Ok, big beginner question here...what is Alterac Valley? Where Warsong is CTF and Arathi is similar to the Battlefield series, what are your objectives in AV? Is it in fact 40 v 40, like i've heard from a friend? My friend has also told me about quests in there such as killing members of the opposing faction, and the way he described them, it sounded like killing mobs.

Can anyone provide some clarity on the subject of AV for me please?

Lots and lots of info. But really all talk in advance only helps so much. Go in and learn by fighting there. In my realm, AV games lasted for up to 48 hours...

Its painfully obvious AV was designed for guilds, and therefore ridiculous that Blizzard removed the 'join as group' function from AV. I understand casual players don't like being steamrolled by coordinated guilds, but why punish the guilds that work cohesively?

Now AV is a mess, with games lasting several days in some cases because half of each side is trying to win while the others are mining/fishing/questing or just exploting faction with a keylogger.

Much appreciated on the info Det. Seems illogical to remove join as group...they still allow it in AB and WSG where guilds still have a ginormous advantage over PUGs. That looks like the **** though, i can't wait.
