Can someone tell me the formula that tells me what my % to crit is with spells. I am a priest and if you hold the mouse over attack like a melee class it tells me my crit % in melee . But It won't show me what it is casting...Someone in my guild says there is away to do it by / your int into a # but doesn't remember .. thanks in advance

I think it's 100int = 1% to crit with spells. You can download mods though and they'll calculate your crit % after you run it for a while.

I think its still currently being debated as one of the CP's on the official forums said it was 1% per 59 or something... at some point.

Otherwise conventional thought is 1% per 100 + 5% base.

This is the only half substansial info I could find on it.. but from what I have tried and using this forumla from this site.. with talents/gear I have about 20% chance of crit.. which works out for me at INT / 61 so I'd imagine that 59.5 is the correct amount and my calc were just mild fluctuations.

I think it's 100int = 1% to crit with spells.

Its not.

Blizzard hasn't said much about crit% with spells, only that a 60 Mage needs 59,5 int for 1% crit. Its based on your estimated amount of int (classwise), so all other classes have less than that, as they're less focused on int than Mages.

The addon is correct tho, I remember reading a list about it somewhere... was it wowwiki??

Base chance to crit with Spells

For spells, the chance to crit is based on intellect. Critical damage spells deal +50% normal damage (=150%). Critical heals will heal +50% their normal amount (=150%). There is currently no way to see your chance to crit with spells.
The base chance for a spell critical hit for each class is :
Druid [INT/?39.5?]%
Mage [INT/59.5]%
Paladin [INT/29.5]%
Priest [INT/?59.5?]%
Shaman [INT/39.5]%
Warlock [INT/?49.5?]%
This is currently a very heavily debated topic, thus the question marks. If a class is listed without the question marks, there has been several confirmed reports at the listed number. If there is a question mark for your class please help out and run some tests for us. The biggest question lies in Paladins and Druids crit ration. Some believe paladins yield 1% crit per 20 int, some say 30, and now some people are saying 39.5. Druids also have varying answers, but the most commonly quoted numbers are starting to be 39.5.
This basically means Cloth casters are on a 60:1 crit ratio (per intellect point) and Hybrid casters are on a 40:1 ratio (per intellect point). Tests are still being done to confirm these findings.

Are these percentages before or after gear/buffs?
