can be whatever you want, just keep in mind: our group heads to the north, deep into the plaguelands (and maybe even northwards...)

to the others: I have not forget about what I have promised: I send you a sketch about one of the items I created to be a faithful companion on the highly epic campaign end... I will add further examples of concepts tomorrow, including the future staff of Arinnaya, her wand, rings, jewels and maybe even some bodywear.

So, here it goes:

Elaya'Serrar (the Dancing Blade)
*****************************
(legendary, unique, soulbound)

'the mighty warblade of Elythriande'

Crafted specifically for the elven chapion known as Elythriande, this powerful greatsword was created uniting the essences of two, already powerful weapons - Destiny's Edge and Thunderfury Axe - its is no surprise that this weapon carries powerful enchantments, beyond imagination of common mortals.

Description:
*********

The pommel of this fine elven warblade is formed from a single mighty Storm Chrystal, placed into a golden socket. These gems are rarely found on the world of Azeroth, but are readily collected in the far-flung corners of the Netherworld. Their colours change just as the cloudy sky does - from dark greyish to light blue. The main value of these chrystals is their unparalelled ablilty to store huge amounts of raw magical energy - making them highly
praised among enchanters.

The hilt of the blade - made from precious wood - is covered with a durable, red cloth. The golden crossguards of the sword are forming two feathered dragonhawk wings. The long, but still narrow blade of the saber follows a very
gently curve; its surface is polished with truesilver and richly decorated - carrying intricately carved plant ornamentics of golden colour, running along the whole edge.

Though its core contains a secret alloy, the main bulk of the blade is forged from mithril - making it both durable and surprisingly light. So small is the weight of the sword, that it can be held and fought with in one hand if
needed. Nevertheless, due to its size, this act is not recommendable, as the blade stretches about one and a half of an adult man's full arm.

To the mighty sabre belongs an artfully-sewn sheath: hanging upon a red thread, passing through the golden buckles fastened upon the stiff, greyish cover, possessing barely two golden lines as decoration-in contrast to the
almost-ceremonial sword

A true pinnacle of craftmanship - its design hailing from the ages before the Sundering - the raw blade was forged by the most talented swordsmiths of Ironforge. Straightly after it was enchanted using the powers of the best known sorceror of the former Thalassian kingdom. This imressive weapon was created for the personal use of Elythriande and may not be handled by anyone else.

Statistics:
********
(only a sketch yet)

According to the traditional DnD rulebooks, Elaya'Serrar is a +5 Thundering Holy Shock Greatsword of Speed. This means -translated into Warcraft-roughly the following: In addition to the benefits of Haste (improved armour class, additional attacks per round and faster run/walk speed, it also adds holy and nature damage to evil or unnatural creatures (consider demons and undead). On a successful critical hit, one shall take additional harm from the roaring thunder the blade emits, and be stunned under its effect, unless save. So technically it isn't 'dancing' at all For the purpose of restrictions, assume that the blade is Good-aligned and Chaotic-aligned. In the hand of a
right warrior it truely makes for a devastating weapon.

To be less technical than the former - and to convert it to more WOW-like terms - the stats change into the following:

Elaya'Serrar, the Dancing Blade

Soulbound

Unique

Two-Hand Sword

166-333 Damage Speed:3.50

+20-40 Nature Damage

+20-40 Holy Damage

(88.6 damage per second)

Classes: Warrior

Durability: 120/120

Requires Level 70

Equip: Increases your chance to get a critical strike by 2%

Equip: Increases your chance to parry an attack by 2%

Chance on hit: You enter a furious battledance, increasing your attack speed by 50% for 15 seconds and stunning all enemies you hit for 5 seconds.

These stats may look overpowered for you in an RPG, even beyond level 30 (in DnD terms: that corresponds to about WOW level 90). Note that this section is rather a sketch and all notes here are up for a change once it gets to implementation. ( this weapon will not be crafted until the end of the 4th adventure - currently we are at number 1). The final stats are planned to be similar to Quel'Zeram, the fabled High Elven blade (+7 brilliant energy greatsword of speed), taken from the WarcraftRPG book Shadows and Light.

Zuzela! I am very happy that you find our little corner here interesting and I would be even more so if you could join us.

So to your questions first. About being a horde : / Im afraid its not an option anylonger, the title sais "azeroth" but that was just what i wrote first a long time ago when we didnt even know what this roleplay would be about.
But including horde characters will be hard as many in our party has a deep rooted anger towards the horde (tho not everyone knows which :) )

But any alliance race.. or if you wish any other race that isnt considered "evil" or assiciated with the horde is okey. And your class dosent need to follow wow the game, you can be most about whatever you want.. Just dont be to powerfull, as its hard to play a powerfull char whitout ruining the Rp.

And I know that the "STF" isnt uppdated but I will see to that soon, but I still think that you should read through the Roleplay, it is alot, but it will tell you what has happened far better then the STF.

So post your character sheet here in this thread. if it works you can join in whenever you want, but we can discuss that later when we have your char here to look over.

Wonderful! I see Shanda has finally completed the abridged summary for the story. It is certainly a necessity for all newcomers, and laso for those that wish to re-join after spending some time off.

I have thought about a relatively simple method for a real-time RP, or sharing ideas outside this forum. Have you see the WOW IRC? Well, it does contain numerous, but barely-used rooms (the same is true for the WOWRPG room as well). Whyt if we would make a live section there? Exchanging ideas real-time would never hurt.

Oh, and something: I have made further sketches about characters, items, subplots, so all about the stuff needed to make an RPG interesting. I have also toyed with the standard DnD rulesets and character classes, trying to make a fitting prestige class build for some characters... If you wnat to poen a discussion on this issue, please share your ideas as well...

Okey, we have abit of problems here as Nork seems to have vanished. So I suggest that we try to find a way to skip the whole northrend thing and instead, along the way, get cought up in something in plaguelands.

And also we need to loose some members along the way, but we have quite some time I guess.

Cave/tunnels--alterac--border, alterac/WPL--WPL/EPL.

I think the above should be our "zones" to play in.

And for now, keep writing :) im in a state of writinglust here.

Arinnaya
04-09-2006, 09:57 PM
The story repeats itself... now I could say the same for electro, with regards of consistency...

I will add a new bit of story in order you show me green light, Shanda. I have a few ideas how to continue from this disturbed state...

The concept to enter the Plaguelands is great, though I could really like if we could spend a day or two at the ruins of Alterac, or even Alterac Valley (the battleground) if you would like it as well. After it, we could continue through Strahnbrad to the Western Plaguelands, to see what fate befell Lordaeron.

I have modified Arinnaya's storyline a bit, to make it less game-like. Having deleted the Kalimdor episode, I have settled with the fact, that she was one of the exiles that fled to Stormwind, and later spent several years in seclusion, between the protective walls of Northshire. But right after she has 'graduated', her travels have begun in order to not only help those refugees that ailed to return to the lands of Lordaeron, but also to discover and see: what fate befell this mighty kingdom, with her own eyes.

Shanda
05-09-2006, 01:09 PM
Well like I said above Cave/tunnels--alterac--border, alterac/WPL--WPL/EPL.

But I dont think we should really enter Alterac valley. we can pass the entrance but we should not join in the battle. But its a good spot to loose some chars.

That the only thing tho so "green lights lit"

Arinnaya
06-09-2006, 10:57 PM
I think I have made up some quest-sketches for the near future.

If we indeed intend to enter the Plaguelands, then maybe we will be heading eastwards. There will the events commence:

Upon nearing Corin's Crossing we would witness a huge battle between hundereds of undead ambushhing out of nowhere - and a batallion of Scarlet Crusaders. Caught between the enemies, we will have to choose side: ewen with helping the living, the crusders are going to be suspicious...

Upon being escorted to the last safe haven of humanity on the Plaguelands: Tyr's Hannd, we would meet the true leaders of the fanatic crusaders - and become prisoners whether we like it or not.

We would learn more about the wonderous way how Tyr's Hand was able to withstand the Scourge, and Arinnaya would find palpable evidence of the Legend of the Lightbringer.

Our escape from Tyr's hand would bring much excitement, craft and threachery into the storyline...

Shanda
07-09-2006, 02:21 AM
hmm I dunno.. Tallians past is very heavy in plaguelands.. most soldiers there know his name and many even his face. I was thinking about a battle.. but between the scourge and the Argent dawn. Then we can have an "intrusion" by the scarlet crusade which can end up in a capture, but not everyone! some escapes and then tries to save those that are captured. Which with our number can only be 1 or 2 persons :)

You wanna be captured Ari? :P anyway, we still need to fix the little mess we have atm and then we have to reach plaguelands in the story :/ so we have plenty of time to discuss this.

Arinnaya
08-09-2006, 08:55 PM
I do not know what you hold about the factions on the plaguelands, but according to my experience, the Argent Dawn was never more numerous than just a handful of activists asking for help and recruiting you to fight the Scourge. On the other hand, there are entire towns in the hand of the Crusade, which maintains its presence with its numerous, and well-equipped troops.

I am not a fan of the Crusade (OOC). Not even Arinnaya is. But there would be others, whom the Priestess knew personally from Northshire. At those troubled times, many of the Paladins and Priests left to fight the undeath on the Northlands, and to protect its inhabitants. Many of them never returned, nor any news whether they were dead or alive. Since then, the relations with the Crusade have been sewered, and nothing is known of them for certain.

