Hi,
Please check the following steps :
Is the WoWNetExport Addon Installed ( When starting WoW on the Char Selection screen click the AddOns button and see if the addon is listed )
Is the AddOn Activated ( Check the same list to see if the addon isn't disabled )
Did you log in a character into WoW ( Data is only logged when you log in and play with a character )
Did you use the LogOut or Exit option from the WoW menu to quit the game ? ( Killing the task of pressing ALT + F4 isn't a clean way to stop WoW, results in AddOns not finishing and not storing their data ).
Did you already upload your data ? ( After uploading your data files are cleared, so a second upload will only work if new data is generated ).
Please let me know if this solved your problem or not.

I reckon it's because the file name has been capitalised, and that the program is case sensitive.
When installing WWN Data, it creates a mod in the "wownetexport" folder, so it looks for "wownetexport.lua" in your SavedVariables folder. Changing the file name to "WoWNetExport.lua" confuses the program (I did the exact same thing until I realised this).
I might be wrong, but rename the file to "wownetexport.lua" (with out capital letters) and see if that works.

Hm,
Normally it should be case insensitive, but I'm gonna have a look at that.

Was the AddOn Active in the AddOn List ?
The file is only created when WoW Saves all AddOn Data, which only happens if you Log Out a character or if you quite the game using the In Game options.
If the AddOn is installed in the right place, if it shows up in the AddOn List as Active, if you logged in a character played around and logged out that character, then there MUST be a datafile there for you.

I also have this problem.
I've installed the client and make sure its loaded ingame.
I play for a couple of hours..log out and hit the "Upload Now" button too eb told
The client was unable too find any data files
Please run WoW and login with one of your characters, then try again.
Its the recent 1.8.1.2 version.
The file in the wownetexport directory is named "wownetexport.lua" so no caps there.
Err Windows XP...EU version of the game..if it matters :)
Just went back ingame and reloaded and checked the loaded UIs section and.

Hi,
FYI I'm investigating those problems. I think I will be switching from using the Registry to an INI file in the next version of the client. This should allow me to have some easier configuration of the client. I suspect I have some code there which tries to load some Client settings from the registry, and that seems to fail in some odd cases ( sadly not on my machine or I would have found why it fails a long while ago ).
I hope switching to an INI file and only using the Registry for WoW Related settings would solve the remaining issues where some people can't seem to upload any data.

Hi Annunaki,
I'm sorry too bump this back too the top again but I am wondering if you have had any luck :)
I'm guessing the registery values are editable...could i edit those myself and point them too my WoW dir?
Thanks

Hi,
Well, normally the Registry values should be editable using the Options Screen, but I have no idea what is going wrong there. You could try to edit them yourself and see if that solves your problem.
I think for the next version I might be adding a Default LUA option so you can point which LUA file should be the default one to upload. Maybe I'll remove the whole Registry thingie and use INI settings instead.
To be honest, I Really have no clue at all as to what is going wrong. I have tried the EXE on 9 different machines here at work, and it was working fine on any of those.

I've always had to use Upload Special... no idea why, could be a registry issue? Perhaps. But upload special works and is only a couple extra clicks.
Storing app specific config data in the registry is a dumb idea though... a local xml or ini file is a much saner approach. Be interesting to see if such a change fixes things for me.

Hi,
Well the 1.9.0.1. has had some preparation for the INI File stuff, but I just didn't have time to finish it all. If everything works the way I expect it to work, the next version should no longer use the Registry ( except to check some entries that should have been created by Blizzard ).
There is some new stuff comming concerning new data as well, but I'm not giving too much detail until I know I can get it working perfectly.
