Two friends and I are planning on starting over on a relatively new pvp server. One wants to roll a rogue, the other a hunter. I'm sorta in a toss up on rolling a second hunter for our trio or taking a druid. Either way im pretty sure im taking night elf but that doesnt matter since they are also. The question I have is this: Do I take a hunter? which gives us effectively a party of 5 to work with on a pvp server, lots of dps, but no healing ability OR do i roll a druid where i could go feral and again boost the dps of the group and be able to heal? the downside of the druid is that when endgame comes i would be a healer basically as I already have played both classes on other servers and druids become healbots in the majority of the cases. I dont really want to become a healbot again, I could always be one of the rebel druids and stay feral but then some guilds have problems with that. Just looking for other opinions, thanks in advance for any help.

Roll something other than a rogue or hunter. seriously, everyone and their brother seems to be one of the two in PvP servers.

Hunter FTW, but your friends and you should try out Horde. You just may like it.

Depends on the server, I like to be on the smaller faction. Some servers the horde outnumbers the Alliance.

I find Druids boring to play as. Probably just me.

My level 20 druid resides in Darnasus, aqua forming the route from AH to the bank/mailbox - most exciting use I've had for him :P

Druids are great, but difficult to play. This is why they are one of the more unpopular classes. End game, you will heal if you aren't good enough cat dps. Cat DPS is similiar to rogue if spec'd correctly and can dps. All of this is new since the 1.9 changes which were massive buffs to the Druid. There are a lot of cat druids dps'n, bear druids tanking... in raids.
A lot of the opinions of druids come from people who were playing the game before 1.9. Feral Druid class pre-1.9 really sucked. That is what they are thinking of. As a lot of 60s took forever to level up... that is what they saw as they were leveling... and that is still a lot of what they see... that is, poorly played feral druids.
I don't heal myself. I don't mind healing here and there, but I don't. I mostly solo.
Leveling a Druid effectively is far harder then levelling, say, a rogue. Rogues get their DPS right away. Druids have to wait till well past their 20s to get any kind of DPS.
Druids can match any of the classes they have capabilities for, but talent specs mean they can really only match one and the other... and be less then the best at the others.
Druids are extremely heavy on itemization and talent organization. You can't just pick anything and be okay like you can with many of the more popular classes. Friends that I know who are extremely experienced gamers have a lot of success with this... others have done very poorly. You effectively have to master multiple classes to be an effective druid.

Of course, if you believe the above nonsense about druid tanks, and rock up in front of a mob that hits for 5-7k (Broodlord, anyone?), proudly waving your armour and hp about, but lacking proper damage mitigation, you'll be a dead druid tank in no time at all, and your healers will likely be LOM and wishing for a proper tank. Yes, you can tank as a druid, but it's not pretty, and it's in the "better than nothing" category. Such is the way of hybrids.

What nonsense? Druids can get real close to hitting the armor cap of 75% before they even hit MC.