Meeting them will just provide some chance to sketch wonderful story-arcs. But there is also another reson why I have chosen Tyr's hand. Its cathedral is indeed ancient place, dating back several hundred years, even a millenium. It was one of the most sacred place for the Holy Light: its thick stone walls are keeping ancient secrets and powerful, sacred relics as well. The Legends of the Lightbringer does not refer to the knight Uther, but rather to the very founder of the Church of the Holy Light: a mysterious prophet, who lived almost a millenium ago, always referred to as an 'otherwordly being'; He was the one to teach people in the sacred ways; and it is said that his students have kept some of his items as holy relics for proof to the newer generations...

Just ask Arinnaya if you wish to learn further details of this piece of fanfic-lore I have made...!!

PS: I wonder where Tallian was born, or spent his childhood. I know he spent half of his life or even more as a student of high arcana in Dalaran, but it does not necessarily mean he was born there. And as he is young, his relatives and friends could still be living (or unliving), providing a basis for interesting encounters.

Shanda
09-09-2006, 02:51 AM
Ah No the Argent dawn was at first made up of the.. well deserters from the scarlet crusade, but they have grown more numerous then what is shown "in game" So that part will not be a problem. But i do not intend to be captured! Tallian has other things in his destiny.. of some I yet has to choose from depending on what happens until we reach plaguelands and beyond.

PS: where he was born Oo I think I wrote that in my background.. well a small farm in Alterac.. not far from Dalaran. And Tallian did actually not spend that much time in Dalaran itself.. as a very young age he was pushed out into the war between the alliance amd the scourge. And during that war he came to understand the wrongness of Dalarans teachings and the wrongness in the alliance.. you can say he found a different path. Tallian is also what the high council in Dalaran or Stormwind would call a wilder, someone that has not studied "full time" in the academies... He has instead learned the hard way, but in the end gotten the high ranks his powers has the right to. tho that is supposed to be onknown by his companions.. so far.

Arinnaya
09-09-2006, 01:48 PM
(to Shanda):

Okey, I am pleased with the plans to reveal more once we reach Chillwind Camp (or some other place on the edge of the Western Plaguelands). But so far, being in Alterac, we need to make up some stories for that as well...

I would suggest spending some brief time battling the ogre clan among the mountains... discovering that even though they are NOT corrupted, they still obey to and serve some darker powers...

(to electro):

Are you planning to re-post your most current piece (which was removed by Shanda)?? If not, it it up to me to continue the story?? It will not be a problem, but please, drop me a line in case my post should follow...

Arinnaya
12-09-2006, 08:25 PM
Finally, I found out a nice idea how to leave Brandor and Nork behind.

We should somehow enter the Valley of Alterac (perhaps after leaving the cave for the ruins of the Alterac Castle). There would we meet a warband of the stout Stormpike Dwarves. But not only them. An unexpected face? a 'fiend' of Nork, once a companion to him, now his sworn enemy, would appéear on the scene as well. Not only would the gnome rogue uncover Nork's notorious lies, but also shed light on some events in the past that left him swearing for vengeance. Now, that his time has come, he would ruin Nork's plans of adventure by warning our travellers about his sneaky aims. So it comes to that we would no longer follown Nork to Northrend.

Brandor, on the other hand, would join the Stormpike Expedion: as joining one of Lordaeron's most famed explorers is more than a like-minded dwarf could ever dream about.

As an interlude, I would suggest that the cavern would lead us somehow to the highlands upon which the long-abandoned Castle of Alterac stands. after minor clashes with the Ogre Lords, we would continue our way in a north-eastern way, entering Alterac Valley on our way... Thereafter comes Strahnbrad, and there is no stopping until Chillwind camp!!

Name: Shawbutte - Shaw to Friends...only his Bear is his Friend (Squirrel)
Race: Dwarf
Age: If sobriety was an age he'd be a few days old at best. No Grey Hair, but a long beard that reaches his knees. (Not sure how Dwarves Age...lol) I'm 28 though.
Class- Drunkard. Hunter
Appearance- Height: If he were to give a light hop his head would collide with a mans chin. He wears at all times a hat, brimmed, black in color and weathering, with a brown leather strap around the base, above the brim, secured by a bronze buckle. (Like a Quaker hat but not as tall.) His Beard flows the length of his body to his knees, secure at every two hands length by twine. His hair reddish orange like fresh vein of copper. His skin pale, yet tanned by what light touches his skin. His nose as red as a tomato at it's ripest. His clothes bear the brunt of his "lavished" style and smells accordingly. But upon deeper observation, his cloak appeared to have been green as fresh grass in early spring, clasped by what once looked like a regal seal of the King of Ironforge. His shoulders, belt, gloves and boots look to be apart of a set of armor forgotten or merely dismissed as legend. These pieces Shaw wears are not well kept, but seemingly at the core, undamaged or scathed by his mistreatment. One believes a good washing and buffing would bring the true beauty of those armaments. His weapons, an Axe of Deepwoods, imbued the the power of the forest, enchanted with the power of flame, and a dagger that few have seen that bears a fiery burn inside it, but enchanted with a the power or a freezing wind. His gun, named Rabbit, was crafted by gnomes, at a time when time was not an issue, and precision was their focus. Shaw has several sacks about him to carry his wares. If you one were, one could assume that he had never a need for anyone or anything...except ale and his Bear...Squirrel.

Squirrel: A Large Bear the size of Shaw. His fur is that of grey and black tree bark, his skin the same consistency, yet his fur is smooth as silk. His teeth reveal his age, yet they seemed unbroken. If not for the soul behind the eyes, one would judge the beast had never seen "real" combat or even lean times, but merely a "plain old bear" that has never left home.

Equipment- Look up!
Back-story-
Long or Short version? LOL

Shawbutte is a son of a prominent commander for the king of Ironforge, who died during the invasion of Orcs in the (Pass between Wetlands and Loch Modan...Dun Baldor?). Several years after his father death, he went to the pass to avenge his fathers Death. Even with the years of training and the courage of ten dwarves, his arrogance lead him to his demise. Seeing a lone dwarf coming to face the horde of orcs, the Orc Chief devised a trap, and quickly caught Shaw. Rather then kill him, the Orc Chief decided to send a message to the dwarves that there clan was here to stay. As quick as they caught Shaw, they shaved him bald, and with a metal icon of their clan, burned his scalp with their mark. Then next thing Shaw remembers is rolling down a hillside...

Years later...

Having lost his commission with the Kings army, and several failed ventures with various groups and organizations, Shaw decided to live for himself. Haunted by his fathers death, and his past, he fled to the snow mountains of his village. His journey would have been safer and quicker had he spend a few hours less at the tavern. He came upon some bandits in his inebriated state. Though he defeated them the toll of ale and battle brought him to his face. Passing out...Shaw felt the end was near. As his vision blurred further...a squirrel came up to him. Shaw gave a smile as the squirrel seemed to grow in size. "Aye got nah nuts fer yu...you big beastie!" As his vision grew dark the "squirrel" blacked out the reaming light of the day.

Shaw woke up in a cave, feeling like he'd been hit in the head by a hammer, and drugged for over 5 miles. A Bear the size of large dwarf was laying near the cave...(more story)

Years later...

Over time Shaw has seen the most beautiful parts of the word, and some of the most horrid. He roams where he pleases. Squirrel follows him wherever Shaw takes him. Sometimes Squirrel seems to have a better sense of direction...

For some unknown reason I seem to scare away every last person that wants to join. So I will try to avoid it this time.

its looks nice.. and we would be happy if you could join. I even have an entrypoint that might fit. in a few posts, when we have escaped the tunnels, we will stumble opon a band of dwarf warriors on their way to Alterac valley. you could be a part of that group.. or travel with them atleast, and opon meeting us deciding that WE have a better adventure to offer. Just a thought though, so feel free to come up with your own suggestions.

Well to make it easy...you could find me passed out/just recovering...or me Feign Death...squirrel running away...Oh, then you go to shoot the Bear and I pop and say no!

Or...Seeing as I work for myself (tired groups tired of them...)maybe I'm pursuing the same people as you guys. So I come along, seeing that we are going after/towards the same area/villian.

Long Story Short...I'm around...I was powerful...I can be again...I just need someone to care about me, help me through my "rough time", and eventually trust me. (I'm loyal to self, but know what true loyalty and service is). I don't steal/rob, I will chide/harrass, I respect the alliance, and hate injustice and will deal with it...for the most part.

hmmm well we will work something out, but if i can make a suggestion.. I think you should read some of the RP thread, or the STF thread and then the last 2-3 pages of posts in the RP, so you know what we are doing atm.

And if you have any questions regarding any rules or anything like that, just ask :)

And of course .. feel free to make an entrypost, but avoid getting close to us in any way, we are deep down inside a tunnelsystem and it would be rather odd if you turned up there. But a post that might make it easier for us to learn abit of your character, and to build a platform from we can later use to infuse you in our adventure.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have read your a few pages of the start and few towards the end.

When I posted there was a cave-in story wise...

I will post a dovetail here...but will avoid interfering with the current story. (Sniper shot to the dude in red, and Squirrel running in, may not be exactly what you want...lol).

Any ideas when you are coming out? Or when someone may "intersect" with you all? I can also wait for a Que. Bear (A Squirrel or Shaw).

Also my grammar seems to take a vacation at times. I use Spelllcheck on most of my posts.

Welcome to our Little Circle!! We warmly welcome you into the group that has certainly seen better days, but the story still runs thanks to three of us.

