32 Rogue VS 35 Mage
My most embarassing PvP encounter would have to be at lvl 32 I was chasing a 35 mage through Desolace for the better part of 15 mins. I had originally encountered the mage next to the ship wreckage on the west coast while recovering the satchel for the Alliance part of the Shipwreck quest. I had the mage in a stunlock for a good 75% of his health but I had managed my energy poorly and he had time to get off a Poly. He blinked away and I sprinted after him and got a good solid couple of crits but he had managed to get a potion or two down before I got to him and then another Poly right as I landed a gouge sending me careening away to watch my prey sitting helpless to do anything, but unable to do anything myself. Of course the gouge wore off before the Poly did and off went the mage. The Poly wore off seconds later and I was off after him. He blinked gaining a little more distance but I was ever so slowly gaining on him (Minor speed enchant on boots). We went like this long enough for me to use sprint twice more. No points in improved sprint so my cooldown was 5mins. We made a huge loop through Desolace with him trying to aggro the mobs and blink away leaving me to deal with them, thank god for evasion. Eventually we wound up right back where we had started. Little did I know but this mage had used this time to devise a plan to kill me. Into the water we went! He swam straight for the bottom. I hesitated for a moment wondering what he was up to, thinking perhaps he was trying to go deep enough that I couldn’t kill him before running out of air (He was an Undead). Oh so foolish me, followed him down thinking I might still get him if I timed it right. POOF! Oh look! I'm a little sheep! Waaay under the water running out of air and helpless to swim to the surface. 2 more well timed Polys and I was out of air and losing health fast. As the damage from the drowning started to affect me he had difficulty slowing me down as the drowning damage kept knocking his poly off, but he did get off one more poly that slowed me just enough. By now I was feeling like the biggest ass on the face of this earth... stupid stupid stupid!!! I have to give him credit though, it was a great plan. Wish I could remember his name, but props to you man if you read and recognize this. Alas, I broke the surface with less than 100 health left and I was right on top of him. I desperately mashed my SS key getting the dreaded, "You must be facing your target." message as he swam circles around me, and FINALY it landed with a nice crit and he died.
I know this is not an encounter of pure pwnage, but it was by far the most humiliating encounter. I of course camped him for 1 more kill before leaving, but hey... He made me feel like a fool :embarassed:
