Im a 60 priest on Laughing Skull and getting down on thinking about how once your 60 - geared -- all there is, is Battlegrounds. I came from SWG, which was kick ass before CU and NGE, i loved the PvP in that.
So i decided to make a char on Balzannar because its a week old or so.
Im thinking between Warrior or Rogue. My main goal is PvP.

Right now, for end game, warrior is the way to go. But you never know what might happen in the next patch.

World PvP Rogue is the bomb, but they tend to struggle in BG as stealth is easily broken.
They are two good classes for comparison. Look at them in terms of:
Damage absorbed - Damage Given
Warrior sits on the left by far, Rogue sits on the right.
For simplicity I reccomend warriors. Just a beef axe, cutting swathes through almost anything.
Rogues offer abit more thought IMO, but can be killed by a stiffened feather if hit enuf with it.

For solo ganking, nothing beats rogue, imo.
But in BG or group pvp, at least a warrior has a chance to get healed. As a healer, I would still be casting a heal while the rogue drops. But i would chain cast on a warrior as he goes wild.

I am rolling a rogue right now and going from a 60 epic out Warrior, The transition is very hard. In BG you get healed alot and because of your hit points and armor you can take a beating for ever it seems. Plus along the way you kill alot very quickly . Warriors who swing 300 plus max damage weapons with 28 % chance to crit and 1100 attack power just destroy multiple people at once.( with healer ) But with a rogue you can hide and decide weather you want to fight or not. No where to hide with a warrior=>

I'll have to say that even though rogue is fun and can get that ONE hit in the beginning on me, I usually beat them.
If I sense a stealthied rogue, all I do is plop a totem down that does a radius damage, while also throwing my earthbind totem down so you can't run away fast.
Your stealth breaks (sometimes) and then you're dead from my onslaught.
If you manage to avoid my totem, rogues will get that one big hit on me, which I just heal right away, THEN you're dead from my onslaught.
Unless your 9 lvls higher or I just completely didn't see you, I'll usually win.

Since i've been grinding AB with my Shammy for the Ironbark Staff, i've come to realise that Warriors don't sit on the left of your scale:: they can take a massive beating, they get healed, and they do just as much (generally speaking more) than rogues. If you want to PvP in BG's then deffinately choose a warrior, besides coming from a priest you can see the other side of the spectrum by being the person you were healing all the times you were doing BG's before.

Very true, but a good rogue chooses his battles, and if he can't win with the advantage of suprise... he probably never will.

I had the problem of picking between a warrior and a rogue as well. So i just made a fury warrior its basically a plate wearing rogue without backstab and cheap shot still lots of dps and you can take much more dmg

Warriors take the punishment, build the rage, then give it back. I have the most fun with my warrior in instances, going Defensive stance and taunting, and protecting the others. Not much they can do to escape trouble, though. Hamstring and run is about it.
Rogues have surprise, stealth, and a touch of extra revenue from picking pockets. They're also the best at gathering items from dangerous areas, like the tablets in the Naga ruins in Azshara. They can get what they need without fighting. Heck, my rogue soloed half the quests in Uldaman. Rogues are the masters of close quarters dirty fighting, particularly when they poison their weapons. In Warsong Gulch, they make great defenders, like living land mines. You won't see them until you've stepped on one.

In combat the Warrior is best, his damage is probably 90% of the rogue damage, and he is 2-3 times more durable (even more so with heals).
On the other hand, the rogue can sap a defender in AB and take the flag without even having to fight. The rogue can sit in stealth behind the enemy and pick off the wounded targets that fall back. The rogue can stun much better than the warrior, something that is especially useful in WSG, since druids can shapeshift out of slowing effects, but not stuns.
Both classes (actually all classes in the game) are good, but they have different advantages and disadvantages.

I am having a lot of fun in BGs as a combat rogue. I loose the big hit ambushs and backstabs but my white damage is much more consistant and I can go toe to toe much longer than I could with daggers. I think the advantage over a warrior is that I jump into a fray with full energy and throw big damage without waiting for rage and being more survivable than an ambusher I can jump into the next fray more like a warrior. That being said I only occasionally open with a cheap shot, I typically end up toe to toe against everything but warriors and stun for energy management or space.

At this point, considering how the game is going lately I'd pick a warrior. As a rogue you'll be very frustrated in BGs. Stealth is really your only option of staying alive and in BGs it is not reliable as EVERY SINGLE AOE (even non damaging ones) break stealth.
World PVP is more fun as a rogue, but honestly it takes a lot more skill to win. I know I'll piss off a lot of warriors by saying that, but as a rogue you pretty much have to string together a perfect stunlock to win against most classes these days. A warrior basically has to swing 3 times to down a rogue, while a rogue pretty much has to pull out every trick in their book plus get some good crits to take a warrior down. Hopefully some of this will change when rogues get their "review".
I have more fun solo grinding and pvping with a rogue, but with a warrior you can do things like.. find a group once in a while.