Basically you can try anything you wish. But if you don't mind starting with a different character, here is a thought: Yes, it is true that we had too many hunters, but I never minded. We had an awful lot of spellcasters as well, and thazt was not a problem either (perhaps we had to do nit-and-run a lot, but we did not mind). What is missing, and was really missing just from the start, was a heawy melee class character. A warrior would fit best, since we have currently a mage, a priest and a hunter. If we can work it out like in the game (though we do not have to stick to it) it would make a wonderful adventuring group. Yet it's all up to you. The only real thing we need is attention and enough time to add posts at least once a week.

Oh, and with the changing of characters that happened in the story, we had lost our original long-term objectives. If you had any in connnection with the Undead, the Plaguelands, or even the Cold North, we would welcome it!

I think we will have a good entry point choice for you. We plan to flee the cave and exit right into the Alterac Valley, where the Stormpike Expedition holds a firm point. There we leave some of our NPCs (players that quittted) behind, but we are ready for newcomers as well...
Perhaps if you would know Brandor the Hunter from somewhwere.. but if you did not, it does not matter. As for the age of your character, you can put in deliberately even a few hundred years, for the dwarves tend to live a lot longer than humans (but by far not as long as the elves, who measure their age in yearthousands).

Ok spent some time on this. Please let me know what you think.

Name: William Theodore Tomilson
Race: Human
Age: 32
Class: Warrior
Description:

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Lao-tzu, The Way of Lao-tzu
Chinese philosopher (604 BC - 531 BC)

"A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything." - Malcolm X

Appearance: Ted is a man’s man and a warriors’ warrior. He is as tall as a short Elf and as wide as a dwarf. His scalp can bee seen by those with the weakest of vision and his face is covered with so much hair that one could assume the hair that once adorned his head must have migrated south, like the sparrows of Stormwind heading to Strangelthorne before winter’s chill. Upon a glance his cloak conceals his body, giving the impression that he may be a monk or a man secluding himself, but with a gust of wind and a keen eye one can see that His armor had been issued to him by the Scarlet Crusade. It looks to have seen many battles and little of an armoursmith. His weapons adorn him in various places; the most notable are the sword on his right side, a dagger on his left side. But with Keen eyes, the owner of said eyes knows that is not all that lies beneath those robes.

For those with less of an ability to see what is not meant to been seen, He looks to be a vagrant concealing himself in a robe to keep warm. The only sign that he may be dangerous is a long hilt that protrudes from under a shield that appears to be wrapped, possibly for delivery.

Weapons: Sheathed and ready to use: a main hand dagger, Off -hand sword, and a 2handed Fiery Axe, imbued with the power of Frost. His shield was crafted by smiths with a strong hatred towards the “evils” of the world, and glows when those with “evil intent” are around. It will upon it’s will, release fire against those that strike or are struck by it.

Cloak: By the looks of the cloak one could surmise it came from an order that studied stealth and subterfuge. Upon closer observation one can see three symbols stitched into it; the seal of Edwin Van Cleef, the Mark of the Syndicate, and a badge of Ravenholdt.

Background: Ted grew up in Dalaran, son of a cheese monger. In his late teens, his Uncle Johnson made final preparations to seek out new riches in a new land. It was in the day of his leaving, while Ted was loading the cart with some of the finest and best aged chesses his family had produced, his father and Uncle had an argument that had never been seen in all his day. It ended with Ted’s Uncle forcefully exiting the stables and Ted’s father riding off into the forest. Ted’s eyes caught his uncle’s eyes and for a moment, he remembered all the time he spent with his uncle learning how to handle weapons, how to subdue an opponent, and how to defend ones self if attacked. He was going to miss him dearly. Ted was sad to see his uncle leave, but knew the aged veteran spent years in the war and could fend for himself. Uncle Johnson gave a heartfelt hug, then as quickly as he released from the embrace, he secured himself on the cart. Ted, at that moment realized his father had left, turned to look in the direction his father rode off to, as he turned back to wave to his uncle, Uncle Johnson had already started the cart down the windy road.
After a few years Ted and his father wonder what happened to his Uncle. With no word from merchants, travelers or adventures, Ted decided to seek out his uncle. Upon arriving in Westfall, Ted was shocked at the state of affairs. Upon entering the local inn, many of the regulars paused at the entrance of such a large man. Eager to have such a guest the inn keeper made every amenity available, for a cost of course. After a few weeks of searching, not realizing that finding his Uncle would be that difficult, the costs of the inn and it’s hospitality took it’s toll on Ted. He was Broke. A few day late he was tossed out of the inn with no place to go. With a few silver he was given for his horse, after the inn received their cut for unpaid use of their space…he headed for the bar near the ocean…the Drunken Murloc…

Ted was told by locals to stay away from that place. They spoke of things not appropriate for those loyal to Stormwind. Knowing his uncle, he never thought to seek answers among those that conduct themselves in such deplorable ways, even after weeks of searching he felt it vain to ask. It was after his sixth drink and some loose discussion that the whereabouts of his uncle had been given to him by a group of miners. As soon as they told the young man about the mines of the Defias and about Miner Johnson a man, dressed in black, stepped from the shadows. The miners shocked by the sudden appearance of the man, fumbled to get to their feet, toppling over one another, pushed, groped and upon successfully placing two feet on the ground, proceed to run to the door, finally making it out of the bar. The man inn black approached Ted. He was offered the answers he seeks if he agreed to work for the man in black for 2 years, severing all times to the world. Desperate to find his uncle and in need of food and a place to sleep he agreed. The man in Black offered him a drink and a handshake. Taking the offered hand in agreement, with one hand and the ale in the other, he sat down. A few minutes later, Ted, seeking to taste the final drop in the mug, leaned back to coax that drop from it’s hiding place and subsequently fell backwards into the table behind him and into darkness…. (More to come!)

If you ask me, which I guess you do :) Ted is a more fitting char for our story. So if you used him I would be even more happy! (but its still your choice, im not some tyrannic DM/mod that thinks he can decide and shape everything after his own wants and needs!)

Though, even if your background is thrilling etc, and so on, and so forth. its still a background, dont make it into a novel. (se the text above inside the same marks as this)

maybe I should make a thread for those that like to write stories hmm

Lol, Sorry. That's just what made it into the post. (I had a few more pages and I have a book in my head.)

So...I will wait for a queue from you...Dark mysterious bald hairy guy...

OBTW He is not affiliated with anyone, but had been. wink, wink, nod, nod, know what I mean? wink, wink

Background: Taught by his Uncle who was a veteran fighter for SW in proper combat (combat), Learned brawling from Defias (zerker), Stealth and subtrefuge (daggers, unarmed) syndicate/ravenholdt, and Skirmishing/Raiding from SM. Well versed in all weapons and improvised weapons (as I have seen too many Jackie Chan movies!)

I liked your story.. really!!!

You are certainly welcome to tell more in the storyline. I enjoyed telling stories myself as well, and will even more enjoy if others' characters are to be more talkative as well.

As for the story, I suggest the following: we have 2 choices (It's up to the DM's choice which way to go):

We make too much noise and the goblins notice something, sending a patrol on our way. Prapare to fight !!! Or to flee, if you have a better plan!

We make it successfully backwards to the path where Brandor and the others climbed up. If you search through the dead orc's remains, maybe something interesting could be found (undecided yet, in details), dating from the age of Doomhammer. From there, we should continue our way where we went before, just to stumbel into other elements of the goblins' complex...(I have not made up any details yet..) Maybe the undead boss could have a private resort there...

And for Wasabee: Even though your character is not to appear yet, you may already post ideas, sketches and concepts, how we should get out of the cave, and most importantly, where to !!!

What if you guys head back the way you came. As you do you see a group of gobbos talking about looking for "Laroky" (Dead Orc) and the key to the masters room. "Master is very upset he hasn't gotten his wine today. Stupid Laroky....stupid, stupid Orc...last time he disappeared we found him drunk as a fat dwarf after a battle, or is that before, stupid dwarves I guess are always drunk...All this for what, the masters dead...well not dead but undead, same as dead, but...oh what ever...not like he can taste it...but that's not the point, what the master wants, master gets...stupid Orcs, dwarves and wine. Key, where is the key! Why he is one of 3 to have the key...stupid Orc..."

The patrol caught up in their disccusion and anger fail to notice the adventures and the larger on trips over the dead orc (Laroky).

"Stupid Orc, I swear drunk again. Last time master whooped him good! Oh boy I love it when he gets it! Stupid Orc, he broke my leg a few weeks back, well no he is going to get it!"

The large goblin reaches down to wake the Orc...more like kicks him in the head. After several kicks...

"Oye, he's dead...Rocks and the likes must have gotten him. Look around mates and see if you can find the key"

Or something like that...

3 Goblins, 1 larger then the other

Hmm.. Sounds good!!!

The only minor problem is that to have someone turn into a skeleton takes years, and takes even further decades for the skeleton to be grown over with limestone.... I supposed the skeleton is there about two or three decades ago - it died there when the old Horde was just about launching its first attacks against Lordaeron.

Otherwise, your story plots are great... I would gladly continue the story, but have to wait for Shanda and Electro... We are not used to write long monologues...

Wasabee

Umm...no skeleton. Dead Orc. He's Dead... He was the cupbear for the Undead guy.

{Scratches Head} Maybe I missed or misread the part where there was a cave in and the orc died.

No monlogues! Got it!

