No matter what I do, no matter what I try, I can't get the 1.9.0.1 to work.

You generated a Parser Error, Please send us your Data Files so we can Fix it

BDY Parse Error : 1005 : Parse failed

I've tried deleting the Program Files/WWNExporter folder and the WoW/Interface/Addons/wownetexplorer folder (not exact names) and reinstalling, nothing works. You'd think if it works for other people than a fresh install would work for me...

Are there files created by this program other than in those two folders?

Hi,

I get the same error. I've send my files yesterday.

Hope that helps?

BDY Parse Error?
These errors occur when the parsing engine finds a character in your SavedVariables that it doesn't understand.

This is my entire savedvariables file:

SHOW_FULLSCREEN_STATUS = "1"
SIMPLE_CHAT = "0"
CHAT_LOCKED = "0"
REMOVE_CHAT_DELAY = "0"
SHOW_NEWBIE_TIPS = "1"
LOCK_ACTIONBAR = "0"
SHOW_BUFF_DURATIONS = "1"
ALWAYS_SHOW_MULTIBARS = "1"
SHOW_PARTY_PETS = "1"
QUEST_FADING_DISABLE = "0"
SHOW_PARTY_BACKGROUND = "1"
HIDE_PARTY_INTERFACE = "0"
PARTYBACKGROUND_OPACITY = 0.5
SHOW_OFFLINE_GUILD_MEMBERS = 1
SHOW_DISPELLABLE_DEBUFFS = "1"
SHOW_CASTABLE_BUFFS = "1"

I don't see how that has any characters that would be unrecognized...

Oh, and I found this in the patch notes for 1.9:

- Addon-specific Saved Variables!
Each addon's saved variables will be saved in the file
WTF\Account\{accountname}\SavedVariables\{addonname}.lua, and will
only be loaded when the addon is loaded.
IMPORTANT: The first time you enter the game with this change, you
must make sure all your addons are enabled, or their saved
variables will be lost! If you accidentally do this once, you can
recover by quitting the game, moving your backup SavedVariables.
lua into place and restarting the game with addons enabled.

Wonder if the new version takes that into account?

Well, just tried again to upload data and cant.

I clicked on the Character Resest and the way the wording sounded i thought it would reset local data -- but NO it deleted all my online info.

So, now not info is uploaded.

Anyone got ANY suggestions on how I might get this thing to work again - sense some seem to be having no problems at all.

Also, could a mod be causing this issue?

Which, I sent and email through the uploaded finaly; but, it was saying this...

You generated a Parser Error, Please send us your Data Files so we can Fix it

BDY Parse Error : 1005 : Parse failed

Thanks for any help.

Guys,

Did you use the WWNExporter Options screen to indicate where WoW is installed on your machine ? Did you try deleting your Data file ( WoWInstall/WTF/Account/YourAccount/SavedVariables/wownetexport.lua ) and trying everything again ?

Did you use the WWNExporter Options screen to indicate where WoW is installed on your machine ?

Yes, but the client still doesn't find my data file when I use the "upload" button, only when using the "upload special file".

Did you try deleting your Data file ( WoWInstall/WTF/Account/YourAccount/SavedVariables/wownetexport.lua ) and trying everything again ?

No, but I'll try that tonight.

Thanx for the help!

Went to do what you said - delete the file - and there were like 20 copies of that file.

Well, actualy - there was only one wownetexport.lua; but, there was a file named wownetexport.lua.bak, and there was also several files named something like wownetexport.lua.XXXXXXXXXX. But, replace the "XXX" with (what seemed like) random numbers.

Weird.

But I deleted those files; re-installed one last time and all works right again!

I probably didn't have to re-install but i wanted to anyways.

The ones with the Wierd numbers are actually Backup Files our Client generates. Each time you upload your file, our client will make a backup of your data file. Something in the format of :

WWNExport.Lua.YYYYMMDDHHNN

YYYY Year
MM Month
DD Day
HH Hour
NN Minute

You can actually safely delete those files every now and then.

I've deleted the old files in the WTF folder, but still no luck :(
Any other ideas?

I'm having the same issue. I've also tried uninstalling and deleting every trace of the exporter, then trying again. No dice. Afterwards I get a List Index Out of Bound (0). And if I try to upload special, I get the parse error.

fwiw, my installation directory is C:\World of Warcraft\ and on the setup, I specified this location. But, later after checking, it has the location set to c:\programfiles\World of Warcraft\. I corrected this, and still have the same problem.

I'm at a loss.

OMG.. a split second after I posted that last message, I copied the folder that was installed at C:\program files\WWNExporter into my addons folder. Restarted the exporter and tried to upload. WA-LA!! Fixed!!

Hi,

If you installed WoW into another folder than the Default folder; you should also check that our installer added the necessary AddOn files into Interface/AddOns

In some cases the WoW Installation folder is missing from the registry, and when that happens, our Installer can't copy the AddOn files to your World Of Warcraft Interface folder.

Regarrds,

Ok, this sounds very stupid, but I found the error... :ash:
Somehow i thought I needed to upload the file from the addons directory, but the only result was the parser error.
Apparently the file is still in the old location (saved variables folder). :chinny:
Just wanted to help out the others with the problem...

i am still getting this error when i go to upload specal and then the index out of bounds error, kinda stuck here.

So far the only way, i've managed to get this to work is when the out of bounds error appears, that you quit the WWNExporter program. Relaunch it and then do the upload special again.

That seems to fix the problem perfectly. Of course, its a very unusual one as to why this is all of a sudden happening.

Yeah, this one is as strange as the 'No data files found' problem which seems to be appearing for some users :-(

I found a reason: This client appears to be "Windows language sensitive". The standard "Program Files" directory is renamed in the Danish version (and hence probably in other language packs as well). In Danish the directory is named "Programmer". That is easily overlooked in the Options screen (you get "blind" to the difference) and earlier versions of the client apparently was able to find the correct directory by themselves.

The "List index out of bounds [0]" problem persists, though... :(

Hi,

I'll investigate that issue right away. Did you try restarting the client AFTER you set up the WoW Install Folder in the Options screen ?

Hey - apparently I didn't: Now its working, my file uploaded. So, the parser error may stem from the client looking in the wrong directory and finding a file, the "No data file.." from the client looking for a non-existent directory because of Windows Locale dir names, and the "List index out of bounds.." from trying to point at a file with a path inconsistent with what the client thinks proper, likewise for Locale reasons?

Hope you all get it sorted out - thanks for your help, all of you :-)
