Since we removed all use of the Windows Registry in this version, it will be very important that you redo your configuration of the client correctly with this new release :
- Download the Installer
- Install everything
- Run the Client
- Log on to the WWNData ( Live ) server
- Go to the Windows System Tray and locate the WWN Data Uploader icon ( black icon with a yellow W ).
- Right click on the item and pick Options form the menu that aprears
- Use the options screen to indicate where WoW is installed on your machine. If you did the default setup this should be 'C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\'
Ok, now the client should be ready to use. Please also make sure to check the following when you start up WoW :
- On the char select screen, click the AddOns button and make sure our AddOn is enabled.
Regards,
Annunaki
P.S. : Until Rushter is back the new installer won't be available on the normal server. You can find it at http://wwndata.worldofwar.net/installer/wwneInstaller.exe

1.9.0.3. is just a quick fix for the List Index out of bounds error some users reported since 1.9.0.1. I just encountered it on my machine as well, so I fixed it immediately.

How does this work with a mac?

You either need to have a PC running the WWNData Uploader and transfer over the "wownetexport.lua" file from your "/World of Warcraft/WTF/Accounts/<your user name>/SavedVariables/" folder, or do the same using Virtual PC.
FYI, it seems that the List Index Out of Bounds Error is now fixed and my information is uploading just fine. Thanks for the great fix!

The program thinks it's v1.9.0.1 and is forever asking me to download and install v1.9.0.3.
Even if I do download and install it using the program it still tells me that update v1.9.0.3 is available to download, and asks me if I want to download it.
Help!
Edit: Oopsie.
Somehow missed the link in the second post
Downloaded and installed from there and now all is fine

With this version of the client as well as the previous, I'm getting this error when trying to log in to the client:
Access violation at address 00ACD30F. Write of address 00ACD30F
Someone reported this in January - I can see the post in this forum - but there was never a response to that bug report.
I can't use the client at all.

It is very difficult to me to solve a problem if I can't reproduce it at all :-(
When exactly are you getting that error. What exactly are you doing ? Can you log in to wwndata using the same info as you use in the client ? Do you have a FireWall ? Are you sure the FireWall doesn't block the upload client ? What version of Windows are you running ?
The more information I have, the better, maybe then I can reproduce the problem on my side and try to solve it.

I'm sorry - normally, I provide much more information on such issues (I've done tech support for 14 years...I know how this works) but it was late and I was tired. :)
WinXP Pro SP2, internal firewall turned *off* but I have a Linux machine running its own firewall.
The error happens when I try to log on to the client - it installs with no errors, and after installation it shows up in my list of AddOns when I launch WoW.
However, I get that error if I use my WOWData username/password to log on to the client at any point; if I play WoW, log out, right-click on the WOWData client icon and attempt to upload, it says "You must log in first" and gives me the login window. I fill in the data I used to create my WOWData account, and the same error occurs.
I'm seeing no unusual events in my firewall logs - which I would expect, if the local machine were generating port/packet activity the 'wall didn't like.

You picked the WWNData Live server from the list of possible servers ? Does the same Login / Password combination work when logging in to the WWNData Site ? Do you have a wireless network adapter ?
Trying to find the source of the problem :-(

Yes - I pick the WWNData live server.
I'm logged in right now to the WWNData site, and those are the same credentials I'm trying to use in the client.
I do not use wireless network with this machine, only physical CAT-5/ethernet.

The quests are in the exportfile, I have checked... so this must be a Web-issue ?

Eeum, You account info for WoW isn't the account info you use for WWNData. If you want to play WoW you will need a WoW account and corresponding login / password.
Your account info for WWNData is simply to use the WebSite and allow you to connect to our DB and upload information using the WWNData client.

I am getting the same error. I'm new to this program, but I think I have done everything correctly. I first run WWNExporter so it sits in my system tray, then I launch WoW and load one of my characters. I alt+tab out of WoW (while it's still running) I right-click the WWNE icon and say "Upload now" and recieve the error mentioned above.
I have installed WoW and WWNE to the default directories, but I'm using WinXP x64 edition, so the default folder is "C:\Program Files (x86)\..." I have changed my installation directory in the Options of WWNE to "C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\". Is that correct? or do I need to point it straight to one of the data folders...?
Can I use the "Upload File Special" and point it to my "\Includes\AddOns\wownetexport\wownetexport.lua" file to troubleshoot? Please forgive me for not doing more research on this on my own before posting, but I'm afraid my problem might be unique to x64 so I thought I'd go ahead and post...

I knew I shouldn't have been so hasty to post :P Well I was browsing around the forums and found that the file I'm supposed to upload is \WTF\Account\~myaccount~\SavedVariables\wownetexport.lua
If I use File Upload Special on that, everything seems to run fine. Now we just need to figure out why "Upload Now" can't find the same file :P
Edit: Yep, I let the whole upload process run and it completed and I have characters uploaded to my WoWnet account here using the Upload File Special method...

Actually you should Log out the character again or quit WoW before you upload your data. The data is only getting generated when you character gets logged out.
As for the Upload Now which isn't working in some cases, I am currently looking at the source of the problem. I think it has indeed something to do with a wrong folder name or something.

Got this bit annoying problem with exporter.. after 9 days uptime and exporter whole time running, updating data once or twice per day, it started to hog up my virtual memory. After 9 days it ate 2gigs of my swap (win2ksp4) and caused pretty bad lag in loadtimes etc. After exiting it, got all memory back and comp runs like silk.
So is there bug or is this "feature" for lazy ppl who doesnt want run and close exporter once per day?

Sotakone,
I checked the sources and indeed there seems to be a memory leak. I will be fixing that ASAP.

I just started getting this message since last night's 1.10 update to WOW.
"You generated a Parser Error, Please send us your Data Files so we can Fix it
BDY Parse Error : 1005 : Parse failed"
What data files do I need to send and to who?

After the recent revamp of the web-site, I get "You have not uploaded any quests" on the quests tab/page....
I do have quests in the quest log, I have tried opening the quest log and then uploading wwndata to no avail....
Still problem remains... No quest data on any of my characters profile tabs. It simply reads "You have not uploaded any quests."
Is this a bug or are we doing something wrong? :ponder:

Tried using for the first time last night. Couple of problems.
1. I don't see any quest data on the website. I logged into WOW, did a couple of quest, exited game, uploaded information. Everything looked correct on website except for quests. Did this a couple times, same things.
2. The last time I logged out and exited from WOW and tried to upload I got an error similar to "Can not upload when open dataset exists". WOW was closed and I could not see any open processes for WOW. I was not sure what to do so I exited WWNData, re-opened and tried to upload. Said there was nothing to upload.
Other than that I like what I see. Looks a little rough, but all in all seems to be ok.