{No monologues, this reminds of a time when I was in Japan. Well I've never been to Japan, more like I remember details about others going to Japan and kind of incorporated them into an experience that I never had. It was Thursday and Mr. Schwatrz was sitting down to a cup of tea:

Mr. Schwart "Hello Wasabee"
Wasabee "Hello Mr. Schwartz, how are you papayas."
Mr. Schwartz: "Oh rather well, how are your nuts doing?"
Wasabee: " A little low and to the left. The neighbors are starting to complain"
Mr. Schwartz: " Ah, I see the problem. That could be a rahter uncomfortable postion to be in, let alone your nuts dangling in a precarious position. How do play to fix this problem?"
Wasabee: "Well if you wouldn't mind taking a look..."
<Mr. Schwartz looks at Wasabees nuts>
Wasabee: "see the sack keep them safe...I figure I could get a string and tie it around the sack and pull and tie it to the other side."
Mr. Schwartz: "What a novel idea! I still not sure what the sack is for..."
Wasabee: "With out the sack those nuts would be all over the place. Besides, I don't my nuts going to the neighbors."
Mr. Schwartz: "Yes, I see. Well looks like we are out of hot water, I will fetch us some more."

I was happy that my peanut tree was safe!

KABOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!

great, thick clouds fill the air as a sillouette is cast uon them of a giant creature, as it steps foreward, the shadow gets smaller and smaller, till out of the mist, steps Nork, the little Gnome Critter ^^.

Hay peeps, good to see yall again, sorry for the unexplained absence, but it wouldnt be an unexplained absence if i told you where i had been over the last couple months ^^. So any way, not read the Rp thred yet, looking foreward to seeing how Nork was abandoned from the adventurers and thinking of a real cool way he can come back.

Was thinking summink along the lines of coming back just in the nik of time as all hope is lost, you know, that typical manga style thing, were the hopless character that dissapears all of a sudden comes in and saves a hopless battle ad turns the tide into a rather hopeful victory ^^.

Guess ill have a tonne of explaining to do with the fact that i used you guys to get to Northrend, but Nork is a changed man, more a mage that can summon little demons now.

Hello all, new to the whole forum! Originally came on to start posting my fan fic to somewhere outside my guild site, but this all looks like too much fun  I'm still reading through the story, trying to sort through the storyline and the characters...so I thought whilst I'm doing that I'd post the character sheet -

Name: Izmae
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Race: Human
Class: Paladin

Equipment: Typical Paladin - plate Nothing particularly notable about it. Skilled in most weapons, except for any kind of ranged ones (Basic engineering takes care of that problem) In this I plan to have her carry a 2 handed sword with a blue glow (icy chill enchant).

Appearance: Dark hair tied up, dark green eyes, various face piercings, fairly small in stature.

Affiliation: Devoted to the Light, currently banished from the Church for the suspected murder of Duthorian Rall (this is part of my story, if it conflicts with anything just shout and I can change it for this thread)

Backstory: Her parents were both accomplished priests of Stormwind Cathedral, her mother was away as a child to fight with the Alliance armies in various conflicts. Her father is the typical shadow priest gone power crazy, after growing up in the orphanage and later the Cathedral she discovers him in league with Scourge acolytes, Sylvanas and the forsaken (you name it he's done it kinda guy).

Since then she's always had an extremely acute sense of shadow magic and the undead for reasons explained soon in my story, but needless to say there's a little darkness in her. Not surprisingly this has not only made her completely devoted to the Light (even after being banished from the Church) but given her an extreme dislike and distrust of those wielding anything to do with shadow, and makes her a hard person to get to know.

She's recently returned from a battle in the Plaguelands fighting against Blightcaller with her newfound guild Night Sentinels, which also means she's just found her mother again. There's a lot more to find out but the mystery's all part of her.

If the death of Duthorian or Blightcaller conflicts with anything you were planning I can of course change it.

p.s. She's not an evil character by the way, killing Duthorian was a mercy killing, the "darkness" in her just means she's got a lot of internal conflict not that she's a little psychopath

Oh and one thing I forgot, in addition to the heightened senses towards shadow she often has disturbing dreams, mainly of spirits that died in the Scourge war.

Hello Izmae, and welcome to the dusty old part of this forum called Roleplaying.
Not much to say, your in.. the threads been on ice for some time now, but maybe we should try to get it started again. But firstly..how would you like to enter? and I suggest that you read back abit on whats been going on, not from the beginning of course (if you arent the type who would do so), but some pages atleast. Then post here your suggestions and we can work something out.
Because we really need to remove the spiderweb and dust from this story..

Izmae
31-12-2006, 03:57 PM
hmm hmm... ok firstly where were you planning to exit the cave? I was planning for Iz to have recently visited Dalaran searching for information on the Twisting Nether, the Dark Portal, Draenor etc, she senses a powerful force of shadow is coming, but knows little more than that (As the Burning Crusade's out soon  ).

The mages of Dalaran were of little use, most of them too busy with the rebuilding of the city to pay much attention, but she was told that in the ruins of Alterac, up in the mountains there were older tomes that might prove more useful. So that's where she could be...dodging fat and smelly ogres to try to get her hands on some old books that could tell her more about the portal and what it would mean if it were opened.

That means we could either cross paths once you're out of the cave, and come across some nasty ogres picking on me, or Iz could sense either Arinnaya's holy power or Nork's shadow power (her senses being stronger than is normally experienced) and we could meet that way, meaning you could pick a different location to meet up.

How does that sound?

Shanda
01-01-2007, 06:50 AM
Well sounds good exept for a few facts. Our story is abit different from the real wow-story.. For some reason Dalaran was never destroyed, or if it was they have rebuilt it very very fast. The burning crusade aint comming. But Arthas has done his work. It might be abit hard to understand if you havent read most of the thread. But a tip is to not get cought up with the game.

But anyway.. well I dont know, if you make your start post I will exit the caves with the party on my next post. And we will have to see if Ari and/or Nork gets back, else we will be kinda alone.

But we will be in a very harsh condition when we exit the cavesm so if your in trouble we will all get in trouble  . But thats up to you. Post a starting one and we´l talk about it after.

And again, try to forget about the game, quests, events etc. Make something up as thats what we have been doing until now.

Izmae
01-01-2007, 03:37 PM
ok! thats better in a way, i hate having to get all the details right (being the world's biggest perfectionist  ) and that does make sense now...i did wonder why you were going to Dalaran before if it was still a giant purple bubble heh.

Izmae
01-01-2007, 05:31 PM
In which case I'll change a few things on my character sheet, so it's not based on my other character

Name: Izmae
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Race: Human
Class: Paladin

Equipment: Typical Paladin - plate  Silver lined with blue, wears no helm, but carries one on her mount.
Skilled in most weapons, except for any kind of ranged ones (fairly skilled engineering takes care of that one) Most favoured: 2 handed sword.

Appearance: Quite small in stature, very dark brown hair tied back, dark green eyes, skin slightly tanned.

Affiliation: Devoted to the Light, and so fights for the Alliance whilst the church fights under its banner. Has a strong dislike of shadow magic, in any form.

Backstory: Originally from Stratholme, when the Scourge flooded through the land she fled with her two brothers to Dalaran; the rest of her family were never found. One brother stayed to train as a mage, it was even said she had the talents for spellcasting, curiously strong senses of shadow and holy energies. She vowed to herself she would have nothing to do with shadow magic, that which had fuelled the slaughter of her home.

So she was sent to the Cathedral of Stormwind to train as a Paladin, in the hopes that the discipline of the Light would give her the peace she needed. In a sense it has, it gives her a focus and a devotion to all the Light stands for. In another sense it has not; through training her senses have become stronger, and she often has dreams of those spirits who died in the War. It seems that she will only truely find peace when all corruption is clensed from the lands, and she has travelled across almost every inch of them to try and achieve this.

Well I did skip a few points to be honest, but I would say I read almost all of it anyhow.
Now, as for my character, I'd assume the huntress character you had earlier Isn't going to start posting again any time soon, otherwise my character might now bring much of anything to the story. I'll put the sheet on a separate post so its easier too look at:

Name: Cailea Evergreen
Race: Night Elf
Gender: Female
Age: Living mostly in the wilds, she doesn't have an exact value, but was born approximately 27 years ago
Class: Druid
Appearance:As she is still a bit young for en elf, she is a bit shorter than the older members of her race. Her skin is pale blue with a minor pink shade on it and her forest-green hair is just long enough to reach her shoulders. She appears nimble and agile, rather than downright muscular or intelligent and always seems to have a dark shadow with her. Sometimes visibly, other times just mentally.
Equipment:
She wears a light and, in her opinion, most comfortable leather vest that doesn't really offer much protection, as it is barely large enough to cover her upper chest. She also wears what could be called leather shorts, as she finds them most convenient as well. She always has a ragged-looking grey cloak with her and wields a short staff, so simple its often mistaken as just some random stick from the forest.
Backstory:Cailea was born in the night elf town of auberdine, close to the capital, Darnassus. when she was still young, 4 or 5 years old, something happened in her hometown. From all she can remember, a band of satyrs from felwood with some undead companions attacked the ever so quiet town. Although the attack was small and should have been easily stopped by the town guards, the satyrs somehow got through and started attacking civilians.
At some point, Cailea and her parents were trapped in their house as three skeletons smashed in through the door. The skeletons killed Cailea's parents in front of her, but before they could get to her, a mysterious young man, not sure if he was an elf or someone else, came in through a window and rescued her, tanking her onto a refugee boat that was about to depart for darnassus. The mysterious savior himself however, did not come along, but instead, vanished into the night.

