This is not 100% of my idea, but ideas that came from guildies chating on TS.

General idea: 1 faction controls a BG instance for a week in order to do quests for faction and loot.

Who is eligable: 30+

Here is how it would work. Every major city would have a portal that would send you to an island. This island would be the battleground. Once you entered the Battleground you would be flagged PvP. This island can be any size. Depending on the level's going into the instance. Say lvl's 30-50 has a medium size island with 2 towns on it. Level 31-59, would have 3-4 towns and levels 60-70 would have 4 or more towns. Your level would put you in the correct instance just like the BG's do now.

Week #1. The instance is TRUE neutral. Each town would have neutral NPC's to give quests. Object would be to prevent the other faction from completing quests. Your faction would get pts for killing the other faction and for doing the quests. The faction that got the most points for the week would control the instance for the week. Meaning: say horde won the week. There would still be neutral quests, but this would open up some HORDE ONLY quests. this is where the loot would come in. You wouldn't earn pts by doing the faction specific quests, only the TRUE NUTRAL ones. to keep the instance horde, you would have to continue to do the nutral quests along with the faction quests. At the beginning of each week, the pts would be zero'd out and each faction would start fresh, with the exception of the winning faction would have its factions NPCs to do quests.

This BG would be open 24-7. No waiting in que for 5 hours just to get in. You can think of this as just another zone to hunt/quest in with a few twists. and the rewards greater (hopefully).

Does this sound like it could be fun?

I like it, I'd say difficult to implement and it'd suffer from the same (if not worse) disparity between the lower and higher levels in a bracket as there is now.

Sounds like fun, but there is your problem. Some servers are heavily unbalanced as far as Horde/Alliance go, so many times it would just be a freebie to increase the power difference between the stronger and weaker faction if anybody is allowed to walk on in.

If the rewards were good enough, one decent guild could just move in and take it over...

i agree with that, i can see a guild holdin territory for very long periods of time, and a huge balance shift would happen. There are enough ppl on the high pop servers with mad gear, why give them more? Id rather just wait for the expansion. Lvl 70 cap, and a whole new area to explore. pvp BGs should stay the way they are. It keeps em fair. Well mostly lol

Yeah, thats exactly my point. He says the rewards are available to the whole faction. One guild taking it over would give too much power to one faction if the rewards and such are good enough. The point is to try to avoid giving too much power to one side or the other, I would think.