The next thing she can remember is sitting alone at the gates of the great elven city, alone, for hours, maybe days, until finally, some old druid who was just passing through, decided to help her and took her to his cottage, located in the darkest parts of ashenvale forest. There, Cailea's potential as a druid was revealed and the old druid taught her for fifteen years in the ways of the druids. She was particularly skilled at the transformation magics of the druids: while most druids only learned one or two different forms, she mastered three or four of them. However, she never really learnt to harness the destructive powers of nature, such as storm and lightning.

After her training, for the past ten or so years, she has travelled around the lands of kalimdor, carrying within a searing hatred for all things suggesting undeath, corruption, or demonic aspects (even more so than most druids, thanks to the faint images she can remember of her childhood nightmare), she has cleansed some minor corruptions here and there. Also, as a secret desire, she hopes to someday find the mystery man she owes her life. Some weeks ago, however, she found a particularly defiled tree and after some inspecting, it would seem that to cleanse this particular tree, she needs to aquire a rare herb, known to only grow in...Lordaeron...

Hey there! sounds like a good character, and well done on reading it all! You know where we are at the moment so you could either join straight away as we're in the forest..maybe hitch a ride back to Dalaran in the portal, or if you prefer you can join us later - up to you! :)

and don't worry about it Shanda - believe me I know the feeling! (coursework, exams, uni applications etc etc :p)

Kinda hard, as I still don't really have your opinon on how and when I should be entering the story. While a forest is an excellent entry setup for me, an upcoming fight & flight (if it occurs, that is) doesn't seem like a situation too beneficial for someone to step in at.

Perhaps I could fill my time filling out some gaps I noticed on my character sheet after later inspection :P
Or if you want, I can join and fix things in-character.

(OOC)(After sitting around for barely fifteen minutes, struggling to keep my brains in my head(as they are bursting out for the sheer amount of text and ideas I have for this character), I decided to follow your advice and post my entry here "for ya bosses to look at". What reads below this assumes that I'm entering before the portal is ready(if it does get ready, how should I know?) Keeping it brief for now, to have plenty of room for you to adjust(/OOC))

Cailea Evergreen /
Cailea could still feel the taste of blood in her mouth. She sniffed the air and took a careful peek out of the bush where she was hiding in.
Seems like that wolf stopped chasing me, she thought to herself, although she knew it wasn't really strange at all after she had bitten off a good chunk of the beast's flank. She carefully snuk out of the bush, as her furry paws made barely any noise when they hit the ground, one at a time.
She took a look around with her yellow cat eyes to see where she had ended up after being chased by the starving wolf only minutes earlier. She spotted a small pond just to her left and walked to it to take a drink of the fresh water.
As the water flushed the taste of wolfblood from her mouth and she saw her image reflected from the rippling water, she suddendly caught an odd scent in the air. After thinking it for a moment, she came to the conclusion that there were horses nearby. But the forest here wasn't a natural place for wild horses, so it must be riders. Out of curiosity, as well as to secure her position, she decided to follow the scent, where ever it might lead her for now.

After posting that previous I was so excited about it I missed a few points and I think I might have you a bit confused. Allow me to modify and repost it so you can get a better idea of my intentions. And sorry for triple post. :D

Cailea Evergreen/
A few moments later she tracked down the smell to a small campfire, with two people by it. As she observed them from the shadows, her accurate senses caught a sound, as if someone was coming.
Then she saw a young woman, dressed in heavy armor sneak towards the camp. The sneaker swiftly disposed of the other person by the campfire, then began to threaten the other one.
Cailea could hear what they said, but it didn't seem to make any sense to her. Then a short silence occured, as the woman focused her attention on some sort of book. Shortly after that she killed the other camper as well. Cailea, still wondering what was going on, followed the woman for a while as she rode on a horse that had seemed to come out of nowhere.
Then all of a sudden, the warrior stopped with no visible reason and just stood there. But Cailea could tell from her face that her mind was heavily utilised, almost as if she was somehow communicating to somebody. Then troubled look on her face suddendly disappeared, but she still just stood there.
Cailea decided it was time to get some answers, but before she could get close enough to reveal herself, a flash of light, surrounded by arcane runes appeared in front of the rider. It vanished a few seconds later, leaving behind a man dressed in black.
She quickly pulled back into the shadow, now that she was outnumbered in case the two mysterious people would prove to be hostile.
The two said something to each other...they spoke of incoming enemies! Having little desire to be left in the middle of a battle that she knew nothing about, she began to sneak away.
Then the woman started laying down some sort of discs around the mage-type, attracting the young druid's attention. To her horror, she realized that while looking the other way, she had attempted to step on nothing with one of her paws, causing her to slip out of balance. She rolled down the small hill and ended up right in front of the two, who were obviously alerted by her sudden arrival. Since there was no point to run or hide anymore, she did the only thing she could think of: she reverted her transformation. A green glow surrounded her for a few seconds, and beneath it, her body morphed back to its humanoid form. Then she looked straight at the two mysterious people and said:
"I'm not your enemy"

Like I said in an earlier post, I missed a few points of my original plan when I made my character sheet and now I've decided to put them in there. I'll repost the modified part of the sheet here and have the modified/added points in italic so you don't have to play spot-the-difference with it.

Name: Cailea Evergreen
Race: Night Elf
Gender: Female
Age: Living mostly in the wilds, she doesn't have an exact value, but was born approximately 27 years ago
Class: Druid
Appearance:
As she is still a bit young for en elf, she is a bit shorter than the older members of her race. Her skin color is abit of an odditive: in the dark it looks pale blue, but in brighter light it would seem to be more like pink. Her forest-green hair is just long enough to reach her shoulders. She appears nimble and agile, rather than downright muscular or intelligent and always seems to have a dark shadow with her. Sometimes visibly, other times just mentally. Her general look is very natural, as she has no piercings or tattoos of any kind and her hair looks very natural too, but its still clean and soft.
Equipment:
She wears a light and, in her opinion, most comfortable brown leather vest that doesn't really offer much protection, as it is barely large enough to cover her chest and leaves her arms and stomach bare. She also wears what could be called leather shorts(tight brown ones, not some loose hulk-style rags), as she finds them most convenient as well. She always has a ragged-looking grey cloak with her and wields a short staff, so simple its often mistaken as just some random stick from the forest. She also wears some sort of patterned leather bracers on her wrists and ankles, but never has any sort of gloves and always goes barefoot.

Rowen's details, as he's in the story a bit more now...

Name: Rowen
Gender: Male
Age: 31
Race: Human
Class: Mage

Equipment: Recently aquired deep blue robes, with the insignia of the Highmage on the right shoulder. Main weapons; a thin, strong longstaff with dark green crystal set in the top, a wand which appears to be made of ice, the design delicately spiraling to its tip.

Appearance: Tanned skin, tall and fairly skinny in stature. Short & dark hair, bright green eyes to match his sister's.

Affiliation: Having lived in Dalaran all his life, and his recent promotion to Highmage the mage city is all he's known. Ultimately he will side with his sister, and trusts the Church of the Light almost as much as she does.

Backstory: Originally from Stratholme, when the Scourge flooded through the land he fled with his brother and sister; the rest of their family were never found. On the outskirts of the city his sister Izmae died from her wounds, or so they had thought. Two days later she found them close to Dalaran, confused but very much alive. Whilst his sister was sent to the Church in Stormwind to train as a paladin, he stayed in Dalaran to train as a mage, and progressed fairly well. After years spent studying intensively in the city his grasp of ice magic is particularly strong, followed by his skills in arcane, but finally fire he has never found a strong affinity for.

Together with his sister he has been assisting the Church in a campaign against the Scarlet Crusade, and until his recent murder his brother Markus told them of all the information he gathered in his inn. Recent events have started to form cracks in his high opinion of the mage city and the almighty Council, and with only one member of his family still alive his allegiance's are beginning to change.

Shanda, if your mod tools allow it you might wanna fix my last post up a bit. Sorry for the bad format but I typed it in notepad first and was in a bit of a hurry so I didn't have time to properly correct it.

Hello again, good people of Azeroth!

Hail to Shanda and the others, who have managed to keep this RP thread alive!! I did not hope for anything as it died down for about a month at least, and so I left. But apparently you have managed to keep it running (which is a minor miracle by itself), I am considering to return. Once a suitable re-entry point will appear for me, I will be into it: and write replies on a regular basis (approx 1/day, as I used to do.) Until that point, I will be reading the dozens of posts to get as a correct image of the story, as I can.

Have fun, until then, and bye for now!!

Welcome back then...I suppose. Anyways, I'll post some info about my 'second character' to keep ya fellas up to date.

Name: Valen Moonscar
Race: Night Elf
Gender: Male
Class: Rogue
Appearance: He is tall like most of his race(compared to humans), about a head's lenght taller than Cailea. His skin is pale blue and does not have the pink shade like Cailea's. His hair is dark blue and long, usually hidden under his black hood, but tied onto a ponytail at times.
Equipment: He wears a full-body suit of black leather, topped off by a black hood that covers most of his head and casts a shadow on his face. He also has two curved blades hanging from his belt on the sides. One of the blades looks damaged from intensive usage, but he doesn't seem to notice this.
Backstory:<you'll just have to wait a bit longer for this ;P >

Hey. I was reading some of this RPG, and it sounds cool. In fact, it's what made me register. So, if you guys wouldn't mind, I liked to join. If you feel that you are too far along for a new player, then that's fine, too. I'll wait for the next good RPG.

However, in the event that you do let me get in on this, I'll post a character just in case.

I've also read the SSF thread, and briefly skimmed both this one and the actual RP thread. I can probably read the whole thing in it's entirety over the next few days, too.

So, here's my character sheet. Let me know if you guys can work me in.

Name: Vash Tranget

Race: Human

Age- 24

Class- Rogue.

Appearance- Vash Tranget is a tall man, stout of stature, with a build that would perhaps better suit a warrior than a stalking, silent rogue. He's got a frighteningly scarred face (more on that later  ). His head is gleamingly bald, and his eyes are such an intense light blue that many would argue they are white. He sports a long, braided beard that dangles down to about his solar plexus.

Equipment- Vash wears a matching tunic and breeches made of leather that has been blackened. An equally dark belt is around his waste, with numerous pouches strapped to it, filled with throwing blades, jagged daggers and potent poisons, as well as numerous other things you'd expect an expert assassin to have. Apart from his daggers and throwing knives, Vash's two main weapons are his scimitars, both of which are sheathed in scabbards on his back. For the sake of being inconspicuous, Vash drapes a cloak of black or green (or another colour. Mostly, it depends on what sort of surroundings he think's he'll need to blend into, but black or green are the norm.)

Backstory- Vash was part of an elite, highly secretive group of rogues who specialize in keeping the balance between good and evil. Whether it's slaying a corrupt, felcasting warlock, or vanquishing an overly pious Paladin, Vash and the other dozen rogues in the society believe that if the Balance is tipped in favour of anyone, be they the Burning Legion or the Kingdom of Stormwind itself, it is counter-productive and must be equalized.

However, Vash was recently cast out of the group for failing to slay ( I'd like this to be some main evil in the story. I don't know if the Gnome Warlock I read about earlier is still in play or what, but possibly him). As the law of the secretive guild dictates (OOC: I REALLY need a name for them) Vash's face was mangled, his limbs broken, and he was thrown from the guild. ( like, 3 weeks before where the story is now, if that will work?) Managing to retrieve only the equipment described above, Vash wanders aimlessly, his now nihlistic view of life eating away at his conscience.

Good??

zoobster rode into storm wind with a great speed as his well apointed body guards followed closely behind him, the trio rode to the closest tavern and dismounted. Zoobster looked like a gnome compared to his body guards but in fact he was 6 feet tall and was build stronger than some orcs. Zoobster lifed his helmet off and kicked the taver door aside as he walked in. He looked around trying to decifer what mercs here would be worthy of the coin he would pay to have them join his new crusade. Zoobster wispered to his right had man "find as many able mercs as we are able to get from this futile settlement then bring them back to our camp out side setinel hill."

Great. Yeah, I wasn't entirely sure about the gnome; I mainly just picked that up by skimming. Perhaps after I read a little more of the main RP thread I'll be able to decide who the failed target was. Or, if we're in need of a villain, then maybe it could be the guy my character was supposed to kill. Either way, I'm going to read a bit more of the story before my first post.

I'll try not to keep you waiting too long =]

Icefrost
04-04-2007, 10:42 PM
Seeing as how Valen(my rogue, if you already read about him) also has a designated target and apparently there is some shady fellow following us from Dalaran now, it might take a bit of doing to not to create a long chain of "i'm gonna get that guy" -stuff, if you know what I mean. But since we already have two mages, I suppose it makes sense to have two rogues as well.

And a bit of a warning to the rest of you: right now it seems that what I might call a turning point in my story is most likely going to happen before we reach our destination, so I hope you aren't going to fast-forward too much of the journey, and unless you have already figured out what I'm up to, be prepared for a bit of a delay...

moshnerd
05-04-2007, 03:22 AM
Ha ha. Sorry Icefrost! I've just completed reading the main RP, and I noticed how frightfully similar our characters are. That wasn't intended!

I have no objections to making a new character. Honestly. I'll hold off on the first post for a bit, and see if there's a way to make Vash at least a BIT more different than Valen (omg, the "v" names, too. I just noticed that! Ha ha! Dear God I'm a plagarist.)

So yeah, after reading the whole RP, I'd say a new character is in order.
I'll stretch my brain a bit over the long weekend, and see what i can do about my character.

Icefrost

Just wondering...how long were you guys going to have the walking to take? I mean, it can last quite a while as far as I'm concerned, but some sort of an estimate could be nice.

Blended pain: the characters currently in use is Tallian/Izmae/Cailea/Rowen and Valen. If we are lucky Mosh will make a nice char and join in soon.
At the moment no NPC´s are involved. And as for the world wow-storyline wise. See it as some alternate universe. The Arthas wars has come and went, and so has the fight with the legion and here Dalaran has been rebuilt and is opened not shielded.

Well, for as many RP's I've played, and there have not been too many and not been too long, whenever we journey to some distant place, we usually strike up a conversation: maybe about the current situation, some party members we've lost or even have discussions about our past. Sometimes it's even a good idea to have character disputes within the group during this time, when you're not allied against a common cause you may start not liking some members of the party. (though this only works in groups with more members)

As I said I really want to join this RP. Is it possible? Could you find some story plot that moght include me in? I was hoping to make a High Elven Warrior/Rider (also a minor nobleman) who was on a mission when Quel'thalas fell and has been hiding/ living in the woods for some time. Eventually when the Blood Elves find him and take relative control of Quel'thalas back, though plagued by the bouts of hunger for magic himself, he finds himself disgusted by their "solution" and fall to demonic magic. But finding allies with Humans and Dwarves hasn't been easy either due to the betrayel of the 'Blood-Elves'.
See if he fits in your group, I really have longed to play a High Elf.

Izmae
12-04-2007, 11:56 AM
sounds like it should be ok hun, well since we're heading up to the plaguelands it might be possible for us to meet up there? Have a think about possible situations (we're heading to Tyr's Hand, you could consider Light Hope's Chapel as that's neutral to both Alliance and Horde factions. With the undead wars gone the Argent Dawn wouldn't be as prominent as in the game but it would still exist I imagine, I don't think there has been any mention to say otherwise) and wait for Shanda to give you the go ahead before you write anything, but a High Elf eh? Should be an interesting addition

Icefrost: just a thought, it might be useful at the moment if Izmae does end up going away to Southshore briefly, it would mean that Valen's demon might have the opportunity to gain free will for a time, and she's close enough by horse that she could still sense something and start back.

Icefrost
12-04-2007, 05:02 PM
I must admit I didn't really think of it from that angle, but yeah, that does sound quite good. I'm not sure if it's a good time for a complete revelation yet though...

Izmae
12-04-2007, 07:18 PM
well, doesnt have to be if you dont want it to - as i said it wouldnt be that far and as Izmae's senses are particularly strong then even with the distance the demon might not have quite enough strength to take control. but in any case just thought it might give you an idea for any bits for Valen that you write ^^

Icefrost
12-04-2007, 07:32 PM
Ah, you must have misunderstood it a bit. You see, the demon could in fact take control virtually any minute now, but then it would have to expose itself. Obviously, trying something when there are four possible hostiles nearby isn't very smart, so its hiding because it wants to, rather than being forced to.

Blended Pain

Was just going through the Character sheets etc. and just saw there are two night elves here. O_o Well, I guess this RPs not for me, I think most of you guys have only played WoW and not the previous warcrafts.
My poor High-Elf will have to wait for another day, another place. :(

Icefrost
12-04-2007, 08:41 PM
I'm the said elf player and I've actually played warcraft 2 and 3 aswell, so I daresay I know what I'm talking about.
Anyhow, tucking in one more elf might not be such a bad idea after all, if only his personality differs from the other characters somehow. And we do have three humans already, it's not like that's so much of a different case, eh? Although having another "lone wanderer" or "vengeance seeker" -style character might not do the trick here, but something else could work.
But in the end its up to you, so take your pick and no hard feelings.

Shanda
13-04-2007, 01:52 PM
Actually, it is an "open-RP" so just post your character here. I will look over it and see if its okey. You should never make a character and try to fit it in with the rest, except for me everyone whos writing actively now is new to the thread. So be who you want to be. Aslong as you write good posts I have nothing against you joining as a high elf. (And for the story-record, Quel´Thalas is still a ruined city).

And Ice, if that demon pops up in the sigh of everyone he will be very very short lived. So if you do intend to make that happen, then do so when we arent all togheter. (a tip :P)

Icefrost
13-04-2007, 03:47 PM
Don't worry about that Shanda, I have quite a few different tricks planned for when that happens. To give you a tip in return, I can tell you that I don't have any other "villains" lined up, so this one is hopefully gonna last at least a while longer.

Anyhow, I have yet to actually state how powerful our hidden friend really is, so its still a bit flexible on that end.

Blended Pain
13-04-2007, 10:13 PM
It's just a bit hard for me to swallow that Night Elves are in the Eastern Kingdoms...(yeah I know, they came in War3x as well but then it was far too important a mission) A rogue maybe, but a druid in the eastern kingdoms on no proper mission is hard to believe. I haven't got anything against you guys, I just hate how WoW made terrible changes in the storyline just to allow gameplay elements.
Oh and my character is not a loner/vengeance seeker, far from it. He was on a diplomatic mission to Stromgarde when Arthas destroyed Quel'Thalas and he just can't take the idea of being a Blood Elf, so he's forced to stay alone. I was thinking he is searching for other Elves who refuse to be corrupted by their hunger. I believe you used to have a High Elf ranger in your group previously, perhaps he heard rumours about her and tried to track down your party.
I really feel like playing a text based RPG but in these things story and characters are the core, if I can't wrap my head around as to what a Night Elf Druid is doing here, its gonna be really hard for me to join.
BTW where in Azeroth (world) are you exactly?

EDIT: Not being able to fit in the group is precisely the reason why I might not join. Imagine meeting your estranged kind seven thousand years later, who banished you from their kingdom, after you have lost everything; your cities, your kind corrupted, everything. I think he might go crazy (the bad way) if sees a Night Elf.

Icefrost

Well you can probably tell by now that we haven't been all that fanatic lore-followers in this story. As for Cailea's presence, finding that herb for previously mentioned reasons seems like a good enough reason to cross the sea at least once in her life. Obviously, by now she has much more of a reason to stay around, as opposed to the easy pick-up mission that she came for.

As for the elves' racial differences, I understand you fully and I can see my characters having a bit of a hate for your high elf as well, if you decide to join, that is. But many things that seem like a plain impossible situation might turn out to be rather interesting.

So that's what we're called nowdays? I thought we were the best warcraft fans.

Oh btw I have barely played WoW, so I'm at a major disadvantage lore wise, help me out with locations language etc.

Your post intrigues me, do I dare to challenge myself by being in the same party as a Night Elf? I believe I do. Expect a Character sheet soon!
For now I must continue reading the previous story as the STF isn't updated, I started from the begining (currently on page 8) and man, what a party! Gnomes, Night Elves, Blood Elves and hell even a Nerubian!

Anywho please let me know which town in which kingdom you started from and where are you now.

EDIT: Just read the part where the night elf greets the blood elf,(page 8) I guess I'm the only one seeing the issue here...

Well the current characters are as follows; Tallian (Shanda), Cailea & Valen (Icefrost), Izmae and Rowen (me!) so out of all the originals its only Tallian that's actually still there!

..and you sound creative enough to think of a reason to join us I'm sure

As far as any lore/map/language questions go try Wowwiki - its a lore site on the world of warcraft rather than just the warcraft series. Not ALL of the things are true to our story, for example Dalaran has been rebuilt, the Arthas wars have been and gone and the Dark Portal hasn't been opened, but other than that it's quite useful.

eg. Alterac Mountains - http://www.wowwiki.com/Alterac_Mountains

Hope this helps!

BTW which areas in the continent of Lordearon are in who's control?
(you can tell me referencing to the wow maps if you want.)

well firstly look to the ingame map :) but count quel´thalas as undead (scourge). Dalaran is reopened, and the forsaken in Tarren Mill is slowly being pushed away, besides that theres not really much to say in the matter.

Oh, so Quel'Thalas hasn't been reclaimed by the blood elves?it.
(will have to rethink my char's history a bit)

Also please answer my question on your location...could you in short describe where you are and where you've travelled from?
(the last I know you all were in some cave and now are waiting outside southshore?)

Read the posts in the thread mate. jumping around wont give you much information. But we are currently a few hours from Southshore on the road between SS and Hillsbrad

Hey guys, sorry I've been so inactive - I'm swamped with work and exams at the moment. Feel free to post without me, take Izmae anywhere I don't mind ^^

I'll post as soon as I can, but don't let me hold you up!

So I guess it's up to me to set up the camp then, huh? Just tell me one thing. Is Rowen going to go with his sister or stay outside? Other than that I think I can write it.

Since I seem to be the only other currently active player here, I'll just tell you that I don't mind that at all. A double post is all good in a place where its really needed to progress the story. After all, I did that myself once already, remember?

Okey for reasons I will explain below I have deleted this post in the "RP" thread. But as I am not evil I copied it here :)

((A little late, I know, sorry!!)

((Name:Tragena Silverwing
Race: Night Elf / Dragon
Age- 25 In human
Class- Hunter
Appearance- She's got scars, shes muscled, always has a bow on her back, along with a sword with a dark aura around it. An eyepath over her left eye, and she is usually seen in a white shirt with white pants, and buccaners boots.
Equipment- Real battle armor, which is rarely seen on her, is almost the entire Beaststalkers set, save for the belt, boots, and shoulder pads.
Backstory- Be warned, this is very very long.

She was born, and taken away, and raised as a Sentinal, she was 'retired' from being a sentinal not too long ago. While she was a sentinal, the village she lived in, was raided by horde. Her, and a few other sentinals like herself had been sent out to investigate a few horde towns. They were gone for a good 6 to 7 months before they finally came home. Gena (Tragena) had a husband, and a child. A little girl, who would be about 5 or 6 at the time. For a good 4 or 5 months while they were gone, investigateing, she had everyday sent out letters. Untill one day, she never got a reply to any of her letters. She paid no mind to it, thinking it had just gotten lost on its way.. the day they came home, they came home to their village burnt to the ground, and all of their homes were destroyed. Naturally, she ran straight to her own home. She wen't straight to her daughters room, and saw her husband, and child, both dead. Their bodies had already started to rot, and Gena wouldn't leave their side, for what felt like forever, until another sentinal came up, and told Gena their were still some of the horde there. Gena got up, and wen't on a rampage killing every horde in her path. After they were all slaughterd, she ran back to her home. After a moment, of stareing, she finally carried them, and burried them where she had, had her child. Anyways, after about ten years, of training, and such, she stayed a sentinal. Now, when she was born, her real mother gave her a pendant. She doesn't remember anything about her real parents, only that she got the pendant from her real mother.About 10 years later, Gena found out she had a power, she could use with the pendant. She could ressurect the dead, but not without receiveing hidious wounds, and fatal ones at that. She she always has to have someoen who can heal her afterwards. She ressurected her daughter, and nearly died. But her friend, saved her. Not long after she was ressurected, after seeing her daughter, she met Tarron. A demon warrior. Who's true form only comes out in Outlands. She fell inlove, and had another daughter with him. Shanre. Shanre is like her father, except with elf ears, and height. (Tarron's a human). Not far too long after she had Shanre, Tarron left Gena, because he knew he couldn't be around. About two or three days later, Shanre was getting a bath in the moonwell, when Tarron came up, and apolagized for the way he acted, and asked for her back. She finally said yes, and they decided on the name Shanre Arith Gracen. Then, Tarron purposed to Gena. After a good few months, Shanre was able to walk and what not. She met Genas old friend, Jaidi's daughter. Shanre and Jaidi became best friends almost instantly. Anyway, Gena found her father a good... leme think... 3 months later, after Jaidi and Sarrai met. (Sarrai = Jaidi's daughter) Gena met her father, and only knew it was him because he had a pendant just like her's except it was blakc, instead of red. (OH almost forgot. The pendant looks like a dragon, with a red cristal in the middle) She faught her father, and he sliced along her eye, with a mixture of poisons, one being Crippling Poison. Gena didn't get affected till about three days later, when she died. everyone tried to fix her, but not one worked. Eventurally, a Draenei Shaman ressurected Gena, but not without getting knocked back, and damn near killed. Gena only got ressurected for a few minutes, before dieing, yet again. About 5 minutes after everyone gave up on bringing her back, her pendant broke from her chain and wen't high into the air. Two people heard it, and turned around. The pendant from her necklace slammed down into her chest, and burried itself under the skin. Leaveing a lump, along with a tattoo with the exact shape, and sybol/look as the pedant itself. While Gena was dead, her Fiance died. His 'Demon' side, broke free, and killed him. Gena was ressurected, alive, and finally had her strength back. She faught the demon, because he came for Shanre. Shanre was biologically the demon's daughter. She was made from him. Not Tarron.Shanre knew that, because she had his blood running through her veins, and she was mostly demon. (OH! again, almost forgot. Gena turned to piracy not long after her first daughter died, but stopped... then, after she was 'retired' from being a sentinal, she turned to it again, now she's the Admiral Of Shadowblade. I'll explain in game about the name.) Anyways, Gena is now part dragon, because of her pendant. It burried its way into her skin, and gave -her- all the powers it possed, now, makeing her part dragon. No one knows this yet, but Gena is the last to the throne of the Silverwings, other then Shanre. Gena's name is Tragena Silverwing. Right as she was about to kill the demon, Shanre stepped in the way of both the people who were about to shoot the demon. Rikimairu, and Tragena. Rikimairu is Gena's officer to Shadowblade. He's inlove with Gena, and she's inlove with him, but hasn't told him yet. But yeah, anyways. Shanre stood in the way, and Gena left her all dragon form. When she's in dragon form, she has huge wings, which are crimson red, deep red eyes, and her viens look like they're about to pop out, along with glowing a bright red light. Gena was back to normal, and watched Shanre quietly for a moment. After a bit, she asked if she wanted to stay with her father, Shanre nodded, so Gena left. She was sitting by the moonwell when the demon came back up to her. He gave Shanre back, saying that Gena would be able to take better care of her.))

So firstly. The "RP" thread is for in character posts only and I will continue to delete anything that isn´t.

Secondly, Tragena. If you feel like joining our humble little adventure I have a few suggestions to make it easier for both you and me. Look over your post (mainly the backgroundstory) and organise it... right now I stopped reading after 3 sentences as I got a headache from the sheer mass of text bundled up togheter like that. Slice it up in digestable pieces so it gets easier to read.

Do that so I can read it and then we can discuss a possible entry for you.

((And to everyone else, for the past 2 weeks ive been incredibly sick, been lying in my bed for 7 days strait so I havent been able to do anything productive, thereby my absence))

As things are getting more intense for me, I thought it might be a good idea to post Valen's full character sheet at this point, just to clear up any shady points:

Name: Valen Moonscar
Race: Night Elf
Gender: Male
Age: ~29
Class: Rogue
Appearance: He is tall like most of his race(compared to humans), about a head's lenght taller than Cailea. His skin is pale blue and does not have the pink shade like Cailea's. His hair is dark blue and long, usually hidden under his black hood, but tied onto a ponytail at times.
Equipment: He wears a full-body suit of black leather, topped off by a black hood that covers most of his head and casts a shadow on his face. He also has two curved blades hanging from his belt on the sides. One of the blades looks damaged from intensive usage, but he doesn't seem to notice this.
Backstory: Valen grew up in Auberdine. When he was six years old, a band of satyrs raided the town. He helped his brother, a young green-haired girl named Cailea, and a few others to escape the demons. He then heard from the guards that one of the demons was on the run but probably wouldn't get far and saw his chance for vengeance. Retrieving his father's knife, who had fallen in battle, he chased the last demon and found it bleeding to death by the beach south of the town. When he found it, instead of managing to kill it, the satyr possessed him.
The demon took him through years of training to become a rogue so he can then track down those he had helped escape the attack and kill them.
He ended up killing even his own brother because of the demon's iron grip over him and eventually learned that his last target was the girl named Cailea, who had just boarded a ship to Southshore...but something was different about this target...something that even the demon seemed to sense...

Ah the memories.. was rereading parts of the story, its sad that those I started out with has vanished one by one. But it also somewhat amazing how much we have written in 1 year and 5-6 months. And as it looks we are still only beginning :).

Ice. im trying to talk (force) a friend of mine to start writing aswell. as I think a new face might give us all things to write about while we wait for Izmae...

I moved your character sheet here.. where it belongs. NOT in the (RP) thread.. And before you can join id like to see a more vivid backstory. And what do you mean by "Western" night Elf?

/Shanda

Name:Leonardoa.
Race: Western Night Elf.
Age and sex: 25 year old male.
Class: Hunter.
Appearance: Quite short and skinny with long blond hair which is straight but can curl in some places. He aslo has a distinct mark on his left cheek that symbolises him as part of the Hundani clan.
Equipment: A shabby, slightly dented bow with a slightly short string so he can't pull it back as much as he could. He also has some brown pants that were handed down from him brother. The last few items he has are a white linen shirt and some grey shoes he got for christmas one year.
Backstory: He had a poor family and grew up in a small town miles from any village. He learnt to be a hunter from his father, which is a family tradition.
But, his father died, killed by a rouge of some sort.

He now goes to hunt down the rouge doing whatever it takes!

I moved this post here for the same reason as above,, im getting really tired of this now..

/Shanda

Name: Danaomiree Class: Priest Race: Human Age: 100 (or so)
Appearance + Equipment: Long, thin, black hair with many holy charms weaved on the tips. A long dark purple gown with an alliance emblem sewn on each shoulder in red thread and one large emblem embroided (sp?) with
holy white-gold silken thread. She holds an old spell book in her left hand, and the Hand of Righteousness in her right. She also has a Tribune Amulet from her mentor, Uther.
Story: As a child, Danaomiree had been taught by Uther and befriended Arthas. Danaomiree was later shocked to find that her parents had been slain by bandits. Uther, being the man he was, adopted Danaomiree as one of his own. They lived happy lives until Arthas turned on them. Arthas killed Uther while Danaomiree was out getting herbs.
Once Danaomiree had discovered who caused Uther's fate, she was torn. Immediatley, she took on Arthas's army, only to be slain by her dear friend Arthas. She had been dead for 80 years, until an unknown force ressurected her to her exact 20 year old human form.
Now Danaomiree needs only two things to rest in peace; slay her once beloved Arthas and to die only at her idol's side in his tomb.

(Its late, am I allowed to join? sorry to interrupt the story.)

By the way, do you fellas have any thoughts on how long it should take us to get to the plaguelands?
I might mention that for me it would be ideal if we spent one more night somewhere else than there, but it might as well take shorter or longer.

What do you think?

Shanda
11-06-2007, 12:19 AM
It should take about 2 more days from now. As we are travelling through a real sized world distances are somewhat large.

Icefrost
11-06-2007, 12:22 AM
Soo that means...the current day(since it only really just begun) and then another one?
Or this one and add two more days?

Izmae
11-06-2007, 12:23 AM
2 more days? oki dokes...by the way, i've just realised that we havent mentioned what we did with the mage from the bar... :S i know it wouldn't really make sense reading it all through, but should we say he disappeared in the night or something?

Icefrost
11-06-2007, 12:26 AM
Good point. I was kind of expecting that you'd have done something with him while Cailea was asleep. But I guess the only real difference in that matter is whether we know why he was there or not.

Izmae
11-06-2007, 12:46 AM
apart from suspecting the Council of being behind it I hadn't planned on finding out anything else from him...he seems the kind of character who would kill himself rather than reveal the secrets of his power in my eyes. Morbid i know but hey, can't all be cheerful! :p hehe

Icefrost
11-06-2007, 12:59 AM
Whoa, you guys are some fast posters and skipped a whole two days while you were at it, give me some breathing room too!

Izmae

I've just had a thought whilst messaging Icefrost...as well as possibly solving one of her problems it would also explain why we sort of..forgot about the mage from the bar. If he used some kind of confusion spell like the one he used on Rowen to remove any memory of him then he would have been free to escape and go ahead of us to warn Tyr's Hand.

How does that sound? :ponder:

Icefrost
11-06-2007, 11:16 PM
Not that you wouldn't already know it, but that sounds good to me.

And while I'm at it:
whilst messaging Icefrost...as well as possibly solving one of her problemsWas that a typo or have I managed to confuse you to thinking I'm a girl? Cailea might be, but I'm not.

Izmae
11-06-2007, 11:32 PM

indeed^^

But I dunno..he must have been one powerfull guy to make Tallian "confused" in that kind of way. cant we just make it so that we forgot about the guy? Rowen who had responsibility could just go "shiiit the dode we captured.. I forgot all about him.!!" or something like that

Icefrost
12-06-2007, 12:35 AM

For once we actually get someone who posts here instead of the RP thread, yay! Looking good so far. However, Shanda is the boss 'round here so you'll have to wait for him.

In the meantime, you probably get a pretty good picture of what has been going on by finding and reading the Story Thus Far thread. Don't spend that much time on the character descriptions there though, as only one of them (Tallian) is still in the story. Instead, stroll through this thread for the character sheets.

The STF thread only contains the story to about halfway to where it is now, so you might want to read the RP itself starting from about page 34-36 or whatever the page was where Izmae came into the story so you can catch some details on the latest action and don't have to start scratching your head whenever we make references to it.

hmm, it wont let me edit my last post... anywho, in light of recent events, i've decided to post up my character thingie...

I know I’m leaving some things out, I apologize, and will fix it if you want me to, I’m just kind of hooked on the whole air of mystery thing.

Name: Kainen Damascus Frost (AKA. KaiN)

Race: Human, ¼ High Elf, before the time of the Blood Elves (but, unless your telepathic, or something really freaky like Arcantis, you wont know)

Age- Self-explanatory: while kain’s age remains undisclosed, he holds the appearance of a man in his mid forties.

Class: Kainen is a warrior by definition, and his skills support that, but years of seclusion and mistrust, war and bad fortune, malice and conflict have brought about a form of rouge talent and cold killer attitude, all while standing on virtues resembling that of the paladins of the silver hand.

Appearance: Kainen stands just over six feet, but his demeanor can make him stand over anyone, no matter their size. His broad shoulders and strong frame gives him an almost barbaric appearance, as of his weight, one can only guess, he could easily weigh over two hundred pounds, or more, his obvious muscle mass makes an accurate estimation nearly impossible. His hair sits just past his shoulders, its dark brown, but an observant onlooker will notice the occasional hint of a deep red, its very straight, but noticeably matted and unwashed while it flows naturally away from his face, always occluding the rest of his head. His eyes are an unnatural green, almost glowing, set squarely on his long, rigid face.

Equipment: Kainen owns a dark chain-mail vest and chain pants augmented with mithrill plates to protect his knees and thighs. Mithril plate boots, and plate gauntlets with clawed bracers, obviously designed to stop hand to hand weapons. He wears a black leather cloak with no sleeves that hangs almost to his heels. The most noticeable of his attire, the sword slung across his back, Marrivash, Kainen made it himself in the great forge of Iron Forge, its long five foot blade was fashioned in the style of the Pandaren war dancers, although longer, the handle is an unadorned two and a half hand wrapped with black leather.

Backstory: Kainen’s past is shrouded in mystery, even from himself, its lost to him… throughout the third war he was involved in a number of losing battles, in the Pageland, Lordaeron, Dalaran and Arathi… Kain is very bitter about the loss of Azeroth to the undead, he hold himself personally responsible, even though there was nothing that he could have done to stop it, often fighting single handedly against the undead, and being mortally wounded in the process, and being dragged off by the retreating Lordaeron corps.

Kain has always put his skill to the test, sometimes to prove to himself that he is capable, or to prove to others, but often just to hone his already lethal abilities. Kain is emotionally hardened, years of turmoil and hatred, pure, unbridled hatred towards the undead, something he clings to fiercely for he knows it’s the only connection to his past he has left, despite everything, Kain has earned little to no reputation, anywhere. In a way, Kain is searching for acceptance, somewhere to belong, but the fear of losing anyone has kept him from ever finding somewhere to stay…

Izmae
13-06-2007, 11:58 PM
just so i know kainen...are you male or female? apparantly i have no sense for that :p
